< Isaiah 30 >

1 Angaek thaih kaminawk loe khosak bing o! tiah Angraeng mah thuih; nihcae loe kai khaeah dueng ai ah, maeto hoi maeto lok aram o; kai ih Muithla tawn ai ah khokhan o pongah, nihcae loe zaehaih to sak o aep aep;
“Woe to the rebellious children,” declares the LORD, “to those who carry out a plan that is not Mine, who form an alliance, but against My will, heaping up sin upon sin.
2 Faro siangpahrang thacakhaih to oep o moe, Izip prae tahlip ah paqai hanah, kai khaeah hnikhaih om ai ah, Izip prae ah caeh o tathuk.
They set out to go down to Egypt without asking My advice, to seek shelter under Pharaoh’s protection and take refuge in Egypt’s shade.
3 To pongah Faro siangpahrang oephaih loe nang hanah azathaih ah om ueloe, Izip prae tahlip oephaih doeh nang palung boengsakkung ah om tih.
But Pharaoh’s protection will become your shame, and the refuge of Egypt’s shade your disgrace.
4 Nihcae ukkung angraengnawk loe Zoan vangpui ah oh o, anih ih laicaehnawk doeh Hanes vangpui ah phak o boeh.
For though their princes are at Zoan and their envoys have arrived in Hanes,
5 Nihcae loe tidoeh avang ai, abomh thai ai, atho ohhaih om ai ah, azathaih hoi kasaethuihaih khue ni oh.
everyone will be put to shame because of a people useless to them. They cannot be of help; they are good for nothing but shame and reproach.”
6 Kaipui amno hoi kaipui, pahui sae, azawk thaih hmai pahui hoiah koi, kamtang praezaek ah a tawnh o ih hmuennawk to laa hrang han a phawh o sak, atho kana hmuennawk to tahnongsawk hrang hanah phawh o sak; atho kaom ai kaminawk ohhaih aloih bang prae ah kaom kaminawk khaeah moi kasan hoiah kazit hmuennawk to a phawh o sak.
This is the burden against the beasts of the Negev: Through a land of hardship and distress, of lioness and lion, of viper and flying serpent, they carry their wealth on the backs of donkeys and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people of no profit to them.
7 Izip prae loe atho om ai, azom pui ni; to pongah anih to angtawt thai ai Rahab-Hem-Shebeth, tiah ka kawk.
Egypt’s help is futile and empty; therefore I have called her Rahab Who Sits Still.
8 Angzo han koi ani ah dungzan khoek to caksak hanah, vaihi caeh ah, nihcae hanah kangphaek thlung pongah tarik pae ah loe, cabu pongah doeh tarik paeh;
Go now, write it on a tablet in their presence and inscribe it on a scroll; it will be for the days to come, a witness forever and ever.
9 hae kaminawk loe laisaep thaih kami, lok amlai kami, Angraeng mah thuitaekhaih lok tahngai ai kami ah oh o:
These are rebellious people, deceitful children, children unwilling to obey the LORD’s instruction.
10 nihcae mah, angzo han koi hmuen taphong kaminawk khaeah, Lok to thui hma lai ah; tahmaanawk khaeah, Kamsoem hmuen to kaicae khaeah thui hmah, thaih kahoih hmuen to mah thui ah loe, amsawnlok to thui ah;
They say to the seers, “Stop seeing visions!” and to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us the truth! Speak to us pleasant words; prophesy illusions.
11 hae loklam hae caehtak ving ah, hae loklam ah caeh hma lai ah; Ciimcai Israel Sithaw to kaicae han thui hma lai ah, tiah a naa o.
Get out of the way; turn off the road. Rid us of the Holy One of Israel!”
12 To pongah Ciimcai Israel Sithaw mah hae tiah thuih; hae lok hae na patoek o moe, pacaekthlaekhaih, loklam pazaehaih hoi amsawnlok to na oep o lat pongah,
Therefore this is what the Holy One of Israel says: “Because you have rejected this message, trusting in oppression and relying on deceit,
13 nangcae zaehaih loe amtimh tom tapang, kasang sipae, nawnetta ah amtim roep kamro sipae ah ni om tih.
this iniquity of yours is like a breach about to fail, a bulge in a high wall, whose collapse will come suddenly— in an instant!
14 Vah phaeng ih long laom baktiah koisak tih; paquemhaih roe tawn mak ai; koih naah mataeng doeh takoeng nui ih hmai kamngaeh phrom haih hanah, tuikhaw thung ih tui sohhaih hanah, laom kakoi ahap tetta mataeng doeh hnuk han koi om mak ai, tiah a thuih.
It will break in pieces like a potter’s jar, shattered so that no fragment can be found. Not a shard will be found in the dust large enough to scoop the coals from a hearth or to skim the water from a cistern.”
15 Ciimcai Israel Sithaw, Angraeng Sithaw mah hae tiah thuih; Na dawnpakhuem o moe, nang hngai o duem nahaeloe, pahlong ah na om o tih; amding rue ah na oh o moe, oephaih hoiah na oh o naah thacakhaih to na hnu o tih; toe nangcae loe to tiah oh hanah na koeh o ai.
For the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said: “By repentance and rest you would be saved; your strength would lie in quiet confidence— but you were not willing.”
“No,” you say, “we will flee on horses.” Therefore you will flee! “We will ride swift horses,” but your pursuers will be faster.
17 Kami maeto mah ang thuitaek o naah, kami sangto na cawn o tih; kami pangato mah ang thuitaek o naah, mae nuiah thling ih angmathaih thlung baktih, maesom nuiah payang ih kahni baktiah na om o ai karoek to, na cawn o phang tih, tiah a thuih.
A thousand will flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you will all flee, until you are left alone like a pole on a mountaintop, like a banner on a hill.
18 Toe Angraeng mah nangcae nuiah tahmenhaih suek hanah ang zing khing; nangcae nuiah a tahmenhaih amtuengsak hanah, anih to pakoeh ah om tih; Angraeng loe katoeng Sithaw ah oh; anih zing kaminawk boih loe tahamhoih o.
Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore He rises to show you compassion, for the LORD is a just God. Blessed are all who wait for Him.
19 Jerusalem ah kaom Zion kaminawk, nangcae loe na qah o mak ai boeh; nangcae hanghaih lok to anih mah thaih naah, tahmen ueloe, na hanghaih lok to pathim tih.
O people in Zion who dwell in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will surely be gracious when you cry for help; when He hears, He will answer you.
20 Angraeng mah patangkhanghaih takaw to paek moe, amtanghaih tui naesak langlacadoeh, nangcae patuk kaminawk loe anghawk o thai mak ai, nangmacae ih mik hoi roe nangcae patuk kaminawk to na hnu o tih:
The Lord will give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, but your Teacher will no longer hide Himself—with your own eyes you will see Him.
21 banqoi bantang nang qoi o naah, na naa mah na hnuk bangah, katoeng Loklam loe hae ni, hae loklam ah caeh ah, tiah thuih ih lok to na thaih o tih.
And whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.”
22 Sumkanglung tui pazut ih krangnawk hoi sui hoiah sak ih krangnawk to na panuet o tih boeh, kamhnong laprawn baktiah na va o sut ueloe, Hae ahmuen hoiah caeh ving lai ah, tiah na naa o tih.
So you will desecrate your silver-plated idols and your gold-plated images. You will throw them away like menstrual cloths, saying to them, “Be gone!”
23 Nangcae mah long ah na patit o ih aanmuunawk hanah anih mah kho angzosak tih; long mah caaknaek kapop ah tacawtsak tih; to na niah loe kahoih na lawk hmuen ah maitawnawk pra o tih.
Then He will send rain for the seed that you have sown in the ground, and the food that comes from your land will be rich and plentiful. On that day your cattle will graze in open pastures.
24 Na laikok atok maitaw tae hoi laa hrangnawk mataeng doeh, takho hoiah maw, paqaa hoiah maw kaciim ah hawh tangcae ih cang to ni caa o tih boeh.
The oxen and donkeys that work the ground will eat salted fodder, winnowed with shovel and pitchfork.
25 Pop parai kaminawk humhaih ani kalen, misatoephaih imsangnawk to amtimh naah, vapui tui hoi vacong tuinawk loe maesang hoi maesomnawk nui boih ah long tih boeh.
And from every high mountain and every raised hill, streams of water will flow in the day of great slaughter, when the towers fall.
26 Angraeng mah angmah kaminawk ih kabawk ngan to zaeng pae moe, ahmaa to hoisak naah khrah loe ni baktiah aang tih, ni loe khodai ih ni aengh pongah alet sarihto ah aang tih boeh.
The light of the moon will be as bright as the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter—like the light of seven days—on the day that the LORD binds up the brokenness of His people and heals the wounds He has inflicted.
27 Khenah, Angraeng ih ahmin loe kangthla ahmuen hoiah angzoh; anih palungphuihaih loe hmai baktiah amngaeh, anih ih pahni loe palungphuihaih hoiah koi, anih ih palai loe kangqong hmai baktiah oh.
Behold, the Name of the LORD comes from afar, with burning anger and dense smoke. His lips are full of fury, and His tongue is like a consuming fire.
28 Anih ih anghahhaih takhi loe acaeng kaminawk amrosak hanah, kalen tui baktiah tahnong khoek to pha tahang tih; loklam amkhraeng hanah kaminawk ih akam huh to sumqui hoiah amoem pae tih.
His breath is like a rushing torrent that rises to the neck. He comes to sift the nations in a sieve of destruction; He bridles the jaws of the peoples to lead them astray.
29 Nangcae loe aqum ah sak ih poih baktiah laa to na sah o tih; Thacak Israel Sithaw, tamoi to uengh moe, Angraeng ih mae ah caeh o baktih toengah, palung nang hoe o tih.
You will sing as on the night of a holy festival, and your heart will rejoice like one who walks to the music of a flute, going up to the mountain of the LORD, to the Rock of Israel.
30 Angraeng mah a lensawkhaih lok to thaisak ueloe, a ban phokhaih, palungphuihaih, angqong hmaipalai, amrosak thaih takhi sae hoi qaetui to amtuengsak tih boeh.
And the LORD will cause His majestic voice to be heard and His mighty arm to be revealed, striking in angry wrath with a flame of consuming fire, and with cloudburst, storm, and hailstones.
31 Angraeng lok mah Assyria to amtimsak ueloe, angmah ih cunghet hoiah bop phaeng tih boeh.
For Assyria will be shattered at the voice of the LORD; He will strike them with His scepter.
32 Angraeng mah bohhaih cung phakhaih ahmuen kruekah, katoeng kruekhaih atuenh, satuem tabaenghaih atuenh baktiah om tih; anih misa tukhaih loe nung parai tih.
And with every stroke of the rod of punishment that the LORD brings down on them, the tambourines and lyres will sound as He battles with weapons brandished.
33 Topheth loe canghnii hoi boeh ni, siangpahrang ohhaih ahmuen ah caksak boeh; anih mah to ahmuen to kathuk ah sak moe, kawksak boeh; hmaitik hanah koimongah thing to suek pae coek boeh; hmaih mah anih to kangh hanah, Angraeng anghahhaih takhii mah kat hmai to kalong vapui tui baktiah to thing to hmai ah tik tih.
For Topheth has long been prepared; it has been made ready for the king. Its funeral pyre is deep and wide, with plenty of fire and wood. The breath of the LORD, like a torrent of burning sulfur, sets it ablaze.
