< Isaiah 3 >
1 Angraeng, Khenah, misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah, abomhaih hmuenmaenawk, caaknaeknawk hoi tuinawk boih to Jerusalem, Judah hoiah lak pae ving boeh.
For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,
2 Thacak kami, misatuh kop kami, lokcaek kami hoi tahmaa, khopoek thaih kami, kacoehtanawk,
The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
3 kami qui pangato ukkung misatuh angraeng hoi khingya han koi kami, poekhaih paekkung, bantok sah kop kami, lokthuih kop kaminawk doeh la ving tih boeh.
The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.
4 Nawktanawk to nihcae ukkung angraeng ah ka sak han, nawktanawk mah nihcae to uk o tih.
And I will give children [to be] their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
5 Kaminawk loe maeto hoi maeto, imtaeng kami maeto hoi maeto, pacaekthlaek o tih; nawkta mah mitong to zoeh ueloe, tidoeh panoek ai kami mah khingya paek koi kami to patoek tih.
And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
6 Kami maeto mah ampa im ah angmah ih amnawk to naeh ueloe, anih khaeah, Nang loe khukbuen na tawnh, to pongah kaicae ukkung ah om ah; hae ih kamro hmuennawk doeh khenzawn ah, tiah naa o tih;
When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, [saying], Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and [let] this ruin [be] under thy hand:
7 toe to na niah loe anih mah, Kai loe kahoih hmuen sahkung ah ka om thai mak ai; kai ih im ah loe caeknaek om ai, khukbuen doeh om ai; kami ukkung ah na suem hmah, tiah naa tih.
In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house [is] neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
8 Jerusalem loe amtimh moe, Judah doeh amtimh boeh; a thuih o ih loknawk hoi a sak o ih hmuennawk mah Angraeng ih lok to aek o moe, anih ih lensawk mik to tiah doeh sah pae o ai.
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings [are] against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
9 A sak o ih kahoih ai hmuen to angmacae mikhmai ah amtuengsak; a sak o ih zaehaih to angphat thai ai, Sodom baktiah amtuengsak. Nihcae hinghaih loe khosak bing! Angmacae mah ni angmacae nuiah raihaih to phak o sak.
The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide [it] not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
10 Katoeng kami loe khosak hoih, tiah thui oh; nihcae loe toksakhaih atho to caa o tih.
Say ye to the righteous, that [it shall be] well [with him: ] for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Kahoih ai kaminawk khosak na bing o! Amrohaih loe nihcae nuiah om tih! A ban mah sak ih zaehaih atho loe pathok let tih.
Woe unto the wicked! [it shall be] ill [with him: ] for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
12 Nawktanawk mah kai ih kaminawk pacaekthlaek o, nongpatanawk mah nihcae to uk. Aw kai ih kaminawk, nangcae zaehoikungnawk mah loklam amkhraengsak moe, na caeh o haih loklam to amrosak boeh.
[As for] my people, children [are] their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause [thee] to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
13 Angraeng loe lokcaek hanah angdoet, anih loe kaminawk lokcaek hanah angdoet tahang.
The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
14 Angraeng loe angmah ih kacoehtanawk, angraengnawk hoi nawnto lokcaekhaih thungah akun tih; kai ih misur takha loe nihcae mah caak o boih boeh; amtang kaminawk ih hmuenmae to a lomh pae o moe, angmacae im ah suek o.
The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor [is] in your houses.
15 Tipongah kai ih kaminawk to na pacaekthlaek o moe, amtang kaminawk ih mikhmai to na tabaeng o loe? tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
What mean ye [that] ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
16 Angraeng mah, Zion nongpatanawk loe amoek o phi, nihcae loe tahnong padoengh tahang hoiah lamcaeh o moe, amoekhaih mik hoiah kami to khet o, atuen tacawt hanah khok tangkan tamcaek ah takanh o, khok amthoephaih hmuen loe lamcaeh naah tuenh parai.
Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing [as] they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
17 To pongah Angraeng mah Zion canunawk ih lu to ahmaa caasak tih, Angraeng mah nihcae ih khukbuen to khring pae ueloe, azathaih tongsak tih.
Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
18 To na niah loe Angraeng mah atuenh katuen nihcae amthoephaih hmuennawk to la pae ving tih; khok amthoephaih hmuennawk, lumueknawk, khrah baktiah sak ih amthoephaih hmuennawk,
In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of [their] tinkling ornaments [about their feet], and [their] cauls, and [their] round tires like the moon,
19 a oih koi hmuennawk, ban lakoknawk, mikhmai khukhaihnawk,
The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
20 lu khukhaih hmuennawk, khok amthoephaih hmuennawk, lu zaenghaih hmuennawk, hmuihoih tui tabunawk, amthoephaih hmuennawk, naa tangkraengnawk,
The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
21 bantueknawk hoi hnah ah abuen koi amthoephaih hmuennawk,
The rings, and nose jewels,
22 angkraihaih kahninawk, khukbuennawk, anui ah angkhuk ih laihawnawk, pasahnawk,
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
23 hmaidannawk, puu kahninawk, lu zaenghaih palanawk hoi kahninawk to la pae ving tih.
The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
24 Hmuihoih zuengah hmuisae, kazii zuengah qui, sam zuengah lu sam aah muilumhaih, kaeng ah angzaeng ih kahni zuengah buri qui, kranghoihaih zuengah bohhaih ahmaa to om lat tih.
And it shall come to pass, [that] instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; [and] burning instead of beauty.
25 Nang ih kaminawk loe sumsen hoiah amtimh o ueloe, thacak misatuh kaminawk loe misatukhaih ahmuen ah amtimh o tih.
Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
26 Zion ih khongkhanawk loe palungset hoiah qah o ueloe, palungboeghaih hoiah long ah anghnu o sut tih.
And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she [being] desolate shall sit upon the ground.
