< Isaiah 29 >

1 Nang, Ariel, Ariel, David ohhaih vangpui, khosak na bing! Saningto pacoeng saningto thap oh loe, buhraenghaih poih doeh saningto pacoeng saningto sah o nasoe.
Woe to Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the festivals come round.
2 Toe Ariel vangpui to kam tangsak han; anih loe palungsethaih hoiah hang tih; Ariel vangpui loe ka hmaa ah angbawnhaih hmaicam baktiah om tih.
But I will besiege Ariel, and she will be mourning and lamenting; and she will be to me like Ariel.
3 Nang to naeh hanah kang takui khoep han, misa abuephaih imsang hoi kang takui khoep moe, misa anghawkhaih long khaw doeh ka sak han.
I will encamp against you in a circle and will lay siege against you with a palisade, and I will raise siege works against you.
4 Nang loe long ah pakhrah tathuk tih, to naah long thung hoiah lok na thui tih; na thuih ih lok loe maiphu thung hoi tetta ah tacawt tih; na thuih ih lok loe pakhra kawk thaih kami mah apaeh ih lok baktiah, long thung hoiah tacawt ueloe, maiphu thung hoiah lok amzaita ah thui tih.
You will be brought down and will speak from the ground; your speech will be low from the dust. Your voice will sound like a spirit that speaks from the ground, and out of the dust your speech will whisper.
5 Toe pop parai na misanawk loe kahoih parai maiphu baktiah om o tih, kami tahmenhaih tawn ai kaminawk loe anghaeh phang tavai baktiah om o tih; nawnetta thung to tiah om roep tih.
The great number of your invaders will become like fine dust, and the multitude of the ruthless ones as chaff that passes away. It will happen suddenly, in an instant.
6 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw loe kho pazihhaih, talih hnawhhaih, kalen parai atuen, takhi sae hoi kangqong hmaipalai hoiah danpaek tih.
Yahweh of hosts will come to you with thunder, earthquake, great noise, with strong winds and violent storm, and the flames of a devouring fire.
7 Ariel vangpui tuh prae kaminawk boih, Ariel hoi kacak sipae tuh kaminawk, anih raihaih paek kaminawk loe khoving naah hnuk ih amang baktiah ni om o tih.
It will be like a dream, a vision of the night: A horde of all the nations will fight against Ariel and her stronghold. They will attack her and her fortifications to press upon her.
8 Zok amthlam kami loe amang ah buh a caak, toe angthawk tahang naah zok amthlam let baktih, tui anghae kami mah amang ah tui to naek, toe angthawk naah tui anghaeh let toengtoeng, tui anghae dip thai ai baktiah ni om tih; Zion mae tuh prae kaminawk boih doeh to tiah om o tih.
It will be like when a hungry man dreams he is eating, but when he awakes, his stomach is empty. It will be like when a thirsty man dreams that he is drinking, but he when he awakes, he is fainting, with his thirst not quenched. Yes, so will be the great number of nations that fights against Mount Zion.
9 Anghngai oh loe, dawnrai oh; nihcae loe misurtui nae ai ah, mu paquih o; mu nae ai ah, ahnuk ahma amtimh o.
Astonish yourselves and be astonished; blind yourselves and be blind! Be drunk, but not with wine; stagger, but not with beer.
10 Angraeng mah iih angmuethaih palung to paek pongah, mik na pasim o boeh; nangcae ih tahmaa, ukkungnawk hoi angzo han koi hmuen hnu thaih kaminawk to khuk khoep boeh.
For Yahweh has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep. He has closed your eyes, the prophets, and has covered your heads, the seers.
11 Hae hnuksakhaih hmuennawk boih loe nangcae hanah catui daeng tangcae cabu thung ih loknawk baktiah oh; to cabu to ca amtuk kami khaeah paek moe, Tahmenhaih hoiah hae cabu hae kroek ah, tiah a naa. To naah anih mah, Catui daeng pongah, ka kroek thai ai, tiah thuih.
All revelation has become to you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men might give to one who is learned, saying, “Read this.” He also says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.”
12 To ca to ca amtuk ai kami khaeah na paek moe, Tahmenhaih hoi hae ca hae kroek ah, tiah na naa: to naah anih mah, Ca ka kroek thai ai, tiah thuih.
If the book is given to one who cannot read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot read.”
13 Angraeng mah, Hae kaminawk loe pakha hoiah ni kai khaeah angzoh o, pahni hoiah kai ang pakoeh o, toe palung loe kai khae hoiah angthla o; kaminawk mah patuk ih baktih toengah kai angzit o:
The Lord said, “This people comes close to me with their mouths and honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Their honor for me is only a commandment of men that has been taught.
14 to pongah, khenah, hae kaminawk khaeah dawnrai hmuen, poekraihaih hoi anghmang kathok hmuen to ka sak han; palungha kaminawk ih palunghahaih loe anghmaa tih; khopoek thaih kaminawk ih panoekhaih doeh anghma boih tih, tiah thuih.
Therefore, see, I will proceed to do a marvelous thing among this people, wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men will disappear.”
15 Angraeng panoeksak han ai ah, kathuk poekhaih tawn kami, vinghaih thungah toksah kami, mi mah maw kaicae hae hnu thai tih? Mi mah maw kaicae hae panoek tih? tiah thui kaminawk loe khosak bing!
Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from Yahweh, and whose deeds are in darkness. They say, “Who sees us, and who knows us?”
16 Nangcae mah hmuennawk buenglueng tamlet ah na paqoi o boih boeh, laom sahkung loe amlai long baktiah na poek o; a sak ih hmuen mah sahkung khaeah, kai loe anih mah ni sak, tiah thui tih maw? Laom mah laom sahkung khaeah, Anih loe tidoeh panoek ai, tiah thui tih maw?
You turn things upside down! Should the potter be considered like clay, so that the thing that is made should say about him who made it, “He did not make me,” or the thing formed say about him who formed it, “He does not understand”?
17 Lebanon loe atue setta thung long kahoih ah om tih, long kahoih ahmuen loe taw ah angcoeng mak ai maw?
In just a little while, Lebanon will be turned into a field, and the field will become a forest.
18 To na niah loe naa pang kami mah cabu thung ih lok to thaih ueloe, mikmaengnawk mah kamtueng ai, khoving ahmuen thung hoiah hnu o thai tih boeh.
On that day the deaf will hear the words of a book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of the deep darkness.
19 Poeknaem kaminawk doeh Angraeng ah anghoehaih pung o tih; kaminawk thungah amtang kaminawk loe Ciimcai Israel pongah anghoe o tih.
The oppressed will again rejoice in Yahweh, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
20 Zitthok kami loe anghmaa tih boeh; minawk pahnui thuih kami to om mak ai boeh, kami zaehaih khen thaih kaminawk,
For the ruthless will cease, and the scoffer will vanish. All those who love to do evil will be eliminated,
21 lok maeto pazaehaih pongah tayacoi kami, anih aman hanah khongkha ah thaang patung kami, katoeng kami to toeng ai ah sah kaminawk to amro o boih tih boeh.
who by a word make a man out to be an offender. They lay a snare for him who seeks justice at the gate and put the righteous down with empty lies.
22 To pongah Abraham akrangkung, Angraeng mah Jakob imthung takoh khaeah hae tiah thuih; Jakob loe azathaih tong mak ai, mikhmai doeh sae mak ai boeh.
Therefore this is what Yahweh says concerning the house of Jacob—Yahweh, who redeemed Abraham, “Jacob will no longer be ashamed, nor will his face be pale.
23 To kaminawk mah, ka sak ih tok to hnuk o naah, ka hmin to ciimcai o sak tih, Jakob ih Ciimcai Sithaw to panoek o ueloe, Israel Sithaw zithaih to tawn o tih.
But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, they will make my name holy. They will make holy the name of the Holy One of Jacob and they will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
24 Anghmang suthaih muithla tawn kaminawk mah panoekthaihaih to tawn o ueloe, lokaek koeh kaminawk mah doeh ka patuk ih lok to tahngai o tih boeh, tiah thuih.
Those who err in spirit will gain understanding, and complainers will learn knowledge.”
