< Isaiah 22 >

1 Azawn hnuksakhaih kawng pongah thuih ih lok mah, Tih mah maw raihaih ang paek o moe, imphu nuiah na dawh o boih?
The burden of the valley of vision. What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops?
2 Lokpunghaih hoi kahraw parai atuenh hoiah kakoi vangpui, nawmhaih vangpui, hum ah kaom nang ih kaminawk loe sumsen hoiah hum o ai, misa angtuk naah doeh dueh o ai.
You that are full of shouting, a tumultuous city, a joyous town; your slain are not slain with the sword, neither are they dead in battle.
3 Nangcae ukkungnawk loe nawnto cawnh o, nihcae loe kalii kaat kop kaminawk mah naeh o; nangcae thung ih kaminawk loe ahmuen kangthla ah cawnh o, toe nihcae to naeh o boih.
All your rulers fled away together. They were bound by the archers. All who were found by you were bound together. They fled far away.
4 To pongah kaimah, Kai hae na caehtaak ah; palungnat hoi ka qah han vop; kai kaminawk ih canunawk loe amro o boeh pongah, kai pathloep hanah azom hmah, tiah ka naa.
Therefore I said, “Look away from me. I will weep bitterly. Don’t labor to comfort me for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
5 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw mah, hnuksakhaih paek ih azawn ah raihaih, khok hoiah atithaih, poek anghmang suthaih, sipae amtimsakhaih hoi maenawk hanah hangh thuihaih ani to suek boeh.
For it is a day of confusion, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from 'Adonay, Adonai Tzva'ot [Lord, Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], in the valley of vision; a breaking down of the walls, and a crying to the mountains.”
6 Elam kaminawk loe kalii to avak o moe, hrang lakok angthueng kaminawk, hrang angthueng kaminawk hoi nawnto angzoh o; Kir kaminawk loe misa angvaenghaih hmuen to aken o.
Elam carried his quiver, with chariots of men and horsemen; and Kir uncovered the shield.
7 Na koeh koek ih azawnnawk loe hrang lakoknawk hoiah koi moe, hrang angthueng kaminawk doeh vangpui sipae khongkha taengah koi o mong boeh.
Your choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen set themselves in array at the gate.
8 Judah pakaahaih to takhoe pae ving, to nathuem ah nang mah maiphaw suekhaih taw thung ih im to na khet.
He took away the covering of Judah [Praised]; and you looked in that day to the armor in the house of the forest.
9 Amrohaih hoiah kakoi David ih vangpui to na hnu o tih; aloih bang tuili ih tui to nawnto na doh o tih.
You saw the breaches of David [Beloved]’s city, that they were many; and you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.
10 Jerusalem ih imnawk to na kroek o ueloe, kacak sipae to sak hanah imnawk to na phrae o tih.
You counted the houses of Jerusalem [City of peace], and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall.
11 Kangquem tuili hoi tacawt patungh ih tui doeh, vangpui sipae hnetto salakah sah o tih; toe to toksah kami to na khen o ai, canghnii hoi toksah kami ah kaom anih to khingyahaih na paek o ai.
You also made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you didn’t look to him who had done this, neither did you have respect for him who purposed it long ago.
12 To na niah qahhaih, palungsethaih, lu sam aahhaih, kazii angzaeng hanah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw mah kawk;
In that day, 'Adonay Adonai Tzva'ot [Lord Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], called to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to dressing in sackcloth:
13 toe khenah, anghoehaih hoi poeknawmhaih, maitaw tae hoi tuunawk to bohhaih, moi caakhaih hoi misurtui naekhaih to oh; nae o si loe, caa o si, aicae loe khawnbang ah a dueh o tih boeh, tiah na thuih o lat.
and behold, joy and gladness, killing cattle and killing sheep, eating meat and drinking wine: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die.”
14 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw mah, Na dueh o ai karoek to hae zaehaih hae ciimsak thai mak ai, tiah ka thaih hanah ang thuih.
Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] revealed himself in my ears, “Surely this depravity (moral evil) will not be forgiven you until you die,” says 'Adonay, Adonai Tzva'ot [Lord, Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies].
15 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw mah, Hmuenmae pakuemkung, siangpahrang im khenzawnkung, Sebna khaeah caeh ah loe hae tiah thui paeh, tiah ang naa.
Thus says 'Adonay, Adonai Tzva'ot [Lord, Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], “Go, get yourself to this treasurer, even to Shebna, who is over the house, and say,
16 Hmuensang ah nangmah hanah tangqom to na takaeh moe, na oh haih hanah tangqom to thlung nuiah na thuk, nangmah hanah haeah tangqom sah kami nang, hae ahmuen ah timaw na sak? Hae baktih hmuen sak hanah mi mah maw sakthaihaih akaa to ang paek?
‘What are you doing here? Who has you here, that you have dug out a tomb here?’ Cutting himself out a tomb on high, chiseling a habitation for himself in the rock!”
17 Khenah, Aw thacak kami, Angraeng mah a thacakhaih hoiah na naeh ueloe, nang to takhoe ving tangtang tih boeh.
Behold, Adonai will overcome you and hurl you away violently. Yes, he will grasp you firmly.
18 Anih mah kalen parai prae thungah, pungpalung baktiah tha hoiah na paloep tih; nang loe to ah na dueh tih, na lensawkhaih hrang lakok doeh to ah pong sut ueloe, na angraeng im ah azathaih na omsak tih.
He will surely wind you around and around, and throw you like a ball into a large country. There you will die, and there the chariots of your glory will be, you shame of your lord’s house.
19 Na toksakhaih ahmuen hoiah nang to kang haek moe, nang doethaih ahmuen hoiah kang takhoe ving han.
I will thrust you from your office. You will be pulled down from your station.
20 To na niah loe Hilkiah capa, ka tamna Eliakim to ka kawk han;
It will happen in that day that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah,
21 anih hanah nang ih kahni to kang khuksak moe, nang ih kazii to kang zaengsak pacoengah, na ukhaih to anih khaeah ka paek han; anih loe Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk hoi Judah imthung takohnawk hanah ampa ah om tih.
and I will clothe him with your robe, and strengthen him with your belt. I will commit your government into his hand; and he will be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem [City of peace], and to the house of Judah [Praised].
22 Anih ih palaeng nuiah David imthung takoh ih cabi to ka koeng han; anih mah paong ih loe mi mah doeh khaa thai mak ai; anih mah khah ih loe mi mah doeh paong thai mak ai.
I will lay the key of David [Beloved]’s house on his shoulder. He will open, and no one will shut. He will shut, and no one will open.
23 Kacak ahmuen ah ka takhing ih sumdik baktiah anih to ka caksak han; anih loe ampa imthung takoh hanah lensawk angraeng tangkhang ah om tih.
I will fasten him like a nail in a sure place. He will be for a throne of glory to his father’s house.
24 Ampa im lensawkhaihnawk, a caanawk hoi anih ih canawknawk, kathoeng kue laomnawk, kathuk laomnawk hoi boengloengnawk loe anih nuiah ni bang o boih tih.
They will hang on him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, every small vessel, from the cups even to all the pitchers.
25 To na niah loe, Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw mah hae tiah thuih; kacak ahmuen ah ka takhing ih sumdik to angphong tih, angkhaek ueloe, krah ving tih boeh; a nuiah kaom hmuen kazit doeh takroek pae pat tih boeh, tiah Angraeng mah thuih boeh.
“In that day,” says Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], “the nail that was fastened in a sure place will give way. It will be cut down, and fall. The burden that was on it will be cut off, for Adonai has spoken it.”
