< Isaiah 21 >

1 Tuipui taeng ih praezaek kawng pongah thuih ih lok loe, aloih bang hoi kasong takhi kamhae baktih toengah, prae tuh kami loe zitthok praezaek hoiah angzoh.
A declaration about the desert by the sea. Like stormwinds sweeping through the Negev it comes passing through from the wilderness, from a terrible land.
2 Zitthok hnuksakhaih loe kai khaeah amtuengsak; aling thaih kami mah aling moe, kalomh thaih kami mah a lomh. Aw Elam kaminawk, caeh o tahang ah! Aw Media kaminawk, takui oh! To vangpui thungah kaom hanghaihnawk boih ka boengsak han boeh.
A distressing vision has been given to me: the treacherous man deals treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Go up and attack, Elam; besiege, Media; I will stop all her groaning.
3 To pongah ka kaeng loe nat parai; nongpata caa tapen tom nathuem ih kana baktiah, nathaih mah ang naeh; thaihaih naa loe thazok sut boeh; ka mik doeh amtueng ai boeh.
Therefore my loins are filled with pain; pains like the pains of a woman in labor have taken hold of me; I am bowed down by what I heard; I am disturbed by what I saw.
4 Ka palungthin loe tasoeh, zithaih mah ang tasoehsak; ka zing kong ih khoving doeh, kai hanah tasoehhaih ah ni oh boeh.
My heart pounds; I shake with fear. Twilight was my desire, but it brought me terror.
5 Caboi to suek o moe, im toep kami maeto doeh suek o boeh; caak o moe, naek o boeh; nangcae angraengnawk, angthawk oh loe, misa angvaenghaih hmuen to tasii nok oh!
They prepare the table, they spread rugs and eat and drink; arise, princes, anoint your shields with oil.
6 Angraeng mah hae tiah ang thuih, Caeh ah loe, misa toep kami to suem ah, anih mah a hnuk ih hmuen to thui nasoe.
For this is what the Lord said to me, “Go, post a watchman; he must report what he sees.
7 Anih mah hrang angthueng kami hnetto hoi hrang lakok maeto, laa hrang lakok maeto, tahnogsawk hrang lakok maeto hnuk naah, anih mah acoehaih hoiah toep;
When he sees a chariot, a pair of horsemen, riders on donkeys, and riders on camels, then he must pay attention and be very alert.”
8 to naah misatoep kami mah, Kaipui baktiah hang moe, ka Angraeng, kai loe, anghak ai ah khodai ah misa ka toep; khoving ah doeh aqum puek misatoephaih ahmuen ah ka oh, tiah a naa.
The watchman cries out, “Lord, on the watchtower I stand all day, every day, and at my post I stand all night long.”
9 Khenah, hrang lakok angthueng kaminawk loe hrang angthueng kami hnetto hoi nawnto angzoh o. Anih mah, Babylon loe amtim boeh, amtim boeh! Sak cop ih angmah ih sithaw krangnawk loe long ah vah boih boeh, tiah a thuih.
Here comes a chariot with a man and a pair of horsemen. He calls out, “Babylon has fallen, fallen, and all the carved figures of its gods are broken to the ground.”
10 Aw cang ka tithaih ahmuen, imcih pong ih cang, misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, Israel caanawk ih Sithaw khae hoi ka thaih ih hmuen to kang thuih.
My threshed and winnowed ones, children of my threshing floor! What I have heard from Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared to you.
11 Dumah kawng pongah thuih ih lok loe, Kami maeto mah, Misatoep kami, khoving ih tok loe kawbangmaw oh? Misatoep kami, khoving ih tok loe kawbangmaw oh? tiah Seir hoiah ang kawk.
A declaration about Dumah. One calls to me from Seir, “Watchman, what is left of the night? Watchman, what is left of the night?”
12 Misatoep kami mah, Khodai tom boeh moe, kho doeh ving tom boeh; lokdueng han na koeh o nahaeloe, dueng oh; amlaem oh loe, ang zo o let ah, tiah pathim pae.
The watchman said, “The morning comes and also the night. If you want to ask, then ask; and come back again.”
13 Arabia kawng pongah thuih ih lok loe, Aw kholong caeh Dedan kaminawk, nangcae loe Arabia taw ah anghak oh.
A declaration about Arabia. In the wilderness of Arabia you spend the night, you caravans of Dedanites.
14 Tema kaminawk, tui anghae kaminawk hanah tui to sin pae oh loe, kaproeng kaminawk hanah buh to paek oh.
Bring water for the thirsty; inhabitants of the land of Tema, meet the fugitives with bread.
15 Nihcae loe sumsen, sumsen aphonghaih, kalii anuenghaih hoi kanung parai misa angtukhaih thung hoi kacawn kami ah oh o.
For they have fled from the sword, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow, and from the weight of war.
16 Hae tiah Angraeng mah kai khaeah thuih, Tangka hoi thlai ih tamna toksakhaih saning to kroek pae baktih toengah, saningto thungah, Kedar vangpui lensawkhaih to azaem tih boeh.
For this is what the Lord said to me, “Within a year, as a laborer hired for a year would see it, all the glory of Kedar will end.
17 Kanghmat kalii sin kaminawk hoi thacak Kedar misatuh kaminawk loe, kami tamsi o tih, tiah thuih; Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah to tiah thuih boeh.
Only a few of the archers, the warriors of Kedar will remain,” for Yahweh, the God of Israel, has spoken.
