1 Tuipui taeng ih praezaek kawng pongah thuih ih lok loe, aloih bang hoi kasong takhi kamhae baktih toengah, prae tuh kami loe zitthok praezaek hoiah angzoh.
The oracle on the desert of the sea: As storm-winds in the South which with a rush from the desert, do come from a terrible land,
2 Zitthok hnuksakhaih loe kai khaeah amtuengsak; aling thaih kami mah aling moe, kalomh thaih kami mah a lomh. Aw Elam kaminawk, caeh o tahang ah! Aw Media kaminawk, takui oh! To vangpui thungah kaom hanghaihnawk boih ka boengsak han boeh.
[So] hath, a grievous vision, been told me: —the deceiver, is deceiving. And the spoiler, is spoiling, Go up, O Elam Besiege O Media, All the sighing she hath caused, have I made to cease.
3 To pongah ka kaeng loe nat parai; nongpata caa tapen tom nathuem ih kana baktiah, nathaih mah ang naeh; thaihaih naa loe thazok sut boeh; ka mik doeh amtueng ai boeh.
For this cause, are my loins filled with anguish, Pangs, have seized me, as the pangs of her that is giving birth, —I writhe so that I cannot hear, I tremble, so that I cannot see:
4 Ka palungthin loe tasoeh, zithaih mah ang tasoehsak; ka zing kong ih khoving doeh, kai hanah tasoehhaih ah ni oh boeh.
My heart fluttereth, A horror, terrifieth me, —My twilight of pleasure, hath he turned for me into a time of trembling.
5 Caboi to suek o moe, im toep kami maeto doeh suek o boeh; caak o moe, naek o boeh; nangcae angraengnawk, angthawk oh loe, misa angvaenghaih hmuen to tasii nok oh!
[Ye thought] to prepare the table—spread the mat—eat—drink! …Arise ye chieftains anoint the shield!
6 Angraeng mah hae tiah ang thuih, Caeh ah loe, misa toep kami to suem ah, anih mah a hnuk ih hmuen to thui nasoe.
For, thus, hath My Lord said unto me, —Go, set the watchman, What he seeth, let him tell!
7 Anih mah hrang angthueng kami hnetto hoi hrang lakok maeto, laa hrang lakok maeto, tahnogsawk hrang lakok maeto hnuk naah, anih mah acoehaih hoiah toep;
When he seeth A train of horsemen in double rank, A train of asses, A train of camels, Then shall he hearken attentively with diligent heed.
8 to naah misatoep kami mah, Kaipui baktiah hang moe, ka Angraeng, kai loe, anghak ai ah khodai ah misa ka toep; khoving ah doeh aqum puek misatoephaih ahmuen ah ka oh, tiah a naa.
Then cried he. A lion! On the watch, O My Lord, had I been standing continually, by day, And at my post, had I been stationed whole nights; —
9 Khenah, hrang lakok angthueng kaminawk loe hrang angthueng kami hnetto hoi nawnto angzoh o. Anih mah, Babylon loe amtim boeh, amtim boeh! Sak cop ih angmah ih sithaw krangnawk loe long ah vah boih boeh, tiah a thuih.
When lo! here was a train of men coming. With horsemen in double rank, —And one began and said, Fallen! fallen! is Babylon, And all the images of her gods, are smashed to the ground!
10 Aw cang ka tithaih ahmuen, imcih pong ih cang, misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, Israel caanawk ih Sithaw khae hoi ka thaih ih hmuen to kang thuih.
O thou My threshing! And the grain of my corn-floor! That which I have heard from Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, Have I declared, unto you.
11 Dumah kawng pongah thuih ih lok loe, Kami maeto mah, Misatoep kami, khoving ih tok loe kawbangmaw oh? Misatoep kami, khoving ih tok loe kawbangmaw oh? tiah Seir hoiah ang kawk.
The oracle on Dumah: Unto me, is one crying—out of Seir, Watchman! how far gone is the night? Watchman, how far gone is the night?
12 Misatoep kami mah, Khodai tom boeh moe, kho doeh ving tom boeh; lokdueng han na koeh o nahaeloe, dueng oh; amlaem oh loe, ang zo o let ah, tiah pathim pae.
Said the watchman, There cometh a morning. But also a night, —If ye will enquire, enquire, ye—Come, again!
13 Arabia kawng pongah thuih ih lok loe, Aw kholong caeh Dedan kaminawk, nangcae loe Arabia taw ah anghak oh.
The oracle on Arabia, —Among the shrubs in Arabia, must ye lodge, Ye caravans of Dedanites.
14 Tema kaminawk, tui anghae kaminawk hanah tui to sin pae oh loe, kaproeng kaminawk hanah buh to paek oh.
To meet the thirsty, bring ye water, —Ye dwellers in the land of Tema; With bread for him, get in advance of him that is in flight!
15 Nihcae loe sumsen, sumsen aphonghaih, kalii anuenghaih hoi kanung parai misa angtukhaih thung hoi kacawn kami ah oh o.
For, before swords, have they fled: Before a sword that is drawn, Before a bow that is bent, And before the stress of war.
16 Hae tiah Angraeng mah kai khaeah thuih, Tangka hoi thlai ih tamna toksakhaih saning to kroek pae baktih toengah, saningto thungah, Kedar vangpui lensawkhaih to azaem tih boeh.
For, thus, hath My Lord said unto me, —Within a year according to the yearn of a hireling, shall fail all the glory of Kedar;
17 Kanghmat kalii sin kaminawk hoi thacak Kedar misatuh kaminawk loe, kami tamsi o tih, tiah thuih; Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah to tiah thuih boeh.
And, the remnant of the record of bowmen, The heroes of the sons of Kedar, shall become few; For Yahweh God of Israel, hath spoken.
