< Isaiah 20 >
1 Assyria siangpahrang Sargon mah, Ashdod to tuk moe, lak hanah, Ashdod ah misatuh angraeng kalen koek Tartan patoehhaih saning ah,
In the year of the coming in of Tartan to Ashdod, when Sargon king of Asshur sendeth him, and he fighteth against Ashdod, and captureth it,
2 Angraeng mah Amoz capa Isaiah patohhaih rang hoiah lok to thuih; Na kaeng pong ih kazii to angkhring ah loe, na khok pong ih khokpanai to angkhring ah, tiah a naa. A thuih ih lok batih toengah anih mah sak, anih loe khokpanai abuen ai, bangkai ah a caeh.
at that time spake Jehovah by the hand of Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, 'Go, and thou hast loosed the sackcloth from off thy loins, and thy sandal thou dost draw from off thy foot,' and he doth so, going naked and barefoot.
3 To naah Angraeng mah, Izip prae hoi Ethiopia kaminawk nuiah angmathaih hoi dawnraihaih to amtuengsak hanah, ka tamna Isaiah mah khokpanai abuen ai, bangkrai ah saning thumto thung lamcaeh baktih toengah,
And Jehovah saith, 'As My servant Isaiah hath gone naked and barefoot three years, a sign and a wonder for Egypt and for Cush,
4 Izip kaminawk azatsak hanah, Assyria siangpahrang mah, saning kanawk, saning kacoeh tih ai, Izip kaminawk to thongim krah kaminawk baktih, Ethiopia kaminawk doeh naeh ih kaminawk baktiah, khokpanai abuen ai, bangkrai ah caeh o haih ving tih.
so doth the king of Asshur lead the captivity of Egypt, and the removal of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot, with seat uncovered — the nakedness of Egypt;
5 Nihcae loe zii o tih; nihcae angoephaih Ethiopia hoi nihcae amoekhaih Izip prae loe azathaih tongh o tih.
and they have been affrighted and ashamed of Cush their confidence, and of Egypt their beauty,
6 To na niah hae tuipui thungah kaom kaminawk mah, Khenah, aicae loe Assyria siangpahrang ban thung hoi kawbangmaw cawnh moe, loih thai han? tiah thui o tih.
and the inhabitant of this isle hath said in that day — Lo, thus [is] our trust, Whither we have fled for help, To be delivered from the king of Asshur, And how do we escape — we?'
