< Isaiah 15 >

1 Moab kawng pongah thuih ih lok loe, Moab prae ih Ar avang loe qumto thungah phraek moe, amro boeh! Qumto thungah Moab prae ih Kir avang to phraek moe, amro boeh!
A message about Moab. The town of Ar in Moab is devastated, destroyed in a single night! The town of Kir in Moab is devastated, destroyed in a single night!
2 Prae kaminawk loe Bajith hoi Dibon vangpui ah caeh o moe, qah hanah hmuensang ah caeh o tahang; Moab kaminawk loe Nebo hoi Medeba nuiah hang o; lu sam to aah o moe, toektaboe mui doeh aah o boih.
The people of Dibon go up to their temple to weep at its high places. The Moabites weep over the towns of Nebo and Medeba. Every head has been shaved, every beard has been cut off in mourning.
3 Loklamnawk ah kazii to angzaeng o, imphu nui hoi lamkrungnawk ah a hang o moe, tha hoiah qah o.
They wear sackcloth in their streets. On the rooftops and in the open squares they all weep, falling down crying.
4 Heshbon hoi Elealeh hnik loe qah hoi; nihnik qahhaih lok loe Jahaz hoiah mataeng doeh angthaih: to pongah maiphaw maica hoi amthoep Moab misatuh kaminawk doeh, zithaih hoiah qah o toeng.
The people of Heshbon and Elealeh cry out in sadness, their voices heard as far as Jahaz. That's why even the bravest soldiers of Moab shout—because they're so terrified.
5 Ka palung mah Moab to qah haih, kacawn kaminawk loe saning thumto kaom maitaw tala baktiah Zoar vangpui karoek to cawnh o; qahhaih hoiah Luhith mae nuiah a dawh o tahang; Horonaim caehhaih loklam bangah doeh amrohaih lok to oh.
I weep over Moab. Moabite refugees run all the way to Zoar and to Eglath-shelishiyah. Weeping they go up Luhith hill; crying for their destruction they walk along the road to Horonaim.
6 Nimrim ih tuinawk loe kang boih boeh, qamnawk doeh zaek o boih boeh; phrohnawk to om ai boeh, kahing phroh roe om ai boeh.
The waters of Nimrim have all dried up. The grass is withered, all the vegetation has disappeared—nothing green is left.
7 To pongah Moab kaminawk loe a tawnh o ih hmuennawk hoi patung o ih hmuenmaenawk to kazam phroh kung ohhaih Arabia azawn bangah phaw o ving tih.
Everything they had gained, all their possessions, they have to carry across Willow River.
8 Nihcae qahhaih lok loe Moab ramri khoek to amsongh; nihcae qahhaih lok loe Eglaim khoek to angthaih, palungset qahhaih lok loe Beer-Elim khoek to amthang.
Their cry of grief echoes through the whole country of Moab; their wailing and mourning extends all the way from Eglaim to Beer-elim.
9 Dimon ih tuinawk loe athii hoiah koi: toe kanung aep hmuen to Dimon vangpui nuiah ka sak han vop, Moab hoiah kaloih kami hoi anghmat kaminawk khaeah kaipui to ka patoeh han.
River Dimon is full of blood, but I will bring more upon the town of Dimon—a lion to attack the Moabite refugees and those who are left in the country.
