< Isaiah 14 >
1 Angraeng loe Jakob to tahmen moe, Israel to qoih let pongah, angmacae prae thungah omsak let tih; angvin ah kaom kaminawk loe nihcae hoi angbomh o ueloe, Jakob imthung takoh hoi ampui ah om o tih.
For the LORD will have compassion on Jacob; once again He will choose Israel and settle them in their own land. The foreigner will join them and unite with the house of Jacob.
2 Prae kalah kaminawk mah nihcae to angmacae prae ah thak o tih; Israel kaminawk mah prae kalah kaminawk to Angraeng prae thungah suem ueloe, misong nongpa hoi misong nongpata ah tawn o tih; naeh tangcae kaminawk doeh naeh o let ueloe, nihcae pacaekthlaek kaminawk to uk o tih.
The nations will escort Israel and bring it to its homeland. Then the house of Israel will possess the nations as menservants and maidservants in the LORD’s land. They will make captives of their captors and rule over their oppressors.
3 To na niah loe Angraeng mah palungsethaih, zithaih, minawk toksak hanah misong ah patohhaih hoiah nang to loisak tih.
On the day that the LORD gives you rest from your pain and torment, and from the hard labor into which you were forced,
4 Babylon siangpahrang to pahnui thuih hanah, palungha kaminawk mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, Kawbangmaw pacaekthlaekkung loe thazok sut moe, sui hoiah sak ih vangpui loe amro ving halat! tiah thui o tih boeh.
you will sing this song of contempt against the king of Babylon: How the oppressor has ceased, and how his fury has ended!
5 Palungphuihaih hoiah apet ai ah minawk bop kami, palungphuihaih hoiah prae uk kami, apet ai ah minawk pacaekthlaek, kasae kaminawk ih thingboeng to Angraeng mah khaeh pae moe, ukkungnawk ih cunghet doeh adaem pae boeh.
The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers.
It struck the peoples in anger with unceasing blows; it subdued the nations in rage with relentless persecution.
7 Long boih anghngai o duem boeh moe, amding rue boeh; to pongah nihcae mah laa to sak o.
All the earth is at peace and at rest; they break out in song.
8 Ue, hmaica thing hoi Lebanon ih sidar thingnawk doeh anghoe o, Nang loe amtimh boeh pongah, kaicae pakhrukung mi doeh angzo mak ai boeh, tiah a thuih o.
Even the cypresses and cedars of Lebanon exult over you: “Since you have been laid low, no woodcutter comes against us.”
9 Long thung ih Hell loe nang angzoh naah dawt hanah anghuenh boeh; nang dawt hanah kadueh kaminawk hoi long angraengnawk to pahruek boih boeh; prae boih ih siangpahrangnawk doeh angraeng tangkhang nui hoiah angthawksak boeh. (Sheol )
Sheol beneath is eager to meet you upon your arrival. It stirs the spirits of the dead to greet you— all the rulers of the earth. It makes all the kings of the nations rise from their thrones. (Sheol )
10 Nihcae boih mah nang khaeah, Nang doeh kaicae baktih maw tha na zok toengh? Kaicae baktiah maw na oh toeng boeh? tiah naa o tih.
They will all respond to you, saying, “You too have become weak, as we are; you have become like us!”
11 Na lensawkhaih hoi na kruek ih katoengnawk loe taprong thungah laemh o tathuk boih boeh; langkawknawk loe nang tlim ah pung o moe, sadong mah nang to khuk khoep boeh. (Sheol )
Your pomp has been brought down to Sheol, along with the music of your harps. Maggots are your bed and worms your blanket. (Sheol )
12 Aw Lucifer, akhawnbang capa, kawbangmaw van hoiah na krak tathuk ving! Prae kaminawk thazoksakkung, kawbangmaw long ah na khrak tathuk ving loe!
How you have fallen from heaven, O day star, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O destroyer of nations.
13 Na palung thungah loe van ah ka dawh tahang moe, Sithaw ih cakaehnawk nuiah kang raenghaih tangkhang to ka pahung han; aluek bang ih ahmuen, kaminawk anghnuthaih mae nuiah doeh kang hnut han;
You said in your heart: “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God. I will sit on the mount of assembly, in the far reaches of the north.
14 kasang tamai ranui ah ka dawh tahang moe, ranui koekah ka oh han, tiah na thuih na ai maw!
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”
15 Toe nang loe tangqom kathuk taeng ih hell ah pakhrak tathuk boeh. (Sheol )
But you will be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit. (Sheol )
16 Nang khen kaminawk mah nang to ang danh o moe, dawnrai o; hae loe long anghuensak kami, siangpahrang ukhaihnawk tasoehsak kami na ai maw,
Those who see you will stare; they will ponder your fate: “Is this the man who shook the earth and made the kingdoms tremble,
17 anih loe long to praezaek ah angcoengsak kami, vangpuinawk amrosak kami hoi thongkrah kaminawk prawt han koeh ai kami na ai maw? tiah thuih o.
who turned the world into a desert and destroyed its cities, who refused to let the captives return to their homes?”
18 Prae kaminawk ih siangpahrangnawk loe angmacae ih im ah lensawkhaih hoiah angsong o boih.
All the kings of the nations lie in state, each in his own tomb.
19 Toe nang loe panuet thok thing tanghang baktiah, nangmah ih taprong hoiah vah ving boeh; nang loe hum ih kaminawk, sumsen hoi thun ih kaminawk, tangqom thung ih thlungnawk salakah caeh tathuk kaminawk ih kahni baktiah na oh moe, khok hoi atit ih kami qok baktiah ni na oh boeh.
But you are cast out of your grave like a rejected branch, covered by those slain with the sword, and dumped into a rocky pit like a carcass trampled underfoot.
20 Prae to na phraek moe, kaminawk to na hum pongah, nang loe minawk hoi nawnto aphum o mak ai; kasae sah kami ih caanawk loe natuek naah doeh ahmin panoek lethaih om mak ai boeh.
You will not join them in burial, since you have destroyed your land and slaughtered your own people. The offspring of the wicked will never again be mentioned.
21 Ampanawk mah sakpazae o pongah a caanawk hum hanah ahmuen to sah o coek ah; to tih ai nahaeloe nihcae loe prae qawk toep hanah angthawk o let ueloe, long hae nihcae mah sak o ih vangpuinawk hoiah koi moeng tih.
Prepare a place to slaughter his sons for the iniquities of their forefathers. They will never rise up to possess a land or cover the earth with their cities.
22 Nihcae tuk hanah kang thawk han, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih; anih ih ahmin, kanghmat kami ih capa hoi a capa patoengnawk to Babylon hoiah ka vah boih han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
“I will rise up against them,” declares the LORD of Hosts. “I will cut off from Babylon her name and her remnant, her offspring and her posterity,”
23 To ahmuen to ciphii ohhaih ahmuen ah ka sak moe, tui angbuemhaih ahmuen ah ka sak han; anih to amrohaih imphok hoiah ka pahuih han, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih.
“I will make her a place for owls and for swamplands; I will sweep her away with the broom of destruction,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
24 Angraeng Sithaw mah lokkamhaih to ka sak moe, Sak han ka poek ih hmuen baktiah angcoeng tangtang tih, sak ka timhaih baktih toengah, angdoe tangtang tih, tiah thuih.
The LORD of Hosts has sworn: “Surely, as I have planned, so will it be; as I have purposed, so will it stand.
25 Assyria to ka prae thung hoiah kam rosak moe, kai ih maenawk nuiah anih to khok hoiah ka tit han; kaimah ih kaminawk khae ih anih hmuen phawhhaih hnam to ka khring pae moe, anih ih kazit hmuen to kaimah kaminawk ih palaeng hoiah ka tahoengh pae han, tiah a thuih.
I will break Assyria in My land; I will trample him on My mountain. His yoke will be taken off My people, and his burden removed from their shoulders.”
26 Long pum hanah thuih ih sak atimhaih lok loe hae tiah oh; prae kaminawk boih nuiah ban to ka payangh.
This is the plan devised for the whole earth, and this is the hand stretched out over all the nations.
27 Angraeng mah sak han atim boeh loe, mi mah maw phrae thai tih? A ban to payangh boeh loe, mi mah maw azuk pae let thai tih?
The LORD of Hosts has purposed, and who can thwart Him? His hand is outstretched, so who can turn it back?
28 Ahaz siangpahrang duek naah hae lok hae angzoh;
In the year that King Ahaz died, this burden was received:
29 nangcae Philistin kaminawk, nangcae bohhaih cung to angkhaeh boeh pongah, anghoe o hmah; pahui tabu thung hoiah pahui kasae to khaek tih, anih ih caa loe kazawk thaih hmai kangqong pahui ah om tih.
Do not rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken. For a viper will spring from the root of the snake, and a flying serpent from its egg.
30 Kamtang koek kaminawk mah caaknaek to hnu o tih; kavawt kaminawk doeh misa monghaih hoiah angsong o tih; toe nang ih tangzuun loe khokhahaih hoiah ka dueksak han; nang ih kanghmat kaminawk to pahui sae mah paduek tih.
Then the firstborn of the poor will find pasture, and the needy will lie down in safety, but I will kill your root by famine, and your remnant will be slain.
31 Aw khongkha, hang ah! Aw vangpui, qah ah! Nangcae, Philistin kaminawk boih, tui ah amzawt oh! Aluek bang hoiah tamai to amzam moe, angmah ih atue phak naah angmabueng amkhraeng kami mi doeh om mak ai.
Wail, O gate! Cry out, O city! Melt away, all you Philistines! For a cloud of smoke comes from the north, and there are no stragglers in its ranks.
32 Prae laicaehnawk to kawbangmaw lok na pathim pae han? Angraeng mah Zion to ohsak pongah, angmah ih amtang kaminawk loe to vangpui thungah abuep o tih, tiah ka thuih pae o han.
What answer will be given to the envoys of that nation? “The LORD has founded Zion, where His afflicted people will find refuge.”
