< Isaiah 13 >
1 Babylon kawng pongah Amoz capa Isaiah mah hnuk ih hmuen loe,
The burden of Babylon that Isaiah son of Amoz hath seen:
2 maesang nuiah kahni to payang ah loe, nihcae to hang thui ah; angraengnawk ih khongkha thungah akun o thai hanah, ban hoiah kawk oh.
'On a high mountain lift ye up an ensign, Raise the voice to them, wave the hand, And they go in to the openings of nobles.
3 Ka ciimsak ih kaminawk to ka kawk moe, palung ka phuihaih akoepsak hanah, ka lensawkhaih ah anghoe kami, thacak misatuh kaminawk doeh ka kawk boeh.
I have given charge to My sanctified ones, Also I have called My mighty ones for Mine anger, Those rejoicing at Mine excellency.'
4 Maenawk nui ih lok loe kanoih parai kaminawk oh lok baktiah oh! Prae kaminawk nawnto amkhuenghaih lok to oh! Angraeng Sithaw loe misatuk hanah misatuh kaminawk to pakhueng boeh.
A voice of a multitude in the mountains, A likeness of a numerous people, A voice of noise from the kingdoms of nations who are gathered, Jehovah of Hosts inspecting a host of battle!
5 Angraeng hoi anih palungphuihaih maiphawnawk loe prae to phraek boih hanah, kangthla parai prae, van boenghaih hoiah angzoh o.
They are coming in from a land afar off, From the end of the heavens, Jehovah and the instruments of His indignation, To destroy all the land.
6 Angraeng ih ani loe zoi boeh pongah, qah oh; to ani loe Thacak Angraeng khae hoi kangzo amrohaih baktiah om tih.
Howl ye, for near [is] the day of Jehovah, As destruction from the Mighty it cometh.
7 Hae tiah oh pongah kami ih bannawk loe thazok o boih tih, kami ih palungthinnawk doeh tui ah amkaw boih tih.
Therefore, all hands do fail, And every heart of man doth melt.
8 Zithaih mah nihcae to ayaw khoep ueloe, nathaih hoi palungsethaih to tong o tih; nongpata caa oh tom nathuem ih kana baktiah kana panoek o tih; nihcae loe maeto hoi maeto dawnraihaih hoiah angkhen o tih, nihcae ih mikhmai loe hmai kamngaeh baktiah om tih.
And they have been troubled, Pains and pangs they take, As a travailing woman they are pained, A man at his friend they marvel, The appearance of flames — their faces!
9 Khenah, Angraeng ih ani loe angzo tih boeh, to ani loe ni kasae, kanung parai palungphuihaih niah om tih; athung ih kaminawk to anih mah paduek tih.
Lo, the day of Jehovah doth come, Fierce, with wrath, and heat of anger, To make the land become a desolation, Yea, its sinning ones He destroyeth from it.
10 Van ih cakaehnawk hoi a taengah kaom hmuennawk doeh aang o mak ai boeh; tacawt tahang ni loe ving ueloe, khrah doeh aang mak ai boeh.
For the stars of the heavens, and their constellations, Cause not their light to shine, Darkened hath been the sun in its going out, And the moon causeth not its light to come forth.
11 Sethaih pongah long hae ka thuitaek moe, angmacae sakpazaehaih pongah kasae kaminawk to ka thuitaek han; poeksang kaminawk amoekhaih to ka boengsak moe, hmawsaeng kaminawk ih amoekhaih doeh atlim ah ka pakhrak pae tathuk han.
And I have appointed on the world evil, And on the wicked their iniquity, And have caused to cease the excellency of the proud, And the excellency of the terrible I make low.
12 Kami to kaciim suitui pongah atho om kue ah ka sak moe, sui hoiah sak ih Ophir pongah doeh atho ka ohsak kue han.
I make man more rare than fine gold, And a common man than pure gold of Ophir.
13 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng palungphuihaih ni, kanung parai anih palungphuihaih niah, van to ka huenh han, long loe a ohhaih ahmuen hoiah angthui ving tih.
Therefore the heavens I cause to tremble, And the earth doth shake from its place, In the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts, And in a day of the heat of his anger.
14 Prae kaminawk loe patom ih sakhi baktih, toepkung om ai tuu baktiah, kami boih angmah ih kaminawk khaeah amlaem o ueloe, angmacae ohhaih prae ah cawn o tih.
And it hath been, as a roe driven away, And as a flock that hath no gatherer, Each unto his people — they turn, And each unto his land — they flee.
15 Hnuk ih kaminawk to tayae hoi thun o ueloe, naeh ih kaminawk boih doeh sumsen hoiah hum o tih.
Every one who is found is thrust through, And every one who is added falleth by sword.
16 A caanawk loe angmacae mikhnuk ah long to va o haih ueloe, imnawk to phrae pae o tih, a zunawk doeh muk pae o tih.
And their sucklings are dashed to pieces before their eyes, Spoiled are their houses, and their wives lain with.
17 Khenah, tangka to tiah doeh kapoek ai, sui doeh dawncang ai, Median kaminawk to nihcae tuk hanah misa kang thawksak han.
Lo, I am stirring up against them the Medes, Who silver esteem not, And gold — they delight not in it.
18 Nihcae mah thendoengnawk to kalii hoiah kaat o tih; tapen kangtha nawktanawk doeh tahmen o mak ai, nihcae loe nawktanawk tahmenhaih mik roe tawn o mak ai.
And bows dash young men to pieces, And the fruit of the womb they pity not, On sons their eye hath no pity.
19 Siangpahrang ukhaih praenawk thungah lensawk, Babylon, Khaldia kaminawk amoekhaih loe, Sithaw mah phraek ih Sodom hoi Gomorrah vangpui baktiah om boih tih boeh.
And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, The glory, the excellency of the Chaldeans, Hath been as overthrown by God, With Sodom and with Gomorrah.
20 To vangpui thungah mi doeh khosah o mak ai, a caanawk dung khoek to to ah kami om mak ai boeh; Arab kaminawk mah doeh to ahmuen ah kahni im sah o mak ai, tuu toepkungnawk mah doeh to ahmuen ah tuu toephaih im to sah o mak ai.
She doth not sit for ever, Nor continueth unto many generations, Nor doth Arab pitch tent there, And shepherds lie not down there.
21 Toe praezaek ih kasan moinawk ni to ahmuen ah om o tih, nihcae ih imthung loe tasuinawk hoiah koi o tih; to ah bukbuhnawk to om o ueloe, satharnawk doeh to ah amhai o tih.
And Ziim have lain down there, And full have been their houses of howlings, And dwelt there have daughters of an ostrich, And goats do skip there.
22 Nihcae ohhaih imsang hoiah taw uinawk to uuk o tih, kahoih parai siangpahrang imthung ah doeh tasuinawk ni om o tih boeh; to baktih atue loe zoi boeh, to ani loe akra mak ai boeh.
And Aiim have responded in his forsaken habitations, And dragons in palaces of delight, And near to come [is] her time, And her days are not drawn out!
