< Hosea 7 >

1 Israel ngan ka tuisak naah, Ephraim zaehaih to amtueng ueloe, Samaria poeksethaih doeh amtueng tih. Nihcae mah kami aling o pongah, kamqu imthung ah angzoh moe, mingcahnawk mah tasa bang ih hmuenmaenawk to lomh pae o.
When I would heal Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, also the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief enters in, and the gang of robbers ravages outside.
2 Toe nihcae mah sak o ih sethaih to ka panoek pae boih, tito nihcae mah poek o ai; a sak o ih hmuen mah nihcae to takui khoep boeh; nihcae loe ka hmaa ah ni oh o.
They do not consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness. Now their own deeds have engulfed them. They are before my face.
3 A set o haih mah siangpahrang to anghoe o sak moe, lok amlai o haih hoiah ukkung angraengnawk to anghoe o sak.
They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
4 Nihcae loe tamquta hoi zaehaih sah kami ah oh o moe, takaw haek kami mah camphaek laom hmai pangaeh ih baktiah oh o; takaw naep kami mah takaw to naep naah, takaw naep boih ai karoek to hmai kamngaeh azuh baktiah a oh o.
They are all adulterers. They are burning like an oven that the baker stops stirring, from the kneading of the dough, until it is leavened.
5 Aicae siangpahrang ih poih niah anih ih toksah ukkung angraengnawk loe misurtui to paquih o; siangpahrang loe minawk mah pahnuithui ih kaminawk hoi nawnto amyok.
On the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine. He joined his hand with mockers.
6 Nihcae mah anih to zing o naah, palungthin to takoeng hmai baktiah a suek o; nihcae han takaw haek pae kami loe qum puek a iih; akhawnbang phak naah loe hmai kangqong baktiah angqongh.
For they have prepared their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their anger smolders all night. In the morning it burns as a flaming fire.
7 Nihcae loe omthu baktiah bet o boih moe, angmacae lokcaekkungnawk doeh kangh boih; nihcae ih siangpahrangnawk doeh amtimh o boih boeh. Nihcae thungah kai kawk kami mi doeh om o ai.
They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen. There is no one among them who calls to me.
8 Ephraim loe kaminawk hoi angbaeh moe, nawnto khosak; Ephraim loe qoi ai ah ahap khue hmai paaem ih takaw karoem baktiah ni oh.
Ephraim mixes himself among the nations. Ephraim is a pancake not turned over.
9 Minawk kalah mah anih ih tha to caak pae o, toe anih mah panoek ai; ue, a lu nui ih sam doeh pok boeh, toe anih mah panoek ai.
Strangers have devoured his strength, and he does not realize it. Indeed, gray hairs are here and there on him, and he does not realize it.
10 Israel amoekhaih loe a mikhmai ah amtueng, toe nihcae loe angmacae ih Angraeng khaeah amlaem o ai, anih to pakrong o ai.
The pride of Israel testifies to his face; yet they have not returned to the LORD their God, nor sought him, for all this.
11 Ephraim loe poekhaih tawn ai, pahu baktiah oh: Izip to kawk o moe, Assyria khaeah caeh o.
“Ephraim is like an easily deceived dove, without understanding. They call to Egypt. They go to Assyria.
12 Nihcae caeh o naah, palok hoi ka haengh han; nihcae to van ih tavaanawk baktiah ka zaeh tathuk han; angmacae ih kaminawk mah thaih o ih baktih toengah, nihcae to ka thuitaek han.
When they go, I will spread my net on them. I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.
13 Nihcae loe Kai khae hoi cawnh o ving boeh pongah, khosak bing o boeh! Ka nuiah zaehaih a sak o pongah, nihcae loe anghmat o boeh. Nihcae to ka krang boeh, toe kai khaeah amsawnlok a thuih o.
Woe to them! For they have wandered from me. Destruction to them! For they have trespassed against me. Though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
14 Nihcae iihkhun ah qah o naah, palungthin tang hoi kai khaeah hang o ai. Nihcae loe cang hoi misurtui hak hanah nawnto amkhueng o, toe ka lok to aek o.
They have not cried to me with their heart, but they howl on their beds. They assemble themselves for grain and new wine. They turn away from me.
15 Nihcae to ka thuitaek moe, bantha ka caksak, toe nihcae mah ka nuiah kasae sak han pacaeng o lat.
Though I have taught and strengthened their arms, yet they plot evil against me.
16 Nihcae loe angqoi o, toe kasang koek khaeah angqoi o ai; nihcae loe kamro thaih kalii hoiah ni anghmong o boeh: angmacae ukkung angraengnawk loe angmacae tangoenghaih lok pongah sumsen hoiah dueh o tih. Nihcae loe Izip kaminawk mah pahnui o thui tih.
They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a faulty bow. Their princes will fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.
