< Hebru 4 >
1 To pongah Anih anghakhaih thungah akun han lokkamhaih oh to mah, aicae loe akun ai ah om moeng tih, tiah mawn han oh.
Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be deemed to have fallen short of it.
2 Nihcae khaeah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, aicae khaeah doeh kahoih tamthanglok to thuih boeh: toe lok thaih kaminawk ih palung thungah tanghaih om ai pongah, nihcae han atho om ai.
For we also received the good news just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, since they did not share the faith of those who comprehended it.
3 Long sak amtong tangsuek nathuem hoiah boeh ni tok loe sak pacoeng boeh, toe Anih mah, Nihcae loe kang hakhaih thungah akun o thai mak ai, tiah palungphuihaih hoiah kasae lokkamhaih to ka sak boeh: tanghaih katawn aicae khue ni anghakhaihthungah a kun o tih, tiah thuih.
Now we who have believed enter that rest. As for the others, it is just as God has said: “So I swore on oath in My anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.’” And yet His works have been finished since the foundation of the world.
4 Cabu thung ih ahmuen maeto pongah loe ni sarihto kawng to hae tiah thuih, Sithaw loe toksak boih pacoeng ni sarihto naah anghak.
For somewhere He has spoken about the seventh day in this manner: “And on the seventh day God rested from all His works.”
5 To pacoengah, Nihcae loe kang hakhaih thungah akun o mak ai, tiah a thuih let bae.
And again, as He says in the passage above: “They shall never enter My rest.”
6 To pongah thoemto kaminawk loe akun o tih, toe kahoih tamthanglok taphong hmaloe ih kaminawk loe tang o ai pongah, akun o thai mak ai.
Since, then, it remains for some to enter His rest, and since those who formerly heard the good news did not enter because of their disobedience,
7 Saning akra parai pacoengah Sithaw mah David khaeah, Vaihni, tiah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, Vaihniah a lok na thaih o nahaeloe, na palungthin to amtak o sak hmah, tiah thuih pae let.
God again designated a certain day as “Today,” when a long time later He spoke through David as was just stated: “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”
8 Jesu mah nihcae han anghakhaih paek boeh nahaeloe, Sithaw mah kalah anghakhaih ni to thuih let han angai mak ai boeh.
For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.
9 Toe Sithaw kaminawk hanah loe anghakhaih to oh vop.
There remains, then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
10 Sithaw mah a toksakhaih hoiah anghak baktih toengah, Sithaw anghakhaih thungah akun kami doeh a toksakhaih boih thung hoiah anghak toeng.
For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His.
11 To pongah mi kawbaktih doeh tang ai kaminawk baktiah amtim o han ai ah, to anghakhaih thungah akun han tha pathok o si.
Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.
12 Sithaw lok loe hing moe, thacak, aha hnetto kaom sumsen pongah doeh noet kue, hinghaih hoi muithla, ahuh hoi tangkhring doeh pakhoih thaih, poekhaih hoi palung thungah atimhaihnawk doeh panoek thaih.
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
13 Sak ih hmuen Anih hmaa ah amtueng ai tidoeh om ai: aicae lokcaek han kaom anih hmaa ah loe hmuennawk boih kamong tangcae bangkrai ah ni oh.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
14 Van ah kacaeh, kalen koek qaima, Sithaw Capa Jesu to a tawnh o pongah, a tawnh o ih tanghaih hae kacakah patawn o si.
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess.
15 Aicae ih qaima loe aicae thazokhaihnawk to panoek thai boih; Anih loe aicae mah tong ih baktih toengah pacuekhaih congca to tong toeng, toe zaehaih tawn ai.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin.
16 To pongah aicae loe angaih naah palungnathaih hoi tahmenhaih a hnuk o thai hanah, tahmenhaih angraeng tangkhang bangah misahoihaih hoiah anghnai o si.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
