< Haggai 2 >

1 Khrah sarihto haih, ni pumphaeto pacoeng, nito naah, Tahmaa Haggai khae hoi Angraeng ih lok to angzoh;
On the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet, saying:
2 Shealtiel capa, Judah prae ukkung, Zerubbabel hoi Jehosadak capa, kalen koek qaima Joshua hoi anghmat kaminawk khaeah,
“Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and also to the remnant of the people. Ask them,

‘Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not appear to you like nothing in comparison?’
4 Toe Aw Zerubbabel, vaihi na thacaksak ah, tiah Angraeng mah thuih; Jehosadak capa, kalen koek qaima Joshua hoi prae thungah kaom nangcae ih kaminawk boih, na thacak o sak loe, tok to sah oh, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih. Kai loe nangcae hoi nawnto oh:
But now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the LORD. Be strong, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strong, all you people of the land, declares the LORD. Work! For I am with you, declares the LORD of Hosts.
5 Izip prae thung hoiah nang zoh o naah, nangcae hoi lokmaihaih ka sak ih baktih toengah, ka Muithla nangcae salakah oh: zii o hmah, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih.
This is the promise I made to you when you came out of Egypt. And My Spirit remains among you; do not be afraid.”
6 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih; nawnetta oh pacoengah, van hoi long, tuipui hoi saoengnawk to vaito ka huenh han vop;
For this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.

I will shake all the nations, and they will come with all their treasures, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of Hosts.
8 Sum kanglung loe kai ih hmuen ah oh, sui doeh kai ih ni, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih:
The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, declares the LORD of Hosts.

The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former, says the LORD of Hosts. And in this place I will provide peace, declares the LORD of Hosts.”
10 Darius siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hnet, khrah takawt, ni pumphae palito naah, Tahmaa Haggai khaeah Angraeng ih lok to angzoh,
On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Haggai the prophet, saying,
11 misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih; Sithaw lok mah timaw thuih, tito qaimanawk khaeah dueng oh,
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Ask the priests for a ruling.
12 kami maeto mah kaciim ah sin ih moi to angmah ih kahni hoiah tapawk, a tapawk ih kahni hoiah takaw maw, moi maw, misurtui maw, situi maw, to tih ai boeh loe kawbaktih caaknaek maw sui nahaeloe ciim tih maw? tiah dueng oh, tiah a naa. To naah qaimanawk mah, Ciim mak ai, tiah a pathim pae o.
If a man carries consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and it touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any other food, does that item become holy?’” “No,” replied the priests.
13 To pacoengah Haggai mah, Kadueh qok sui kami maeto mah hae ih hmuennawk hae sui nahaeloe ciimcai ai ah om mak ai maw? tiah a naa. To naah qimanawk mah ciimcai ai ah ni om tih, tiah pathim pae o.
So Haggai asked, “If one who is defiled by contact with a corpse touches any of these, does it become defiled?” “Yes, it becomes defiled,” the priests answered.
14 To naah Haggai mah, Hae kaminawk hoi acaengnawk loe ka hmaa ah to tiah ni oh o, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih; a sak o ih hmuennawk hoi a paek o ih hmuennawk loe ciim ai.
Then Haggai replied, “So it is with this people and this nation before Me, declares the LORD, and so it is with every work of their hands; whatever they offer there is defiled.
15 To pongah vaihni hoi kamtong kahoih ah poek oh; canghni ah loe Angraeng ih tempul thungah thlung maeto pacoeng maeto pahong o.
Now consider carefully from this day forward: Before one stone was placed on another in the temple of the LORD,
16 Canghnii ah loe kami maeto mah cang benthang pumphaeto tacawthaih ahmuen ah caeh naah, benthang hato khue ni a hak: kami maeto mah misurtui laom qui pangato pasawhhaih ahmuen ah caeh naah, laom pumphaeto khue ni a hak.
from that time, when one came expecting a heap of twenty ephahs of grain, there were but ten. When one came to the winepress to draw out fifty baths, there were but twenty.
17 Na ban hoi sak ih toknawk boih to kai mah, dantui hoi qaetui hoiah dankang paek o, toe kai khaeah nam laem o ai, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
I struck you—all the work of your hands—with blight, mildew, and hail, but you did not turn to Me, declares the LORD.
18 Vaihni ni hoi kamtong, khrah takawtto haih, ni pumphaeto pacoeng, ni palito, Angraeng ih tempul sakhaih ni hoi kamtong, kahoih ah pakoep oh:
Consider carefully from this day forward—from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, the day the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid—consider carefully:

Is there still seed in the barn? The vine, the fig, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yet yielded fruit. But from this day on, I will bless you.”
20 To natheum ih khrah, ni pumphae palito naah, Haggai khaeah Angraeng ih lok angzoh let,
For the second time that day, the twenty-fourth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to Haggai, saying,
21 Judah prae ukkung, Zerubbabel khaeah, Kai mah van hoi long to ka huen han;
“Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah that I am about to shake the heavens and the earth:
22 siangpahrangnawk ih angraeng tangkhang to buenglueng tamlet ah ka pakhup pae moe, Sithaw panoek ai prae kaminawk thacakhaih to ka phraek pae han; hrang lakok hoi a nuiah angthueng kaminawk to ka palet pae han; hrang hoi a nuiah angthueng kaminawk loe angmacae nawkamyanawk ih sumsen hoiah dueh o tih, tiah a thuih, tiah thui paeh, tiah a naa.
I will overturn royal thrones and destroy the power of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overturn chariots and their riders; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.
23 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih, to na niah loe Aw Shealtiel capa, ka tamna, Zerubbabel, nang to kang lak han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih; nang to ka qoih boeh pongah, sui bantuek baktiah kang sak han, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih, tiah a naa.
On that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, I will take you, My servant, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, declares the LORD, and I will make you like My signet ring, for I have chosen you, declares the LORD of Hosts.”
