1 Hae loe Shigionoth nuiah Tahmaa Habakkuk lawkthuihaih ah oh.
A Prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.
2 Aw Angraeng, na thuih ih lok to ka thaih boeh moe, ka zit: Aw Angraeng, kaicae dung ah na sak ih tok to angthasak let ah loe, kaicae ih atue thuem ah panoeksak ah; palung na phui cadoeh palungnathaih to tawn rae ah.
Jehovah, I heard the report of thee, [and] I feared. Jehovah, revive thy work in the midst of the years, In the midst of the years make [it] known: In wrath remember mercy!
3 Sithaw loe Teman hoiah angzoh, Kaciim Sithaw loe Paran mae nui hoiah angzoh. (Selah) A lensawkhaih mah vannawk to khuk, long loe anih pakoehhaih hoiah koi.
God came from Teman, And the Holy One from mount Paran. (Selah) His glory covereth the heavens, And the earth is full of his praise.
4 Anih ih aanghaih loe ni baktiah oh, takiinawk loe a ban hoiah tacawt o: kanghawk a thacakhaih loe a ban thungah oh.
And [his] brightness was as the light; Rays [came forth] from his hand; And there was the hiding of his power.
5 A hmaa ah kasae nathaih to caeh moe, hmai kangqong nathaih mah a caehhaih to pazui.
Before him went the pestilence, And a burning flame went forth at his feet.
6 Anih loe angdoet moe, long to a tah; a khet moe, prae kaminawk to tasoehsak: dungzan ah kacak maenawk loe koih o phaeng moe, kacak maesomnawk doeh tanimh o: a caehhaih loklamnawk loe dungzan khoek to cak.
He stood, and measured the earth; He beheld, and discomfited the nations; And the eternal mountains were scattered, The everlasting hills gave way: His ways are everlasting.
7 Pacaekthlaekhaih hoi Kushan ih imnawk to ka hnuk; Midian prae pakaahaih kahni loe ang sih vak boeh.
I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; The curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.
8 Aw Angraeng, tuipuinawk nuiah palung nang hoe ai maw? Tuipuinawk nuiah palung na phui maw? Nangmah ih hrangnawk to nang thueng moe, pahlonghaih hrang lakoknawk to nang thueng naah, tuipui nuiah palung na phui maw?
Was Jehovah wrathful with the rivers? Was thine anger against the rivers? Was thy rage against the sea, That thou didst ride upon thy horses, Thy chariots of salvation?
9 Na lok baktih, acaengnawk lokkamhaih baktih toengah, nangmah ih kalii to na suek coek boeh. (Selah) Tuipuinawk to long hoiah na tacawtsak.
Thy bow was made naked, The rods [of discipline] sworn according to [thy] word. (Selah) Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.
10 Maenawk mah nang ang hnuk o naah, tasoeh o; tui loe long moe, laemh boih boeh: kathuk tuipui loe hangh moe, a ban to payangh tahang.
The mountains saw thee, they were in travail: Torrents of waters passed by; The deep uttered its voice, Lifted up its hands on high.
11 Nang ih kampha kalii hoi kampha tayae to takhawh naah, ni hoi khrah mataeng doeh a ohhaih ahmuen ah angdoet hoi sut.
The sun [and] moon stood still in their habitation, At the light of thine arrows which shot forth, — At the shining of thy glittering spear.
12 Palungphuihaih hoiah long pum ah na caeh moe, palungphuihaih hoiah Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk to na tit.
Thou didst march through the land in indignation, Thou didst thresh the nations in anger.
13 Nangmah ih kaminawk to pahlong moe, moithawk na nok ih kaminawk to pahlong hanah na caeh: Sethaih sah imthung takoh lu koek to nganbawh kana na paek moe, anih to tahnong hoi khok khoek to nam tuengsak. (Selah)
Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, For the salvation of thine anointed; Thou didst smite off the head from the house of the wicked, Laying bare the foundation even to the neck. (Selah)
14 Angmah ih kalii hoiah avang thungah kaom kaminawk zaehoikung to lu ah na thunh: nihcae loe kai amrosak hanah kamhae takhi baktiah ang zoh o; nihcae anghoehaih loe amtang kaminawk tamquta hoi amrosak han ih ni oh.
Thou didst strike through with his own spears the head of his leaders: They came out as a whirlwind to scatter me, Whose exulting was as to devour the afflicted secretly.
15 Nang loe nangmah ih hrangnawk hoiah tuipui maeto pacoeng maeto bangah na caeh moe, tuiphu to nang thawksak.
Thou didst walk through the sea with thy horses, The heap of great waters.
16 Ka thaih naah ka takpum to tasoeh; a lok pongah ka pahninawk loe angtawt o; raihaih niah kang hak thai hanah, ka huhnawk loe hmawnh moe, ka khoknawk doeh tasoeh o boeh. Kaminawk khaeah anih angzoh naah, angmah ih misatuh kaminawk mah anih to tuh o tih.
I heard, and my belly trembled; My lips quivered at the voice; Rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in my place, That I might rest in the day of distress, When their invader shall come up against the people.
17 Thaiduet kung hoi misur kung athai ai cadoeh; Olive thaih athai ai moe, lawk ah cang tacawt ai cadoeh; tuu khongkha thungah tuu om ai moe, moi pacahhaih imthung ah moinawk om o ai cadoeh,
For though the fig-tree shall not blossom, Neither shall fruit be in the vines; The labour of the olive-tree shall fail, And the fields shall yield no food; The flock shall be cut off from the fold, And there shall be no herd in the stalls:
18 kai loe Angraeng ah kang hoe toengtoeng han, pahlonghaih Sithaw ah kang hoe toengtoeng han.
Yet I will rejoice in Jehovah, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Jehovah, the Lord, is my strength, And he maketh my feet like hinds' [feet], And he will make me to walk upon my high places. To the chief Musician. On my stringed instruments.
