< Genesis 49 >

1 To pacoengah Jakob mah a capanawk to kawk moe, hmabang angzo han koi hmuen kang thuih o han pongah, ahmuen maeto ah amkhueng oh.
And Jacob sent for his sons, and said, Come together, all of you, so that I may give you news of your fate in future times.
2 Jakob ih caanawk, nawnto amkhueng oh loe, nam Pa Israel ih lok hae tahngai oh.
Come near, O sons of Jacob, and give ear to the words of Israel your father.
3 Reuben, nang loe ka calu, ka thacakhaih, ka tha oh tangsuekhaih, saiqathaih hoi sakthaihaih sang koek ah na oh.
Reuben, you are my oldest son, the first-fruit of my strength, first in pride and first in power:
4 Tui baktiah nang phui pongah, na hoihhaih om mak ai boeh; nam pa iihhaih nuiah na dawh moe, ka iihhaih to nam hnongsak.
But because you were uncontrolled, the first place will not be yours; for you went up to your father's bed, even his bride-bed, and made it unclean.
5 Simeon hoi Levi loe nawkamya ah oh moe, sumsen hoiah kasae sakhaih ahmuen ah a oh hoi.
Simeon and Levi are brothers; deceit and force are their secret designs.
6 Aw ka hinghaih, nihnik mah tamquta hoi sak ih ahmuen ah na thumsak hmah, kai pakoehhaih loe nihcae amkhuenghaih ahmuen ah na thumsak hmah; nihnik loe palungphuihaih hoiah kami to hum hoi moe, a koeh hoi ih baktiah vangpui tapang to paro hoi.
Take no part in their secrets, O my soul; keep far away, O my heart, from their meetings; for in their wrath they put men to death, and for their pleasure even oxen were wounded.
7 Nihnik loe palungphui hoi, poek amthueng hoi moe, palungduemh hoi pongah kasae zok hoi nasoe! Jakob acaeng thungah nihnik to ka tapraek moe, Israel acaeng thungah kam hetsak phang han.
A curse on their passion for it was bitter; and on their wrath for it was cruel. I will let their heritage in Jacob be broken up, driving them from their places in Israel.
8 Judah, nang loe nam yanawk mah pakoeh o tih; na ban loe misanawk ih tahnong nuiah om tih; nam pa ih caanawk loe na hmaa ah akuep o tih.
To you, Judah, will your brothers give praise: your hand will be on the neck of your haters; your father's sons will go down to the earth before you.
Judah is a young lion; like a lion full of meat you have become great, my son; now he takes his rest like a lion stretched out and like an old lion; by whom will his sleep be broken?
10 Shiloh pha ai karoek to tayae toeng loe, Judah khae hoi amhoe mak ai ueloe, a ukhaih cunghet doeh a khok salak hoiah takhoe mak ai; kaminawk loe anih khaeah ni amkhueng o tih.
The rod of authority will not be taken from Judah, and he will not be without a law-giver, till he comes who has the right to it, and the peoples will put themselves under his rule.
11 Misurkung pongah angmah ih hrang to paeh ueloe, laa hrang caa to kahoih koek misurkung pongah paeh tih; angmah ih khukbuen to misurtui hoi pasuk ueloe, angmah ih laihawnawk doeh misurtui hoiah pasuk tih.
Knotting his ass's cord to the vine, and his young ass to the best vine; washing his robe in wine, and his clothing in the blood of grapes:
12 Anih ih mik loe misurtui hoi thim ueloe, a ha doeh maitaw tahnutui hoiah anglung tih.
His eyes will be dark with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
13 Zebulun loe tuipui taengah om ueloe, palongpui anghakhaih ahmuen ah om tih; anih ih ramri loe Sidon karoek to kawk tih.
The resting-place of Zebulun will be by the sea, and he will be a harbour for ships; the edge of his land will be by Zidon.
14 Issakar loe mae salakah tabok thacak laa hrang ah oh;
Issachar is a strong ass stretched out among the flocks:
15 anghakhaih ahmuen kahoih to a hnuk moe, prae kahoih to a hnuk pongah, angmah ih palaeng nuiah hmuen to koeng ueloe, tamut paek tamna ah om tih.
And he saw that rest was good and the land was pleasing; so he let them put weights on his back and became a servant.
16 Dan loe Israel ih acaeng maeto ah oh baktih toengah, angmah ih kaminawk to lokcaek tih.
Dan will be the judge of his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 Dan loe loklam ah kaom pahui ah om ueloe, hrang angthueng kami to hnuk angnawnsak hanah, hrang khok tahmawh patuk pahui sae ah om tih.
May Dan be a snake in the way, a horned snake by the road, biting the horse's foot so that the horseman has a fall.
18 Aw Angraeng, na pahlonghaih to ka zing.
I have been waiting for your salvation, O Lord.
19 Misanawk mah Gad to tuh o tih, toe anih mah nihcae to tuh let ueloe, hnukkhuem ah pazawk tih.
Gad, an army will come against him, but he will come down on them in their flight.
20 Asher ah caaknaek kahoih tacawt tih, siangpahrang paek koi caaknaek to tacawt tih.
Asher's bread is fat; he gives delicate food for kings.
21 Naphtali loe angmah koeh baktiah kaom tasuk, kranghoih caa sahkung tasuk ah oh.
Naphtali is a roe let loose, giving fair young ones.
22 Joseph loe thacak thingkung, tui taengah kaom thingkung ah oh; anih ih tanghangnawk loe tapang ranui khoek to amzam.
Joseph is a young ox, whose steps are turned to the fountain;
23 Kalii kaat kop kaminawk mah anih to paroeai raihaih paek o, hnukma o moe, a kah o;
He was troubled by the archers; they sent out their arrows against him, cruelly wounding him:
24 toe anih ih kalii loe thazok ai; anih ih ban tampawk loe Jakob Sithaw ih ban thacakhaih rang hoiah, (tuutoep kami ah kaom, Israel ih lungsong ah oh; )
But their bows were broken by a strong one, and the cords of their arms were cut by the Strength of Jacob, by the name of the Stone of Israel:
25 nang loe nang bomkung, nam pa ih Sithaw rang hoiah nang han van ranui hoi tahamhoihaih paekkung, Sithaw rang hoiah tha na cak; atlim ah kaom kathuk tahamhoihaih, tahnutui hoi caa im tahamhoihaih mah nang han tahamhoihaih paek nasoe;
Even by the God of your father, who will be your help, and by the Ruler of all, who will make you full with blessings from heaven on high, blessings of the deep stretched out under the earth, blessings of the breasts and of the fertile body:
26 nam pa mah paek ih tahamhoihaih loe, canghni ah mae nui ih tahamhoihaih, dungzan maesomnawk nuiah kaom kahoih hmuennawk pongah doeh len kue; to tahamhoihaih loe Joseph ih lu nuiah om nasoe loe, amyanawk hoi kamhoe ah kaom kami ih lu nuiah om nasoe.
Blessings of sons, old and young, to the father: blessings of the oldest mountains and the fruit of the eternal hills: let them come on the head of Joseph, on the crown of him who was separate from his brothers.
27 Benjamin loe kalomh thaih tasui ah oh; anih loe khawnthaw ah moi to kaek ueloe, aqum ah a lomh ih hmuen to tapraek tih, tiah a naa.
Benjamin is a wolf, searching for meat: in the morning he takes his food, and in the evening he makes division of what he has taken.
28 Hae kaminawk loe Isreal acaeng hatlai hnetto ah oh o, ampa mah nihcae khaeah thuih pae ih lok loe hae tiah oh; ampa mah nihcae hak han koi tahamhoihaih to paek boih.
These are the twelve tribes of Israel: and these are the words their father said to them, blessing them; to every one he gave his blessing.
29 To pacoengah nihcae khaeah hae tiah lokthuih pae; Kai loe kaimah ih kaminawk amkhuenghaih ahmuen ah ka caeh han boeh; Hit kami Ephron ih lawk thungah kaom thlungkhaw thungah kam panawk hoi nawnto na phum oh,
And he gave orders to them, saying, Put me to rest with my people and with my fathers, in the hollow of the rock in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
30 to thlungkhaw loe Kanaan prae, Mamre vangpui pha ai naah, Makpelah ahmuen ah oh moe, Abraham mah Hit kami Ephron khaeah, lawk hoi nawnto taprong sak hanah a qanh.
In the rock in the field of Machpelah, near Mamre in the land of Canaan, which Abraham got from Ephron the Hittite, to be his resting-place.
31 Abraham hoi a zu Sarah, Issak hoi a zu Rebakah loe to ahmuen ah aphum o; Leah doeh to ahmuen ah ka phum.
There Abraham and Sarah his wife were put to rest, and there they put Isaac and Rebekah his wife, and there I put Leah to rest.
32 Lawk hoi thlungkhaw loe, Hit kaminawk khaeah ni ka qanh, tiah a naa.
In the rock in the field which was got for a price from the people of Heth.
33 A caanawk khaeah lokthuih boih pacoengah, Jakob loe a iihhaih ahmuen ah a khok to azuh tahang, hinghaih qui apet pacoengah, angmah ih kaminawk amkhuenghaih ahmuen ah angkuem.
And when Jacob had come to the end of these words to his sons, stretching himself on his bed, he gave up his spirit, and went the way of his people.
