1 Hae tiah oh pacoeng, Persia siangpahrang Artaxerxes dung nathuem ah, Ezara ih capa loe Seraiah, anih loe Azariah ih capa, anih loe Hilkiah ih capa,
Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,
2 anih loe Shallum ih capa, anih loe Zadok ih capa, anih loe Ahitub ih capa,
The son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub,
3 anih loe Amariah ih capa, anih loe Azariah ih capa, anih loe Meriaoth ih capa,
The son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth,
4 anih loe Zerahiah ih capa, anih loe Uzzi ih capa, anih loe Bukki ih capa,
The son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki,
5 anih loe Abishua ih capa, anih loe Phinehas ih capa, anih loe Eleazar ih capa, anih loe kalen koek qaima Aaron ih capa ah oh;
The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest:
6 Hae Ezra loe Babylon hoiah angzoh; anih loe ca tarikkung ah oh moe, Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah paek ih, Mosi ih daan panoek bit kami ah oh: angmah ih Angraeng Sithaw loe anih nuiah oh pongah, a hnik sarui hmuen to siangpahrang mah anih hanah paek.
This Ezra went from Babylon; and he [was] a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.
7 Thoemto Israel kaminawk, qaimanawk, Levinawk, laasah kaminawk, khongkha toep kaminawk hoi im ah toksah tamnanawk loe, Artaxerxes siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning sarihto naah, Jerusalem ah caeh o tahang.
And there went [some] of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
8 Ezra loe siangpahrang toksakhaih saning sarihto haih, khrah pangato naah, Jerusalem ah phak.
And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which [was] in the seventh year of the king.
9 Anih loe khrah tangsuekhaih niah Babylon hoiah caeh moe, angmah ih Sithaw tahmenhaih anih nuiah oh pongah, khrah pangato haih, ni tangsuek naah Jerusalem vangpui to a phak.
For upon the first [day] of the first month he began to go from Babylon, and on the first [day] of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.
10 Ezra loe Sithaw ih daan pazui hanah, kahoih ah amtuk moe, Israel kaminawk patuk hanah poekhaih a tawnh.
For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do [it], and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
11 Hae ca loe Artaxerxes siangpahrang mah qaima, ca tarikkung Ezra khaeah paek ih tarik pakong ih kawpi ca ah oh; anih loe Israel kaminawk zaehhoihhaih daan, Angraeng mah paek ih loknawk tarikkung ah oh.
Now this [is] the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, [even] a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.
12 Siangpahrangnawk ih siangpahrang Artaxerxes mah, van Sithaw ih daan patukkung, qaima Ezra khaeah, monghaih om nasoe, tiah vaihi ca ka tarik.
Artaxerxes, king of kings, To Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect [peace], and at such a time.
13 Ka prae thungah kaom, qaimanawk, Levinawk hoi Israel kaminawk boih, mi kawbaktih doeh Jerusalem ah caeh koeh kami loe, nangmah hoi nawnto caeh o nasoe, tiah lok takroekhaih ka sak boeh.
I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and [of] his priests and Levites, in my realm, who are disposed of their own free will to go to Jerusalem, go with thee.
14 Vaihi na ban ah kaom, na Sithaw ih patukhaih daan baktih, Judah hoi Jerusalem kawng to dueng hanah, siangpahrang hoi poekhaih kahoih paekkung sarihto mah, ang patoeh baktih toengah;
Forasmuch as thou art sent by the king, and by his seven counselors, to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which [is] in thy hand;
15 siangpahrang hoi poekhaih kahoih paekkungnawk mah, Jerusalem ah kaom, Israel Sithaw khaeah azom ah paek ih sui hoi sumkanglungnawk,
And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counselors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose habitation [is] in Jerusalem,
16 Jerusalem ah kaom, angmacae ih Sithaw im hanah, kaminawk hoi qaimanawk mah azom ah paek ih, Babylon prae thung hoiah hak ih sui hoi sumkanglungnawk boih doeh sin ah;
And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the free-will-offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which [is] in Jerusalem:
17 hae phoisa hoiah maitaw taenawk, tuu taenawk, tuu caanawk, paek han koi canghumnawk hoi naek han koi tuinawk to qan ah loe, Jerusalem ih na Sithaw hmaicam ah tathlang ah.
That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat-offerings and their drink-offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which [is] in Jerusalem.
18 Nangmah hoi nam nawkamyanawk mah, sak han hoih, tiah na poek o ih baktih toengah, sui hoi sumkanglung to na Sithaw koehhaih baktiah patoh oh.
And whatever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and gold, that do after the will of your God.
19 Na Sithaw ih im ah toksak haih hanah, nang khaeah kang paek ih laom sabaenawk doeh, Jerusalem Sithaw hmaa ah paek boih ah.
The vessels also that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, [those] deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem.
20 Na Sithaw im han kangaih hmuen, paek han koi kalah hmuennawk om vop nahaeloe, siangpahrang ih phoisa hoiah paek ah.
And whatever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow [it] out of the king's treasure-house.
21 Van Sithaw ih lokpaekhaih ca tarikkung, qaima Ezra mah hnik ih hmuennawk boih to, paek hanah vaihi kai, Artaxxerxes siangpahrang mah, vapui yaeh ah kaom hmuenmae pakuemkungnawk khaeah,
And I, [even] I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers who [are] beyond the river, that whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily,
22 sumkanglung talent cumvaito, cang kor cumvaito, misurtui bath cumvaito, olive situi bath cumvaito hoi noek ai ah paloi to paek o hanah, lok ka paek boeh.
To a hundred talents of silver, and to a hundred measures of wheat, and to a hundred baths of wine, and to a hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing [how much].
23 Siangpahrang hoi a caanawk nuiah palungphui han ai ah, van Sithaw mah hnik ih hmuen boih, van Sithaw ih im hanah tha pathok oh loe, paek oh;
Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
24 to pacoengah qaimanawk, Levinawk, laasah kaminawk, khongkha toep kaminawk, Nethinims tiah kawk ih im thungah toksah kaminawk hoi kalah im toksah tamnanawk khaeah, tamut na cong o mak ai, tiah panoek sak han ka koeh.
Also we certify you, that concerning any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom upon them.
25 Nang Ezra doeh, Sithaw palunghahaih na tawnh baktih toengah, vapui yaeh ah kaom kaminawk mah, toenghaih hoi lokcaek o thaih moe, na Sithaw mah paek ih lok to patuk hanah, ukkungnawk hoi lokcaekkungnawk to suem ah.
And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that [is] in thy hand, set magistrates and judges, who may judge all the people that [are] beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know [them] not.
26 Mi kawbaktih doeh na Sithaw patukhaih koeh ai moe, siangpahrang lok tahngai ai kami loe humhaih, haekhaih, hmuenmae lomh paehaih, thongim thungah pakhrakhaih to karangah paek oh, tiah tarik ih lok to ca thungah oh.
And whoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether [it be] to death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.
27 Aicae ampanawk ih Angraeng Sithaw loe tahamhoihaih om nasoe, Angraeng mah Jerusalem ih im kranghoisak hanah, siangpahrang palungthin thungah toksak pae;
Blessed [be] the LORD God of our fathers, who hath put [such a thing] as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which [is] in Jerusalem:
28 Angraeng mah ni a tahmenhaih to siangpahrang khaeah, poekhaih kahoih paek kaminawk hoi thacak siangpahrang ih angraengnawk boih hmaa ah amtuengsak. Ka Angraeng Sithaw ih ban ka nuiah oh pongah, tha ka cak moe, kai hoi nawnto caeh hanah Israel thung ih kacoehtanawk to amkhuengsak.
And hath extended mercy to me before the king, and his counselors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God [was] upon me, and I assembled out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
