Ezra 10

1 Ezra mah Sithaw im hmaa ah akuep moe, mikkhraetui hoi zae taphonghaih hoiah lawkthuih naah, kami paroeai pop Israel nongpa, nongpatanawk hoi nawktanawk boih, Ezra khaeah angpop o moe, qah o.

Whiles Ezra prayed thus, and confessed himselfe weeping, and falling downe before the house of God, there assembled vnto him of Israel a very great Congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept with a great lamentation.

2 To naah Elam acaeng, Jehiel capa Shekaniah mah Ezra khaeah, Aicae taengah kaom prae kalah nongpatanawk to zu ah a lak o pongah, aimacae ih Sithaw hmaa ah zaehaih a sak o boeh, toe Israel hanah oephaih oh vop.

Then Shechaniah the sonne of Iehiel one of the sonnes of Elam answered, and sayd to Ezra, We haue trespassed against our God, and haue taken strange wiues of the people of the land, yet nowe there is hope in Israel concerning this.

3 To pongah vaihiah ka angraeng hoi aicae Sithaw lokpaekhaih zii kaminawk mah thuitaek ih lok baktih toengah, a zu hoi acaa nawktanawk haek o boih hanah, aicae Sithaw khaeah lokkamhaih sah si, kaalok baktih toengah sah o si.

Now therfore let vs make a couenant with our God, to put away all the wiues (and such as are borne of them) according to the counsell of the Lord, and of those that feare the commandements of our God, and let it be done according to the Lawe.

4 Angthawk ah; hae hmuen loe na ban ah ni oh; misahoihaih hoiah sah ah, kaicae mah doeh kang doet o haih toeng han hmang, tiah a naa.

Arise: for the matter belogeth vnto thee: we also wil be with thee: be of comfort and do it.

5 To pongah Ezra mah angthawk moe, qaima zaehoikungnawk, Levinawk hoi Israelnawk khaeah a thuih o ih lok baktih toengah sak o hanah lokkamsak boih.

Then arose Ezra, and caused the chiefe Priestes, the Leuites, and all Israel, to sweare that they would doe according to this worde. So they sware.

6 To pacoengah Ezra loe Sithaw im hmaa hoiah angthawk moe, Eliashib capa Jehohanan imthung ah caeh; to ah oh naah doeh, misong ah kalaem kaminawk ih zaehaih pongah, buh to caa ai moe, tui doeh nae ai.

And Ezra rose vp from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Iohanan the sonne of Eliashib: he went euen thither, but he did eate neither bread, nor drunke water: for he mourned, because of the transgression of them of the captiuitie.

7 Misong ah kalaem kaminawk loe, Jerusalem ah amkhueng hanah,

And they caused a proclamation to goe throughout Iudah and Ierusalem, vnto all them of the captiuitie, that they should assemble themselues vnto Ierusalem.

8 ni thumto thung amtueng ai kami loe, ukkungnawk hoi kacoehtanawk ih lok takroekhaih baktih toengah, a tawnh o ih hmuennawk to lomh pae boih moe, misong ah kalaem kaminawk amkhuenghaih thung hoiah haek han oh tiah, Judah hoi Jerusalem boih ah taphong o.

And whosoeuer woulde not come within three dayes according to the counsel of the Princes and Elders, all his substance should be forfait, and he should be separate from the Congregation of them of the captiuitie.

9 Judah hoi Benjamin kaminawk boih, ni thumto pacoeng, khrah takawtto haih, ni pumphaeto naah, Jerusalem ah nawnto amkhueng o. Hae amkhuenghaih loe lokpui parai ah oh pongah kaminawk loe tasoeh takuenhaih hoiah kho angzo thungah anghnut o.

Then all the men of Iudah and Beniamin assembled theselues vnto Ierusalem within three dayes, which was the twentieth day of the ninth moneth, and all the people sate in the streete of the house of God, trembling for this matter, and for the raine.

10 To naah qaima Ezra mah angdoet moe, nihcae khaeah, Nangcae loe prae kalah nongpata to na zu o haih pongah, na zae o boeh moe, Israel kaminawk zaehaih nang pung o sak aep.

And Ezra the Priest stoode vp, and said vnto them, Ye haue transgressed, and haue taken strange wiues, to increase the trespasse of Israel.

11 Vaihi nam panawk ih Angraeng Sithaw khaeah zaehaih taphong oh loe, a koehhaih to sah oh; na taeng ih kaminawk hoi angkom o hmah loe, nihcae ih canunawk to zu o haih hmah, tiah a naa.

Now therefore giue praise vnto the Lord God of your fathers, and do his will, and separate your selues from the people of the land, and from the strange wiues.

12 To ah kaom angpop kaminawk mah, Na thuih ih lok baktih toengah, ka sak o han oh, tiah tha hoiah hang o.

And all the Congregation answered, and sayd with a loude voyce, So will we do according to thy wordes vnto vs.

13 Toe kami paroeai pop o moe, cawh tue ah oh pongah, tasa bangah angdoe o thai ai; hae tiah zaehaih sah kami paroeai ka pop o pongah, hae hmuen loe nito maw, ni hnetto hoiah maw pacoeng thai koi hmuen ah om ai.

But the people are many, and it is a raynie weather, and we are not able to stande without, neither is it the worke of one day or two: for we are many that haue offended in this thing.

14 Ukkungnawk mah rangpui kaminawk hanah sah pae nasoe; vangpui kruekah kaom prae kalah nongpata zu haih kaminawk boih hanah atue khaek pae oh loe, vangpui kruek ih kacoehtanawk hoi lok takroek kaminawk hoiah nawnto angzo o nasoe; hae hmuen kawng pongah, zitthok aicae Sithaw palungphuihaih aicae khae hoi amlaem let ai karoek to sah o nasoe, tiah a naa o.

Let our rulers stand therefore before all the Congregation, and let all them which haue taken strange wiues in our cities, come at the time appoynted, and with them the Elders of euery citie and the Iudges thereof, til the fierce wrath of our God for this matter turne away from vs.

15 Asahel capa Jonathan hoi Tikvah capa Jahaziah hnik khue mah ni hae tok hae sak hoi, Levi acaeng Meshullam hoi Shabbethai mah nihnik to abomh hoi.

Then were appoynted Ionathan the sonne of Asah-el, and Iahaziah the sonne of Tikuah ouer this matter, and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Leuites helped them.

16 To pongah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, misong kalaem kaminawk mah sak o. Ezra mah acaeng ukkungnawk to qoih, canawk maeto thung hoiah kami maeto a qoih moe, nihcae ih ahmin to tarik boih; khrah hato haih, ni tangsuek naah, to kawng to lok takroek hanah nawnto anghnut o.

And they of the captiuitie did so, and departed, euen Ezra the Priest, and the men that were chiefe fathers to the familie of their fathers by name, and sate downe in the first day of the tenth moneth to examine the matter.

17 Hmaloe koek ih khrah, amtong tangsuekhaih niah, prae kalah nongpata zu haih kaminawk nuiah lokcaekhaih to pacoeng o.

And vntill the first day of the first moneth they were finishing the businesse with al the men that had taken strange wiues.

18 Prae kalah nongpata zu haih qaimanawk loe, Jeshua ih acaeng, Jozadak ih caa hoi anih ih nawkamyanawk ah kaom, Maaseiah, Eliezer, Jarib hoi Gedaliah cae hae ni.

And of the sonnes of the Priests there were men founde, that had taken strange wiues, to wit, of the sonnes of Ieshua, the sonne of Iozadak, and of his brethren, Maaseiah, Aeliezer, and Iarib and Gedaliah.

19 Nihcae loe angmacae ih zu to pakhrak hanah lokkam o; a sak o pazae moeng pongah zae angbawn haih hanah, tuu tae maeto a paek o.

And they gaue their hads, that they would put away their wiues, and they that had trespassed, gaue a ramme for their trespasse.

20 To pacoengah Immer ih capanawk thung hoiah Hanani hoi Zebediah,

And of the sonnes of Immer, Honani, and Zebadiah.

21 Harim ih capanawk thung hoiah Maaseiah, Elijah, Shemaiah, Jehiel hoi Uzziah,

And of the sonnes of Harim, Maaseiah, and Eliiah, and Shemaiah, and Iehiel, and Vzziah.

22 Pashhur ih capanawk thung hoiah Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethanel, Jozabad hoi Elasah,

And of ye sonnes of Pashur, Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Iozabad, and Elasah.

23 Levi ih capanawk thung hoiah Jozabad, Shimei, Kelaiah (anih loe Kelita ni), Pethahiah, Judah hoi Eliezer,

And of the Leuites, Iozabad and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (which is Kelitah) Pethahiah, Iudah and Eliezer.

24 Laasah kaminawk thung hoiah Eliashib: khongkha toep kaminawk thung hoiah Shallum, Telem hoi Uri,

And of the singers, Eliashib. And of the porters, Shallum, and Telem, and Vri.

25 Israel acaeng thung hoiah Parosh ih capanawk; Ramiah, Jeziah, Malkiah, Miamin, Eleazar, Malkijah hoi Benaiah,

And of Israel: of the sonnes of Parosh, Ramiah, and Iesiah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchiiah, and Benaiah.

26 Elam ih capanawk thung hoiah Mattaniah, Zekariah, Jehiel, Abdi, Jeremoth hoi Eliah,

And of the sonnes of Elam, Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Iehiel, and Abdi, and Ieremoth, and Eliah.

27 Zattu ih caanawk thung hoiah Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, Jeremoth, Zabad hoi Aziza,

And of the sonnes of Zattu, Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Ierimoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.

28 Bebai ih caanawk thung hoiah Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai hoi Athlai,

And of the sonnes of Bebai, Iehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai.

29 Bani ih caanawk thung hoiah Meshullam, Malluk, Adaiah, Jashub, Sheal hoi Ramoth,

And of the sonnes of Bani, Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Iashub, and Sheal, Ieramoth.

30 Pahath-Moab ih capanawk thung hoiah Adna, Khelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezalel, Binnui hoi Manasseh,

And of the sonnes of Pahath Moab, Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.

31 Harim ih capanawk thung hoiah Eliezer, Ishijah, Malkiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,

And of the sonnes of Harim, Eliezer, Ishiiah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,

32 Benjamin, Malluk hoi Shemeriah,

Beniamin, Malluch, Shamariah.

33 Hashum ih capanawk thung hoiah Mattenai, Mattathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh hoi Shimei,

Of the sonnes of Hashum, Mattenai, Mattattah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Ieremai, Manasseh, Shimei.

34 Bani ih capanawk thung hoiah Maadai, Amram, Uel,

Of the sonnes of Bani, Maadai, Amram, and Vel,

35 Benaiah, Bedeiah, Kheluh,

Banaiah, Bediah, Chelluh,

36 Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,

Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,

37 Mattaniah, Mattenai hoi Jaasau,

Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Iaasau,

38 Bani, Binnui, Shimei,

And Banni, and Bennui, Shimei,

39 Shelemiah, Nathan, Adaiah,

And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,

40 Maknadebai, Shashai, Sharai,

Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,

41 Azarel, Shelemiah, Shemariah,

Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,

42 Shallum, Amariah hoi Joseph,

Shallum, Amariah, Ioseph.

43 Nebo ih capanawk thung hoiah Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jadau, Joel hoi Benaiah cae hae athum o.

Of the sonnes of Nebo, Ieiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Iadau, and Ioel, Benaiah.

44 Hae kaminawk boih loe prae kalah nongpatanawk to zu o haih, thoemto kaminawk loe hae ih a zunawk mah caa nawktanawk to sak pae o.

All these had taken strange wiues: and among them were women that had children.
