< Ezekiel 5 >

1 Kami capa, haikaek kanoe to la ah, sam aatkung ih haita kanoe to lah loe, na lu hoi toektaboe mui to aah hanah patoh ah; to pacoengah kazit to coi tah ah loe, sam to tapraek ah.
“Also, you human, [when you start doing those things, ] take a sharp sword and use it like [SIM] a razor to shave your head and your beard. Then put the hair that you shaved off on scales, and divide the [into three equal parts].
2 Vangpui takuihaih ni koep naah, sam ahmuen thumto thungah ahmuen maeto la ah loe, vangpui thungah hmai hoi thlaek ah; ahmuen thumto thungah ahmuen maeto haita hoi takroek pet loe, ahmuen thumto thungah ahmuen maeto takhi thungah haeh ah; to sam to ka patomh moe, sumsen hoiah ka boeng han.
When the time during [you will symbolize that] the city will be [by enemy troops] ends, put a third of the hair inside [drawing of the] city and burn it. Take another third of the hair, [scatter it] all [the drawing of] the city, and then strike it with your sword. That will symbolize that I will strike the people of Jerusalem [their enemies’] swords. Then allow the wind to scatter the other third of the hair. That will symbolize [even if they flee from the city], I will [cause their enemies to] pursue them and attack them with swords.
3 Sam to zetta ah la ah loe, laprawn hoiah tapawk ah.
Take a few of your hairs and tuck them into the folds of your robe.
4 Lak pacoengah, hmai thungah va ah loe, hmai kangsak ah; to hmai loe Israel imthung takohnawk boih khaeah pha tih.
Then take a few of those hairs, throw them into the fire, and burn them up. [That will symbolize that] a fire will spread from Jerusalem [and destroy things] throughout Israel.
5 Angraeng Sithaw mah, Hae loe Jerusalem ni; vangpui taengah kaom prae kaminawk hoi prae congcanawk salakah anih to ka suek.
This is what [I, ] Yahweh the Lord, say: ‘[drawing will represent] Jerusalem, [the city which] I have set in the center of the nations, with [other] countries around it.
6 Toe Jerusalem loe ka lok takroekhaih to zaesakhaih bangah paqoi lat, a taengah kaom prae kaminawk hoi prae congcanawk pong kanung kue ah, ka paek ih lok to aek o; ka lok takroekhaih to pahnawt o moe, ka paek ih loknawk baktiah caeh o ai.
But the wicked people of Jerusalem rebelled against [obeying] my commands, and [they show that] they are more wicked than the people of the surrounding countries. They rejected my laws and refused to obey my commands.’
7 To pongah Angraeng Sithaw mah, Na sak o ih zaehaih loe a taeng ih prae kaminawk hoi prae congcanawk mah sak ih zaehaih pongah pop kue, kang paek ih kaalok baktiah na caeh o ai, ka lok takroekhaih doeh na pazui o ai; na taengah kaom prae kaminawk ih khosakhaih dan baktiah doeh na caeh o ai, tiah thuih.
Therefore, this is what I, Yahweh the Lord, say: ‘You people of Jerusalem have been more rebellious than the people of the nations around you; you have not obeyed any of my laws [DOU]. You have not even obeyed the laws of the nations around you!’
8 To pogah Angraeng Sithaw mah, Khenah, Kai loe na misa ah ka oh moe, prae congca kaminawk hmaa ah lok kang caek han.
Therefore, this is [I, ] Yahweh the Lord, say: ‘I am opposed to [you people of] Jerusalem. I will punish you, and the [people of other] nations will see it happen.
9 Panuet thok hmuen to na sak o pongah, ka sak vai ai ih hmuen, lokcaek vai ai ih lokcaekhaih to ka sak han.
Because of all your detestable [idols], I will punish [people of Jerusalem] like I have never done before and will never do again.
10 To pongah nangmacae hmaa roe ah ampanawk mah a caanawk to caa o ueloe, a caanawk mah ampanawk to caa o tih; nangcae to lok kang caek moe, kanghmat kaminawk to takhi nuiah ka haeh han.
As a result, parents among you will eat their children, and children will eat their [because there will be nothing else to eat]. I will punish you [severely], and I will cause those who will still be alive to be scattered in all directions [IDM].’
11 Kahing Sithaw mah, Kai ka hing baktih toengah, panuet thok hmuennawk hoi kai ih hmuenciim to nam hnong o sak boeh pongah, kai mah doeh kang paawt mak ai, kang tahmen o mak ai ueloe, kang pathlung o mak ai boeh.
Therefore, I, Yahweh the Lord, declare that as surely as I am alive, because you have polluted my temple with all your disgusting [statues of idols] and by the other detestable things that you do, I will no longer bless you. I will not pity [you] or act mercifully [toward you].
12 Nangcae thung ih kami ahmuen thumto thungah ahmuen maeto loe, nathaih kasae, khokhaahaih hoiah dueh o tih; na taeng ih kami ahmuen thumto thungah ahmuen maeto loe sumsen hoiah dueh o tih; ahmuen thumto thungah ahmuen maeto loe sumsen hoiah ka patom moe, takhi nuiah kang haehsak phaeng han.
One-third of your people will die inside the city because of the plagues [they will experience] or by (famine/lack of food). One-third of your people will be killed [your enemies’] swords outside the city. And one-third I will cause to be scattered in all directions; [your enemies] will [still] pursue you and kill you with their swords.
13 To tiah ni palung ka phuihaih dip tih, palung ka phuihaih nihcae nuiah kam tiik pacoengah ni, ka poekhaih mong vop tih; palung ka phuihaih nihcae nuiah ka koepsak pacoengah loe, Kai, Angraeng loe a thuih ih lok baktiah sak tangtang, tiah nihcae mah panoek o tih.
Then I will no longer be angry with you; I will stop punishing [MTY] you after I have gotten revenge on you. And when I stop punishing you, you will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken to you because I have been very strongly concerned [what you have done].
14 To pacoengah a taengah caeh kaminawk hmaa ah, nang to kam rosak moe, ataeng kaminawk pahnui thuih hanah kang ohsak han.
I will cause your [city] to be a ruins, with the result that [people of other] nations that are around you will pass by and see it and sneer at you.
15 Palungphuihaih, palungbethaih hoiah kang thuitaek o naah, nangcae loe a taengah kaom prae kaminawk kasae thuihaih, acoehaih hoi dawnrai paekkung ah na om o tih. Angraeng, Kai mah to tiah lok ka thuih boeh.
They will make fun of you and taunt you. When I severely punish you because of my being very angry [DOU] with you, they will be horrified and they will be warned. [That will surely happen because] I, Yahweh, have said it.
16 Nangcae paduekkung, khokhahaih ah kaom kahoih ai palaa to, nangcae khaeah kang patoeh han; to naah nangcae nuiah khokhahaih to kang pungsak moe, takaw paekhaih doeh kang pakha pae ving han.
When I cut off your food supply and cause there to be more famine, [it will be as though] [MET] I am shooting at you with my arrows that will destroy you.
17 Nangcae pacaekthlaek hanah, khokhahaih hoi moi kasannawk to kang patoeh han; nangmah thung hoiah athii longhaih hoi nathaih kasae to tacawt tih, nangcae tuk hanah sumsen to ka sin han, tiah thuih. Angraeng, Kai mah to tiah lok ka thuih boeh.
I will cause you to experience a famine, and I will send wild beasts to attack you and your children, and [all] your children will be killed. You will experience plagues and wars, and I will cause [your enemies] to attack you with their swords. [That will surely happen because] I, Yahweh, have said it.”
