< Ezekiel 31 >
1 Saning hathlaito, khrah thumto haih ni tangsuek naah, Angraeng ih lok kai khaeah angzoh,
In the eleventh year, on the first day of the third month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 kami capa, Izip siangpahrang Faro hoi angmah ih kaminawk khaeah hae tiah thui paeh; na lensawkhaih loe mi hoiah maw anghmong?
“Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his multitude: ‘Who can be compared to your greatness?
3 Khenah, Assyria loe tanghang kahoih, aqam kasai, akung kasang, ranui koek ah tadok kacawn Lebanon sidar thing ah oh.
Look at Assyria, a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches that shaded the forest. It towered on high; its top was among the clouds.
4 Tui mah anih to qoengsak tahang moe, kathuk tui mah anih to sangsak tahang, vapuinawk loe anih patit ih akungnawk taengah longh o moe, azawn ah thling ih thingkungnawk boih khaeah vapui tui to a longsak.
The waters made it grow; the deep springs made it tall, directing their streams all around its base and sending their channels to all the trees of the field.
5 To pongah anih loe azawn ah thling ih thingnawk boih pong kasang koek ah oh; tui to pop pongah tanghangnawk to sang o moe, tadoknawk doeh cawnh o.
Therefore it towered higher than all the trees of the field. Its branches multiplied, and its boughs grew long as it spread them out because of the abundant waters.
6 Van ih tavaanawk loe anih ih tahangnawk pongah tabu boh o boih, azawn ah kaom moinawk loe anih ih tanghangnawk tlim ah caasak o boih, kalen parai praenawk loe anih tahlip tlim ah oh o boih.
All the birds of the air nested in its branches, and all the beasts of the field gave birth beneath its boughs; all the great nations lived in its shade.
7 Anih loe tui pophaih ahmuen ah tangzun sak pongah, tanghangnawk to sang o tahang moe, kranghoihaih hoi lensawkhaih hoiah akoep.
It was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its limbs, for its roots extended to abundant waters.
8 Sithaw takha thung ih Sidar thingnawk mah anih to vingh thai ai; hmaica thingnawk mah doeh anih ih tanghangnawk to pha ai, cypress thingnawk mah doeh tanghangnawk to pha thai ai, Sithaw takha thung ih kawbaktih thingnawk mah doeh a kranghoihaih to pha o thai ai.
The cedars in the garden of God could not rival it; the cypresses could not compare with its branches, nor the plane trees match its boughs. No tree in the garden of God could compare with its beauty.
9 Sithaw takha thungah kaom, Eden thingnawk boih mah, anih to ut o hanah, tanghang popsak moe, krang ka hoihsak.
I made it beautiful with its many branches, the envy of all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God.’
10 To pongah Angraeng Sithaw mah, Kasang parai ah na qoeng tahang, thingnawk boih nuiah tadok na cawnh, anih mah a sanghaih to amoek haih pongah, poekhaih palungthin to sang;
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Since it became great in height and set its top among the clouds, and it grew proud on account of its height,
11 anih to Sithaw panoek ai thacak kaminawk khaeah ka paek boeh; a sethaih baktiah to kami mah anih nuiah sah tih; a sethaih pongah anih to ka haek boeh.
I delivered it into the hand of the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with it according to its wickedness. I have banished it.
12 Tahmenhaih tawn ai kalah prae kaminawk mah anih to hum moe, caeh o taak; anih ih tanghangnawk loe mae nui hoiah tahawt thungah krak moe, anih ih tadoknawk doeh prae thung ih vapuinawk mah angkhaehsak boih boeh; long kaminawk boih anih tahlip tlim hoiah tacawt o moe, anih to caeh o taak boeh.
Foreigners, the most ruthless of the nations, cut it down and left it. Its branches have fallen on the mountains and in every valley; its boughs lay broken in all the earth’s ravines. And all the peoples of the earth left its shade and abandoned it.
13 Van ih tavaanawk hoi moi kasannawk boih loe anih ih angkhaek tanghangnawk nuiah oh o.
All the birds of the air nested on its fallen trunk, and all the beasts of the field lived among its boughs.
14 To pongah tui taengah kaom thingnawk boih thungah a sanghaih pongah amoek han ai, tanghangnawk ranuiah tadok cawnh pongah amoek han ai, tui kanae thingkungnawk boih thungah a sanghaih kam oek haih thingah oh han ai ah, to thingkungnawk duek o boih hanah, tangqom thungah caeh tathuk kaminawk hoi nawnto long thungah ka pakhrak tathuk boeh, tiah thuih.
This happened so that no other trees by the waters would become great in height and set their tops among the clouds, and no other well-watered trees would reach them in height. For they have all been consigned to death, to the depths of the earth, among the mortals who descend to the Pit.’
15 Angraeng Sithaw mah, Anih taprong thungah caeh tathuk naah palung ka boengsak; anih hanah kathuk tui to ka khuk pae, tui to ka khah pae khoep moe, kalen parai tuinawk to kang haksak; anih hanah Lebanon palung ka setsak, anih pongah taw ih thingnawk to ka zaisak boih. (Sheol )
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘On the day it was brought down to Sheol, I caused mourning. I covered the deep because of it; I held back its rivers; its abundant waters were restrained. I made Lebanon mourn for it, and all the trees of the field fainted because of it. (Sheol )
16 Anih to tangqom thungah caeh tathuk kaminawk hoi nawnto hell thungah ka vah naah, anih pakhrakhaih atuen mah prae kaminawk boih ka tasoehsak; to naah Eden ih thingnawk boih, kahoih koek qoih ih Lebanon thingnawk hoi tui kanae thingnawk boih long thungah kamong ah oh o. (Sheol )
I made the nations quake at the sound of its downfall, when I cast it down to Sheol with those who descend to the Pit. Then all the trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, all the well-watered trees, were consoled in the earth below. (Sheol )
17 Anih ih bantha cakhaih ah kaom, Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk, anih ih tahlip tlim ah kaom kaminawk loe, sumsen hoi hum ih kaminawk caehhaih ahmuen, hell thungah anih hoi nawnto caeh o tathuk. (Sheol )
They too descended with it to Sheol, to those slain by the sword. As its allies they had lived in its shade among the nations. (Sheol )
18 Na lensawkhaih loe Eden ih thing kawbaktih hoiah maw patah thai tih? Toe nang loe Eden ih thingnawk hoi nawnto long thungah na caeh tathuk tih; nang loe sumsen hoi hum ih kaminawk hoi nawnto tangyat hin aat ai kaminawk salakah nang song tih. Hae loe Faro hoi anih ih kaminawk boih thuih koehhaih ih ni, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih, tiah thui paeh, tiah ang naa.
Who then is like you in glory and greatness among the trees of Eden? You also will be brought down to the depths of the earth to be with the trees of Eden. You will lie among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, declares the Lord GOD.’”
