< Ezekiel 14 >
1 To pacoengah thoemto Israel kacoehtanawk kai khaeah angzoh o moe, ka hmaa ah anghnut o.
Some elders of Israel arrived and sat down with me.
2 To naah Angraeng ih lok kai khaeah angzoh,
A message from the Lord came to me, saying,
3 kami capa, hae kaminawk loe angmacae palung thungah krang to suek o moe, angmacae mikhmai ah amthaek han koi thingboeng to a suek o; nihcae mah kai lokdueng o thai tih maw?
“Son of man, these men are worshiping idols in their minds even though they know this will lead them to sin. Why should I respond to their requests?
4 To pongah nihcae khaeah, lokthui ah, nihcae khaeah, Angraeng Sithaw mah, angmah ih palung thungah krang kasuem Israel kaminawk, angmah hma ah amthaek han koi thingboeng kasuem kami mah tahmaa khaeah caeh nahaeloe, Kai Angraeng mah roe pop parai krang bokhaih hoi sak ih zaehaih hoiah kating ah anih han lok ka pathim pae han.
So tell them that this is what the Lord God says: When the people of Israel worship idols in their minds that will lead them to sin, and then come to consult the prophet, I the Lord will give them an answer appropriate to their many idols.
5 A bok o ih krang pongah Kai ang caeh o taak boeh, angmacae poekhaih palung baktih toengah Israel imthung takoh to ka lak han, tiah thuih.
Like this I might have the people of Israel decide to recommit themselves to me. Right now, because of their idols, all of them treat me as their enemy.
6 To pongah Israel imthung takoh khaeah, Angraeng Sithaw mah, Dawnpakhuem ah loe krang bokhaih hoiah amlaem let ah, na sak o ih panuet thok hmuennawk to angqoi o taak boih ah!
So tell the people of Israel that this is what the Lord God says: Repent! Give up worshiping your idols Stop all your disgusting practices.
7 Israel imthung takoh, to tih ai boeh loe Israel prae thungah kaom angvin mi kawbaktih doeh, Kai khae hoi amkhraeng moe, a palung thungah krang to bok kami, amthaek hanah angmah hma ah zaehaih thingboeng suem kami mah, kai khae lokdueng hanah tahmaa khaeah caeh nahaeloe, Kai, Angraeng mah roe anih hanah lok ka pathim pae han.
When the people of Israel or foreigners living with them worship idols in their minds that will lead them to sin and then come to consult the prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself.
8 To kami to kang qoi thuih moe, misa ah ka suek han, anih to minawk mah thuih poe hanah angmathaih ah ka sak han, kai ih kaminawk thung hoiah anih to ka vah ving han; to naah Kai loe Angraeng ni, tiah na panoek o tih.
I will oppose anyone who does this and make any example of them that others will talk about. I will remove them from among my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
9 Tahmaa mah amsawnlok thui nahaeloe, Angraeng, Kai mah ni to tahmaa to amsawnlok ka thuisak, anih nuiah ban ka phok moe, Kaimah ih Israel kaminawk thung hoiah kam rosak han.
But if the prophet is deceived into giving a message, it was I the Lord who deceived him to do this. I will still reach out and destroy that prophet from my people Israel.
10 A sakpazae o haih atho loe angmacae mah zok o tih, tahmaa danpaekhaih loe anih khae lokdueng kami danpaekhaih hoiah anghmong tih;
They will be responsible for the punishment they receive, as will those who believe in these prophets will receive the same punishment.
11 to pacoengah loe Israel imthung takoh mah kai khae hoi loklam amkhraeng o mak ai boeh, a sak o ih zaehaihnawk boih mah doeh amhnong o sak mak ai boeh; nihcae loe kai ih kami ah om o ueloe, Kai doeh nihcae ih Sithaw ah om tih boeh, tiah thuih, tiah thui paeh, tiah ang naa.
This is so that the people of Israel won't abandon me anymore and won't make themselves unclean with all their sins. Then they will be my people and I will be their God, declares the Lord God.”
12 Angraeng ih lok kai khaeah angzoh let,
A message from the Lord came to me again, saying,
13 kami capa, prae kaminawk loe Ka koeh ai ih kanung parai zaehaih to sak o pongah, ban ka phok moe, takaw sakhaih to kam rosak han, nihcae nuiah khokhahaih to ka patoeh moe, kaminawk hoi taw ih moinawk to ka dueksak boih han:
“Son of man, if a people in a country sin against me by being unfaithful to me, then I will act against them by cutting off their food supply, so they experience famine, with no food for people or animals.
14 Noah, Daniel hoi Job: kami thumto a thungah om o langlacadoeh, nihcae toenghaih mah loe angmacae hinghaih khue ni pahlong o thai tih, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job, these three men, were present their good lives would only save themselves, declares the Lord God.
15 Kai mah moi kasannawk prae thungah ka patoeh naah, to ih moi kasannawk mah kaminawk to caa o tih, moi kasannawk pongah mi kawbaktih doeh to ah caeh o mak ai, to naah to ahmuen to angqai krang tih,
I could send wild animals rampaging through the country, so they would leave it uninhabited and desolate, a place no one would travel through for fear of such animals.
16 kai ka hing baktiah, hae kami thumtonawk a thungah om o langlacadoeh, nihcae mah a capa hoi a canunawk mataeng doeh pahlong o thai mak ai, angmacae khue ni pahlong tih, toe prae loe angqai krang tih boeh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
As I live, declares the Lord God, even if these three men were present, they couldn't save their own sons or daughters. They would only save themselves, but the land would be left desolate.
17 To tih ai boeh loe to prae nuiah sumsen ka sin han, Sumsen mah prae to alaek boih nasoe, tiah ka thuih pacoengah, Kaimah ih kaminawk hoi taw ih moinawk to ka hum nahaeloe,
I could bring war to that country and say, ‘Have a sword cut through it,’ so that I destroy both people and animals.
18 kai ka hing baktiah, hae kami thumto a thungah om o langlacadoeh, nihcae mah a capa hoi a canunawk mataeng doeh pahlong o thai mak ai, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih; angmacae khue ni pahlong tih.
As I live, declares the Lord God, even if these three men were present, they couldn't save their own sons or daughters. They would only save themselves.
19 To tih ai boeh loe, to prae thungah kasae nathaih to ka patoeh moe, kami hoi taw ih moi paduek hanah nihcae nuiah palung ka phuihaih athii to ka kraih nahaeloe,
I could send a disease on that country and because of my anger I would kill many, both people and animals.
20 kai ka hing baktiah, Noah, Daniel hoi Job cae to a thungah om o langlacadoeh, nihcae loe a capa hoi a canu mataeng doeh pahlong o thai mak ai, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih; angmacae toenghaih rang hoiah angmacae khue ni pahlong ah om o thai tih.
As I live, declares the Lord God, even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were present, they couldn't save their sons or daughters. Their good lives would only save themselves.
21 Kawbangmaw tih nahaeloe Angraeng Sithaw mah hae tiah thuih; kaminawk hoi taw ih moinawk to hum hanah, Kai mah Jerusalem nuiah zit thok parai lokcaekhaih palito, tiah thuih ih sumsen, khokhahaih, moi kasan hoi nathaih kasae to ka patoeh naah loe kawkruk maw sethaih to om aep tih?
This is what the Lord God says: It will be so much worse when I send my four severe judgments against Jerusalem—war, famine, wild animals, and disease, so that both people and animals are killed!
22 Toe khenah, kanghmat capanawk hoi canunawk to a thungah om o vop tih; khenah, nihcae to nangcae khaeah angzo o haih tih; nihcae khosakhaih tuinuen hoi a toksakhaih to na hnu o tih; Kai mah Jerusalem nuiah patoeh ih raihaih pongah mawnhaih na tawn o mak ai, poek monghaih na tawn o tih.
Even so a few of them will survive, some sons and daughters who will be taken captive. They will be brought to you in Babylon, and when you realize what they did and how they acted, you will understand why I had to bring such a disaster down on Jerusalem—everything I did to it.
23 Nihcae toksakhaih hoi a pazui o ih loklam to na hnuk o naah, nihcae mah poek na mong o sak tih; Jerusalem nuiah ka sak ih hmuennawk boih ahlong om ai ah ka sah ai, tito na panoek o tih, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih, tiah a thuih.
Realizing what they did and how they acted will help you to see that I had good reasons to do everything I did to Jerusalem, declares the Lord God.”
