< Deuteronomy 15 >
1 Saning sarihto boeng kruek, laiba tahmen oh.
At the end of every seven years, you shall cancel debts.
2 Laiba tahmenhaih loklam loe hae tiah sah oh; Angraeng mah laiba tahmenhaih ni, tiah taphong ih atue ah oh pongah, phoisa coi kami mah a imtaeng kami hanah coisak ih phoisa loe azom ah ohsak han oh; a imtaeng kami khaeah maw, to tih ai boeh loe angmah ih nawkamyanawk khaeah maw, laiba to suk mak ai boeh.
This is the way it shall be done: every creditor shall release that which he has lent to his neighbour. He shall not require payment from his neighbour and his brother, because the LORD’s release has been proclaimed.
3 Prae kalah kaminawk khaeah loe, laiba to na suk o thaih; toe nam nawkamya khaeah loe laiba to azom ah ni om tih boeh;
Of a foreigner you may require it; but whatever of yours is with your brother, your hand shall release.
4 na Angraeng Sithaw mah qawktoep hanah paek ih prae thungah, paroeai tahamhoihaih na hnuk o pongah, to tiah na sak o nahaeloe, nangcae salakah kamtang kami to om mak ai.
However there will be no poor with you (for the LORD will surely bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance to possess)
5 Vaihniah kang paek o ih loknawk hae pazui moe, na sak o hanah, na Angraeng Sithawh ih lok to tahngai oh.
if only you diligently listen to the LORD your God’s voice, to observe to do all this commandment which I command you today.
6 A lokkam ih baktih toengah, na Angraeng Sithaw mah tahamhoihaih na paek o ueloe, paroeai prae kalah kaminawk to na coi o sak tih; toe nangcae loe mi khaeah doeh na coi o mak ai; kapop parai prae kaminawk to na uk o tih; toe nangcae loe mi mah doeh na uk o mak ai.
For the LORD your God will bless you, as he promised you. You will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow. You will rule over many nations, but they will not rule over you.
7 Na Angraeng Sithaw mah nangcae khaeah paek ih prae ah kaom, na vangpui thungah kamtang nam nawkamyanawk maeto om nahaeloe, a nuiah palung thahsak hmah loe, nam nawkamya nuiah ban to tamuep o hmah;
If a poor man, one of your brothers, is with you within any of your gates in your land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother;
8 a nuiah na ban kuuhoih o sak loe, anih angaihaih baktih toengah, anih angaih zetto azom ah coi o sak ah.
but you shall surely open your hand to him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, which he lacks.
9 Hae baktih kasae poekhaih na tawnh o han ai ah acoe oh; saning sarihto boenghaih, laiba tahmenhaih atue loe zoi boeh, tiah na panoek o naah, kamtang kami nam nawkamya nuiah kasae poekhaih na tawnh o moe, anih han tidoeh na paek o ai, to naah anih mah Angraeng Sithaw khaeah na nuiah palung hoih aihaih hoiah lawkthui nahaeloe, na nuiah zaehaih om tih.
Beware that there not be a wicked thought in your heart, saying, “The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,” and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing; and he cry to the LORD against you, and it be sin to you.
10 Anih han palung tang hoi paek ah, anih paek hanah hmuen paawthaih to tawn hmah; to tiah na sak nahaeloe na sak ih hmuen nuiah, Angraeng Sithaw mah, na toksakhaih boih ah maw, na ban hoi sui ih hmuennawk boih nuiah maw tahamhoihaih to paek tih.
You shall surely give, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because it is for this thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you put your hand to.
11 Amtang kaminawk loe natuek naah doeh prae thung hoiah boeng o mak ai; to pongah na prae thungah kaom, nam nawkamya nui hoi kamtang moe, kavawt kaminawk khaeah na ban kuuhoih o sak ah.
For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command you to surely open your hand to your brother, to your needy, and to your poor, in your land.
12 Hebrai kami nongpa maw, to tih ai boeh loe nongpata maw, kami maeto nang khaeah zawh, anih mah na tok to saning tarukto thungah na sah pae boeh nahaeloe, saning sarihto naah loe anih to loisak ah.
If your brother, a Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you and serves you six years, then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.
13 Anih na loihsak naah, anih to bankrai ah caehsak hmah.
When you let him go free from you, you shall not let him go empty.
14 Anih na loihsak naah, na tawnh ih tuunawk, na hak ih cangnawk hoi na pasawh ih misurtuinawk to koeh zetto paawt ai ah phawsak ah; na Angraeng Sithaw mah tahamhoihaih paek baktih toengah, anih han doeh paek toeng ah.
You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, out of your threshing floor, and out of your wine press. As the LORD your God has blessed you, you shall give to him.
15 Izip prae thungah misong ah na oh o naah, Angraeng mah ang pahlong o, tito panoek oh; to pongah vaihniah hae loknawk hae kang paek o.
You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you. Therefore I command you this thing today.
16 Toe na tamna mah nangmah hoi na imthung takohnawk to palung moe, nang khaeah khosak loe hoih, tiah poek pongah, nang khaeah, Tacawt han ka koeh ai, tiah thui nahaeloe,
It shall be, if he tells you, “I will not go out from you,” because he loves you and your house, because he is well with you,
17 sum kamsum to la ah loe, thok taengah anih ih naa to taqawt paeh; to pacoengah anih loe a hing thung na tamna ah om tih boeh; tamna nongpata doeh, to tiah sah ah.
then you shall take an awl, and thrust it through his ear to the door, and he shall be your servant forever. Also to your female servant you shall do likewise.
18 Na misong loisakhaih to karai parai hmuen ah poek hmah; saning tarukto thung anih mah nang hanah ang sak pae ih tok loe, kami na tlai moe, saksak ih tok pongah, alet hnetto kamtlai ah hoih kue; to tiah na sak nahaeloe toksakhaih boih ah na Angraeng Sithaw mah tahamhoihaih na paek tih.
It shall not seem hard to you when you let him go free from you, for he has been double the value of a hired hand as he served you six years. The LORD your God will bless you in all that you do.
19 Tapen tangsuek maitaw hoi tuu caa to na Angraeng Sithaw hanah pahoe ah; tapen tangsuek maitaw caa to laikok atok han patoh hmah; tapen tangsuek tuu to amui aat hmah.
You shall dedicate all the firstborn males that are born of your herd and of your flock to the LORD your God. You shall do no work with the firstborn of your herd, nor shear the firstborn of your flock.
20 Angraeng mah qoih ih ahmuen ah, na Angraeng Sithaw hmaa ah, nangmah hoi na imthung takoh boih, saning kruek maitaw hoi tuu caa moi to caa oh.
You shall eat it before the LORD your God year by year in the place which the LORD shall choose, you and your household.
21 Maitaw hoi tuu loe coek koiah oh; khokkhaem maw, to tih ai boeh loe mikmaeng moe, coek koi om nahaeloe, na Angraeng Sithaw khaeah angbawnhaih ah paek hmah.
If it has any defect—is lame or blind, or has any defect whatever, you shall not sacrifice it to the LORD your God.
22 Moi to nangmacae khongkha thungah caa oh; kaciim doeh kaciim ai kami doeh, tasuk hoi sakhi moi caak baktih toengah caak thaih.
You shall eat it within your gates. The unclean and the clean shall eat it alike, as the gazelle and as the deer.
23 Toe athii loe caa o hmah; tui baktiah long ah krai oh.
Only you shall not eat its blood. You shall pour it out on the ground like water.
