< Deuteronomy 13 >
1 Tahmaa, to tih ai boeh loe amang kasah, nangcae salakah kaom angmathaih hoi dawnraihaih hmuen taphong kami to oh,
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 anih mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, angmathaih hoi dawnrai hmuen to oh, Na panoek o ai ih kalah sithawnawk hnukah caeh si loe, a tok to sah pae o si, tiah na thui nahaeloe,
And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 to tahmaa maw, to tih ai boeh loe amang sah kami ih lok to tahngai o hmah; na Angraeng Sithaw mah na palungthin boih, na hinghaih boih hoiah na Angraeng Sithaw to palung o maw, palung o ai, tiah na Angraeng Sithaw mah tanoekhaih ih tok ni.
Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 Nangcae loe na Angraeng Sithaw hnukah bang oh, anih to zii oh; ang paek ih loknawk to pakuem oh loe, a lok to tahngai oh; a tok to sah oh loe, anih to kacakah patawn oh.
Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
5 Izip kaminawk ih ban thung hoiah nangcae zaehoikung, misong thung hoiah nangcae pahlongkung, na Angraeng Sithaw ih loklam to amkhraeng taak ving moe, na Angraeng Sithaw mah pazui han paek ih lok angqoi taak ving hanah lok a thuih pongah, to tahmaa maw, to tih ai boeh loe amang sah kami to hum han oh; to tiah nangcae salakah kaom kasae hmuennawk to tamit oh.
And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn [you] away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
6 Nam nawkamya, na canu, na capa, na palung ih na zu, nangmah ih takpum baktiah na poek ih nam pui mah maw, caeh si loe nangmah hoi nam panawk mah panoek vai ai ih, kalah sithawnawk to bok si, tiah a thuih,
If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which [is] as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
7 nangcae taengah kaom sithawnawk, kangthla ah maw, kazoi ah maw, to tih ai boeh loe long maeto hoi maeto boenghaih khoek to ah na zoek o langlacadoeh,
[Namely], of the gods of the people which [are] round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the [one] end of the earth even unto the [other] end of the earth;
8 anih to paroi o hmah loe, a lok doeh tahngai pae o hmah; anih to tahmen hmah; anih to pathlung hmah loe, hawk doeh hawk hmah;
Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
9 anih to na hum o tangtang han oh; anih to hum hanah na ban phok hmaloe ah, to pacoengah kami boih mah ban phok o thuih nasoe.
But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
10 Misong ah ohhaih, Izip prae thung hoiah zaehoikung, na Angraeng Sithaw to amkhraeng taak ving hanah, thapaek pongah, anih to duek hanah, thlung hoiah va o maat ah.
And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
11 To tiah ni Israel kaminawk mah thaih o naah, zii o ueloe, to baktih kahoih ai hmuen to mi mah doeh nangcae salakah sah o mak ai.
And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.
12 A thungah na oh o hanah, na Angraeng Sithaw mah paek ih, vangpui maeto ah,
If thou shalt hear [say] in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,
13 nangcae salakah kaom, kasae kaminawk mah caeh o moe, Na panoek o vai ai ih kalah sithawnawk bok hanah, caeh o si, tiah to vangpui kaminawk to kahoih ai loklam ah caeh haih ving boeh, tiah na thaih o nahaeloe,
[Certain] men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
14 loktang maw loktang ai, tito kahoih ah dueng oh; khenah, hmuen loe to tiah oh tangtang moe, nangcae salakah panuet thok hmuen to sah o tangtang nahaeloe,
Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, [if it be] truth, [and] the thing certain, [that] such abomination is wrought among you;
15 to vangpui thungah kaom kaminawk boih to sumsen hoiah hum oh; a thungah kaom kaminawk hoi a tawnh o ih moinawk doeh sumsen hoiah hum o boih ah.
Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that [is] therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
16 To vangpui thung hoiah lak ih hmuennawk to lampui ah tapop o boih ah loe, to vangpui thung hoiah lak ih hmuennawk to, na Angraeng Sithaw hmaa ah hmai hoi nawnto qoeng o boih ah; to vangpui loe natuek naah doeh sah let mak ai, dungzan khoek to anghnoeng tapophaih ahmuen ah ni om tih.
And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
17 Tangoeng ih hmuen to maeto doeh na ban ah suem hmah; to tiah nahaeloe na Angraeng palungphuihaih to dip ueloe, nangcae khaeah palungnathaih hoi amlunghaih to amtuengsak tih,
And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;
18 na Angraeng Sithaw ih lok to na tahngaih o, vaihniah kang paek o ih a loknawk to na pazui o boih moe, a mikhnuk ah katoeng hmuen to na sak o nahaeloe, nam panawk khaeah a sak ih lokkamhaih baktih toengah nangcae to angpungsak tih.
When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do [that which is] right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.
