< Amos 2 >

1 Angraeng mah, Moab prae zaehaih thumto hoi palito pacoengah, Edom siangpahrang ih ahuh hmai hoi a thlaek pongah, danpaekhaih to ka zuk let mak ai, tiah thuih.
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Moab, even four, I will not revoke My judgment, because he burned to lime the bones of Edom’s king.
2 Moab nuiah hmai ka patoeh han, to hmai mah Kerioth ih angraeng ohhaih ahmuennawk to kang tih; Moab loe misatuk hanghaih lok hoi mongkah lok amsong naah dueh tih.
So I will send fire against Moab to consume the citadels of Kerioth. Moab will die in tumult, amid war cries and the sound of the ram’s horn.
3 Nihcae lokcaek kami to ka hum han, angmah hoi anih ih ukkung angraengnawk to ka hum pae boih han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
I will cut off the ruler of Moab and kill all the officials with him,”
4 Angraeng mah, Judah acaeng zaehaih thumto hoi palito haih pacoengah, Angraeng ih kaalok to nihcae mah patoek o, a paek ih loknawk to pazui o ai pongah, danpaekhaih to ka zuk let mak ai; lok amlaihaih mah nihcae loklam anghmang sak boeh.
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Judah, even four, I will not revoke My judgment, because they reject the Law of the LORD and fail to keep His statutes; they are led astray by the lies in which their fathers walked.
5 To pongah Judah nuiah hmai ka patoeh han, to hmai mah Jerusalem ih angraeng ohhaih ahmuennawk to kang tih.
So I will send fire upon Judah to consume the citadels of Jerusalem.”
6 Angraeng mah, Israel ih zaehaih thumto hoi palito haih pacoengah, katoeng kami to sum kanglung hoiah a zawh o moe, amtang kaminawk khokpanai bum maeto hoiah a zawh o pongah, danpaekhaih ka zuk let mak ai, tiah thuih.
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Israel, even four, I will not revoke My judgment, because they sell the righteous for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals.
7 Nihcae mah amtang kaminawk ih lu to maiphu phuih pae o, poek pahnaem kaminawk to loklam amkhraeng o sak: Kai ih ahmin amhnongsak hanah, ampa hoi a capa loe saning kanawk nongpata maeto khaeah nawn to caeh hoi.
They trample on the heads of the poor as on the dust of the earth; they push the needy out of their way. A man and his father have relations with the same girl and so profane My holy name.
8 Nihcae loe hmaicam kruek ih khukbuen nuiah angsong o moe, minawk khae hoi lak o ih misurtui to angmacae sithaw imthung ah a naek o.
They lie down beside every altar on garments taken in pledge. And in the house of their God, they drink wine obtained through fines.
9 Sidar thing baktih kasang, oak thing baktiah kamtak, Amor kaminawk to nihcae hma ah ka hum pae; ranui ih athaih hoi atlim ih tangzun to kam rosak.
Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, though his height was like that of the cedars, and he was as strong as the oaks. Yet I destroyed his fruit above and his roots below.
10 Izip prae hoiah kang hoih moe, Amor kaminawk ih prae to paek hanah, saning qui palito thung praezaek ah kang hoih o.
And I brought you up from the land of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness, that you might take possession of the land of the Amorite.
11 Thoemto na capanawk to tahmaa baktiah ka suek moe, na thendoengnawk to Nazaret kami baktiah ka suek. Aw nangcae Israel kaminawk, hae lok loe amsoem ai maw? tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
I raised up prophets from your sons and Nazirites from your young men. Is this not true, O children of Israel?”
12 Toe nangcae mah Nazaret kami to misurtui naek hanah na paek o moe, tahmaanawk khaeah lok to taphong hmah, tiah na naa o.
“But you made the Nazirites drink wine and commanded the prophets not to prophesy.
13 Khenah, kazit cangqui mah hrang leeng to taeh baktih toengah, nangcae mah kai nang taeh o.
Behold, I am about to crush you in your place as with a cart full of grain.
14 To pongah cawn na rang o parai cadoeh, na loih o thai mak ai, nang hmaa o tih, thacak kami loe a tha to pathok thaih mak ai, tharah kami doeh angmah hoi angmah to amhlong thai mak ai:
Escape will fail the swift, the strong will not prevail by his strength, and the mighty will not save his life.
15 kalii kat thaih kami doeh angdoe thai mak ai, lamcaeh karang kami doeh loih thai mak ai, hrang angthueng kami doeh angmah hoi angmah amhlong thai mak ai.
The archer will not stand his ground, the fleet of foot will not escape, and the horseman will not save his life.
16 To na niah loe misahoih koek thacak kaminawk doeh bangkrai ah cawn o tih, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Even the bravest of mighty men will flee naked on that day,”
