1 Toe Anania, tiah ahmin kaom kami maeto loe, a zu Sapphira hoi nawnto a tawnh hoi ih hmuen to a zawh,
BUT a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2 anih loe angmah hanah phoisa to suek thoem, to tiah suek ih hmuen to a zu mah doeh panoek, thoemto phoisa loe patoeh ih kaminawk khokkung ah a sinh.
And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
3 Toe Piter mah, Anania, Tipongah Kacai Muithla aling hanah, Setan palung thungah na koisak moe, long zawh ih thoemto phoisa to nangmah hanah na suek loe?
But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Long na zaw ai naah long loe nangmah ih hmuen ah ni oh, na zawh pacoengah doeh phoisa loe nangmah ih hmuen ah na ai maw oh? Tipongah aling hanah hae tiah palung thungah na poek loe? Nang loe kami to aling ai ah, Sithaw ni na ling, tiah a naa.
Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5 To lok to Anania mah thaih naah, anih loe amtimh moe, duek: to tamthang thaih kaminawk boih loe paroeai zit o.
And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
6 Thendoengnawk angthawk o moe, anih ih qok to kahni hoi ayaw o pacoengah, anih to tasa bangah angzawn o moe, aphum o.
And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
7 Atue thumto pacoengah, a zu to angzoh, to tiah kaom hmuen to anih mah panoek ai.
And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
8 Piter mah anih khaeah, Long loe hae zetto hoiah maw na zawh hoi? Na thui ah, tiah a naa. Anih mah, ue, to zetto hoiah ni ka zawh hoi, tiah a naa.
And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
9 Piter mah anih khaeah, Kawbangmaw Angraeng ih Muithla tanoek hanah palung na due hoi? Khenah, na sava aphum kaminawk ih khok loe khongkha taengah ni oh o vop, nang doeh nihcae mah tasa bangah angzawn o tih, tiah a naa.
Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10 To naah anih loe Piter ih khokkung ah amtimh moe, duek: thendoengnawk a thungah akun o, anih ih qok to hnuk o naah, angzawn o pacoengah, anih to a sava ih taprong taengah aphum o.
Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
11 To pongah kricabunawk hoi to tamthang thaih paroeai kaminawk boih nuiah kalen parai zithaih to phak.
And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
12 Patoeh ih kaminawk loe kaminawk hma ah pop parai dawnrai hmuen hoi angmathaih hmuennawk to sak o; (nihcae loe poekhaih maeto hoiah Solomon ih impoem ta ah angcu o boih.
And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.
13 Zit o pongah mi doeh nihcae khaeah athum o ai, toe kaminawk mah nihcae hanah paroeai khingyahaih to paek o.
And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14 To tiah Angraeng tang kami, nongpa hoi nongpata paroeai pung o).
And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15 Piter loklam ah caeh naah anih ih pakhra mah tahlip thuih nasoe, tiah a poek o pongah, nganna kaminawk to loklam ah hoih o moe, iihkhun nuiah angsong o sak.
Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 Jerusalem taengah kaom avang kaminawk angzoh o moe, nganna kaminawk hoi taqawk mah naeh ih kaminawk to hoih o: nihcae loe ngantui o boih.
There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
17 To pacoengah kalen koek qaima hoi anih taengah kaom kaminawk (nihcae loe Sadusi kaminawk thungah athum kami ah oh o) loe paroeai palungphui o moe, angthawk o ving.
Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees, ) and were filled with indignation,
18 Patoeh ih kaminawk to naeh o moe, thongim pakhrak o.
And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
19 Toe khoving naah Angraeng ih van kami mah thongim thok to paongh pae moe, nihcae to tacawtsak,
But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,
20 caeh oh, tempul thung ih kaminawk khaeah angdoe oh loe, hae hinghaih loknawk boih hae thui oh, tiah a naa.
Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
21 Nihcae mah to lok to thaih o naah, khawnthaw ah tempul thungah akun o moe, patuk o. Toe kalen koek qaima hoi anih taengah kaom kaminawk to angzoh o, Israel kacoehtanawk boih amkhueng hanah a kawk o moe, thongim thungah kaom patoeh ih kaminawk to laksak.
And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
22 Toe toksah kaminawk thongim ah phak o naah, patoeh ih kaminawk to thongim thungah hnu o ai, to pongah nihcae loe amlaem o let,
But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told,
23 kahoihah kangkha thongim to ka hnuk o, khongkha taengah angdoe thongim toep kaminawk doeh ka hnuk o: toe khongkha ka paongh o naah a thungah mi doeh ka hnu o ai, tiah a naa o.
Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
24 Kalen qaima, tempul thungah toksah angraeng hoi kalen koek qaimanawk mah to lok to thaih o naah, kawbangmaw to tiah hmuen om thai tih, tiah a poek anghmang hoiah oh o.
Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.
25 To naah kami maeto angzoh moe, nihcae khaeah, Khenah, thongim na pakhrak o ih kaminawk loe tempul thungah angdoet o moe, kaminawk to patuk o, tiah a naa.
Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
26 To naah misatuh angraeng loe angmah ih kaminawk hoi nawnto caeh, kaminawk mah nihcae to thlung hoiah va o moeng tih, tiah a zit o pongah, patoeh ih kaminawk to lunghoihta hoiah a hoih o.
Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
27 Nihcae a hoih o pacoengah, lokcaek kaminawk hma ah suek o moe, araengh sang qaima mah nihcae khaeah,
And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
28 hae kami ih ahmin hoiah kaminawk patuk han ai ah lok kang thuih o boeh na ai maw? Khenah, Jerusalem loe nangcae patukhaih hoiah koi boeh, hae kami ih athii kaicae nuiah kraksak hanah na pacaeng o, tiah a naa o.
Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
29 To naah Piter hoi patoeh ih kalah kaminawk mah, Kaicae loe kami ih lok pongah loe Sithaw ih lok to ni ka tahngaih o han, tiah a naa o.
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
30 Thinglam nuiah na takhing o moe, na hum o ih, Jesu loe aicae ampanawk ih Sithaw mah pathawk let boeh.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
31 Israel kaminawk khaeah dawnpakhuemhaih hoi zae tahmenhaih to paek hanah, Anih to Sithaw mah a bantang ban hoiah Angraeng hoi pahlongkung ah pakoeh boeh.
Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32 Kaicae loe hae hmuennawk hnukung ah ka oh o, to baktih toengah Angmah lok tahngai kaminawk khaeah Sithaw mah paek ih Kacai Muithla hnukung ah doeh ka oh o.
And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
33 Nihcae mah to lok to thaih o naah, palungphui o moe, nihcae to hum hanah patoem o.
When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.
34 Toe kaalok patukkung, kami boih thungah ahmin kamthang, Gamaliel, tiah ahmin kaom Farasi kami maeto loe lokcaekhaih im ah angdoet moe, patoeh ih kaminawk to nawnetta thung tasa bangah tacawt o hanah lok a paek.
Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
35 Anih mah toah kaom kaminawk khaeah, Israel kaminawk, hae kaminawk nuiah sak han na tim o ih hmuen pongah acoe oh.
And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
36 Canghnii ah Teuda, tiah ahmin kaom kami maeto mah kai loe lokpui parai ah kaom kami maeto ah ka oh, tiah a thuih; anih hnukah kami cumvai palito bang o: toe paroeai a hnukbang kaminawk loe, anih duek pacoengah ampraek o phang moe, tiah doeh angcoeng o ai.
For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
37 Anih pacoengah doeh Juda, tiah ahmin kaom Kalili kami maeto loe milu lakhaih atue nathuem ah, to tiah oh let bae, paroeai kaminawk anih hnukah bang o: anih to duek naah, paroeai a hnukbang kaminawk loe ampraek o phang.
After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
38 Vaihi hae kaminawk hoi kamhoe ah na oh o hanah, lok kang thuih o, nihcae loe angmacae hmawk ah om o nasoe: a sak o ih tok loe kami ih tok ah om nahaeloe, anghmaa angtaa tih:
And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
39 toe Sithaw ih tok ah om nahaeloe, na phrae o thai mak ai; to tih ai nahaeloe nangcae loe Sithaw ih lok aek kami ah na om o moeng tih, tiah a naa.
But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
40 Anih mah thuih ih lok to nihcae mah tahngaih pae o: to pacoengah nihcae mah patoeh ih kaminawk to a thungah kawk o moe, boh o, Jesu ih ahmin hoiah lokthuih o han ai ah, a thuih pae o pacoengah prawt o.
And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 Patoeh ih kaminawk loe lokcaekhaih im hoiah tacawt o, Anih ih ahmin pongah patang a khang o moe, azathaih a tongh o cadoeh atho oh, tiah a poek o pongah, nihcae loe anghoehaih tawnh o.
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 Nithokkruek tempul hoi im kruekah, anghak ai ah patuk o moe, Jesu Kri tamthanglok hoih to taphong o.
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
