1 Saul capa Ish-Boseth mah Hebron vangpui ah Abner duek boeh, tiah thaih naah, a ban thazok pae sut, Israel kaminawk boih doeh tasoeh o.
And the son of Saul heareth that Abner [is] dead in Hebron, and his hands are feeble, and all Israel have been troubled.
2 Saul capa loe misatuh zaehoikung angraeng hnetto tawnh; maeto loe Baanah, kalah maeto loe Rekap, tiah kawk o; nihnik loe Benjamin acaeng, Beeroth imthung takoh Rimmon ih caa ah oh hoi; Beeroth loe Benjamin acaeng thungah athum;
And two men, heads of troops, have been [to] the son of Saul, the name of the one [is] Baanah, and the name of the second Rechab, sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, of the sons of Benjamin, for also Beeroth is reckoned to Benjamin,
3 Beeroth kaminawk loe Gittaim ah cawnh o moe, to ah vaihni ni khoek to oh o.
and the Beerothites flee to Gittaim, and are there sojourners unto this day.
4 Saul capa Jonathan mah khokkhaem capa maeto sak; anih loe saning pangato oh naah, Jezreel vangpui ah Saul hoi Jonathan ih tamthang to thaih; to naah anih khenzawnkung mah anih to lak moe, cawnh haih, palung tawt kak hoiah a cawnh pongah amthaek, to pacoengah nawkta to khokkhaem ving. To nawkta ih ahmin loe Mephiboseth.
And to Jonathan son of Saul [is] a son — lame; he was a son of five years at the coming in of the rumour of [the death of] Saul and Jonathan, out of Jezreel, and his nurse lifteth him up, and fleeth, and it cometh to pass in her hasting to flee, that he falleth, and becometh lame, and his name [is] Mephibosheth.
5 Beeroth acaeng Rimmon capa, Rekab hoi Baanah loe Ish-Boseth im ah caeh hoi moe, athun naah phak hoi; to nathuem ah Ish-Boseth loe ihkhun nuiah iih.
And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, go, and come in at the heat of the day unto the house of Ish-Bosheth, and he is lying down — the lying down of noon;
6 Rekab hoi Baanah nawkamya hnik loe takaw hni kami baktiah angsak hoi moe, imthung ah akun hoi poe pacoengah, Ish-Boseth to panak ah thunh hoi. To pacoengah Rekab hoi amnawk Baanah loe cawnh hoi ving.
and thither they have come, unto the midst of the house, taking wheat, and they smite him unto the fifth [rib], and Rechab and Baanah his brother have escaped;
7 Anih loe angmah ih iihkhun nuiah angsong naah, nihnik loe imthung ah caeh hoi moe, anih to thunh hoi; a hum hoi pacoengah, anih ih tahnong to takroek pae hoi pat; a lu to sinh hoi moe, aqum puek azawn bang hoiah cawnh hoi ving.
yea, they come in to the house, and he is lying on his bed, in the inner part of his bed-chamber, and they smite him, and put him to death, and turn aside his head, and they take his head, and go the way of the plain all the night,
8 Ish-Boseth ih lu to Hebron ah David khaeah sinh hoi, siangpahrang khaeah, Khenah, na hinghaih lak han patoemkung, na misa Saul capa Ish-Boseth ih lu; Saul hoi a caanawk khaeah vaihniah Angraeng mah, ka angraeng siangpahrang hanah lu lak boeh, tiah a naa hoi.
and bring in the head of Ish-Bosheth unto David in Hebron, and say unto the king, 'Lo, the head of Ish-Bosheth, son of Saul, thine enemy, who sought thy life; and Jehovah doth give to my lord the king vengeance this day, of Saul and of his seed.'
9 David mah, Raihaih congca thung hoi ka hinghaih pahlongkung Angraeng loe hing baktih toengah, Beeroth acaeng, Rimmon capa Rekab hoi amnawk Baanah khaeah,
And David answereth Rechab and Baanah his brother, sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and saith to them, 'Jehovah liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
10 kami maeto mah Saul loe duek boeh, tiah ang thuih, to naah tamthang thuikung mah nang hanah tamthang kang sinh, tiah a poek, tamthang a sin pongah kai mah anih hanah tangqum paek tih, tiah a poek; toe Ziklag vangpui ah anih to naeh moe, ka hum;
when one is declaring to me, saying, Lo, Saul is dead, and he was as a bearer of tidings in his own eyes, then I take hold on him, and slay him in Ziklag, instead of my giving to him [for] the tidings.
11 kasae kaminawk mah, a iihhaih ahmuen ah kaom zaehaih tawn ai kami to pangh moe, hum pongah, vaihi nanghnik ban ah anih ih athii tho to ka suk moe, nanghnik hae long hoiah tamit hanah kawkrukmaw ka sak han oh? tiah a naa.
Also — when wicked men have slain the righteous man in his own house, on his bed; and now, do not I require his blood of your hand, and have taken you away from the earth?'
12 To pongah David mah angmah ih kaminawk khaeah, nihnik to humsak; nihnik ih khok hoi bannawk to takroek pae o moe, Hebron vangpui ih tuili taengah bangh o. Toe Ish-Boseth ih lu loe lak o moe, Hebron vangpui ah Abner ih taprong ah aphum o.
And David commandeth the young men, and they slay them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hang [them] over the pool in Hebron, and the head of Ish-Bosheth they have taken, and bury [it] in the burying-place of Abner in Hebron.
