< 2 Samuel 22 >
1 Angraeng mah David to angmah ih misanawk hoi Saul ih ban thung hoiah loisak naah, hae tiah laa loknawk to a thuih,
David spoke to the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,
2 anih mah, Angraeng loe ka lungsong, kang hawkhaih hoi kai pahlongkung ah oh;
and he said: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;
3 Sithaw loe ka lungsong ah oh moe, kang hawkhaih ah oh; anih loe ka phaw hoi pahlonghaih takii ah oh. Kai ih sipae, kang hawkhaih hoi pahlongkung ah oh moe, athii palong koeh kasae kaminawk ban thung hoiah nang pahlong.
God is my rock in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. My saviour, you save me from violence.
4 Pakoeh han kamcuk, Angraeng to ka kawk naah, ka misanawk salak hoiah pahlong ah ka oh.
I call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
5 Duekhaih tuiphu mah ang takui naah, amrohaih kalen tui mah ang khuk moe, ang pazih.
For the waves of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.
6 Hell qui mah angzaeng caeng moe, duekhaih thaang mah ang pakaa khoep. (Sheol )
The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death caught me. (Sheol )
7 Palungboeng naah Angraeng to ka kawk; ka Sithaw to ka kawk; anih mah angmah ih tempul imthung hoiah ka lok to ang tahgaih pae, ka qahhaih lok anih ih naa thungah akun.
In my distress, I called on the LORD. Yes, I called to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry came into his ears.
8 Anih palungphui pongah, long loe tasoeh takuenhaih hoiah oh; van ohhaih ahmuennawk doeh anghuen moe, angthuih o.
Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, because he was angry.
9 Anih ih hnahkhaw thung hoiah hmaikhue to tacawt moe, anih ih pakha hoiah hmaipalai to tacawt pongah, hmaisaae to amngaeh.
Smoke went up out of his nostrils. Consuming fire came out of his mouth. Coals were kindled by it.
10 Vannawk to takoih moe, angzoh tathuk; a khok tlim ah vinghaih to oh.
He bowed the heavens also, and came down. Thick darkness was under his feet.
11 Cehrubim pongah angthueng moe, azawk; anih loe takhi pakhraeh nuiah amtueng.
He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he was seen on the wings of the wind.
12 Anih taengah vinghaih to suek moe, tui kaving, van ih kathah tamai hoiah a khuk.
He made darkness a shelter around himself, gathering of waters, and thick clouds of the skies.
13 Anih hmaa ah kaom aanghaih mah, hmaisaae to amngaehsak.
At the brightness before him, coals of fire were kindled.
14 Angraeng mah van ah khopazihsak moe, ranui koek ah lok to amsongsak.
The LORD thundered from heaven. The Most High uttered his voice.
15 Kaliinawk to kah moe, tangphra to pueksak pongah, a misanawk to anghaehsak phaeng.
He sent out arrows and scattered them, lightning and confused them.
16 Sithaw mah thuitaek pongah, a hnah thung ih takhi hoiah tuipui longhaih ahmuen hoiah long ohhaih ahmuen to amtuengsak.
Then the channels of the sea appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare by the LORD’s rebuke, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.
17 Ranui bang hoiah ban to payangh moe, kathuk tui thung hoiah kai ang talawk.
He sent from on high and he took me. He drew me out of many waters.
18 Kai hnuma moe, kai hanah thacak parai misanawk ih ban thung hoiah kai ang pahlong.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
19 Raihaih ka tongh na niah nihcae mah ang pakaa; toe Angraeng loe kam haahaih ah oh.
They came on me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my support.
20 Kai to kalen parai ahmuen ah ang suek; kai palung pongah, ang pahlong.
He also brought me out into a large place. He delivered me, because he delighted in me.
21 Ka toenghaih baktih toengah, Angraeng mah tangqum ang paek; ka ban ciimhaih baktih toengah, kai hanah tangqum ang paek.
The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness. He rewarded me according to the cleanness of my hands.
22 Angraeng ih loklam to ka pazui; kahoih ai hmuen sak hanah, ka Sithaw to kang qoi taak ai.
For I have kept the LORD’s ways, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
23 A thuitaekhaih loknawk loe ka hmaa ah oh, a paek ih loknawk to kang qoi taak ai.
For all his ordinances were before me. As for his statutes, I didn’t depart from them.
24 A hmaa ah toenghaih hoiah ka oh moe, zaehaih to ka yae.
I was also perfect towards him. I kept myself from my iniquity.
25 To pongah Angraeng mah ka toenghaih hoi a mikhnukah ka ciimcaihaih baktih toengah, tangqum to ang paek boeh.
Therefore the LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, According to my cleanness in his eyesight.
26 Tahmenhaih tawn kami khaeah tahmenhaih, katoeng kami khaeah na toenghaih to nam tuengsak.
With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect.
27 Ciimcai kaminawk khaeah ciimcaihaih, lokaek thaih kaminawk khaeah sethaih to nam tuengsak.
With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.
28 Patangkhang kaminawk to na pahlong; toe amoek kaminawk loe atlim ah na pakhrak tathuk.
You will save the afflicted people, but your eyes are on the arrogant, that you may bring them down.
29 Nang loe kai ih hmaithaw ah na oh; Aw Angraeng; Angraeng mah kai khovinghaih to khodai ah angcoengsak.
For you are my lamp, LORD. The LORD will light up my darkness.
30 Nang oephaih rang hoiah misatuh kaminawk to ka patoeh moe, ka Sithaw rang hoiah sipae to ka poeng thaih.
For by you, I run against a troop. By my God, I leap over a wall.
31 Sithaw ih loklam loe akoep; Angraeng ih lok loe coek koi om ai; a nuiah amha kaminawk hanah anih loe aphaw ah oh.
As for God, his way is perfect. The LORD’s word is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.
32 Angraeng pacoengah, mi maw Sithaw ah kaom vop?
For who is God, besides the LORD? Who is a rock, besides our God?
33 Sithaw loe ka thacakhaih hoi tharahhaih ah oh; anih mah ka loklam to akoepsak.
God is my strong fortress. He makes my way perfect.
34 Ka khok hae tasuk khok baktiah ang sak pae moe, hmuensang ah ang suek.
He makes his feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me on my high places.
35 Misatuk thaih hanah ka ban hae patuk pongah, ka ban mah sum kalii to khaeh thaih.
He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of bronze.
36 Pazawkhaih aphaw to nang paek moe, poeknaemhaih hoiah nang lensak.
You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great.
37 Ka hmaa ih loklam to na kawksak pongah, ka khok hae amkhraeng ai.
You have enlarged my steps under me. My feet have not slipped.
38 Ka misanawk to patom moe, ka hum; nihcae ka paro ai karoek to kam laem let ai.
I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them. I didn’t turn again until they were consumed.
39 Nihcae loe ahmaa caak o moe, ka tamit boih; angthawk o thai ai boeh; ue, ka khok tlim ah amtim o boih.
I have consumed them, and struck them through, so that they can’t arise. Yes, they have fallen under my feet.
40 Misatuk hanah thacakhaih hoiah nang zaeng moe, kai tuk hanah misa angthawk kaminawk to ka khokkung ah na kuepsak.
For you have armed me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.
41 Kai hnuma kaminawk ka hum thai hanah, nihcae ih tahnong to kai han nang paek.
You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.
42 Nihcae loe khet o, toe pahlongkung maeto doeh om ai; Angraeng khaeah a hang o; toe anih mah pathim pae ai.
They looked, but there was no one to save; even to the LORD, but he didn’t answer them.
43 Nihcae to long ih maiphu baktiah ka boh; loklam ih tangkrok baktiah ka cawh moe, ka haeh phaeng.
Then I beat them as small as the dust of the earth. I crushed them as the mire of the streets, and spread them abroad.
44 Kai ih kami tuh kaminawk ih ban thung hoiah nang pahlong moe, Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk ih lu ah nang ohsak; ka panoek vai ai ih kaminawk mah ka tok ang sak pae o.
You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people. You have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known will serve me.
45 Prae kalah kaminawk loe kai khaeah akun o, ka lok thaih o naah, ka lok to tahngaih o.
The foreigners will submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear of me, they will obey me.
46 Prae kalah kaminawk loe thazok o sut pongah, tasoeh takuenhaih hoiah oh o moe, angmacae ohhaih ahmuen hoiah tacawt o.
The foreigners will fade away, and will come trembling out of their close places.
47 Angraeng loe hing; ka lungsong loe tahamhoihaih om nasoe! Sithaw, ka pahlonghaih lungsong loe, pakoehhaih om nasoe.
The LORD lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,
48 Anih loe kai taham lu lakung Sithaw ah oh moe, kaminawk to ka khok tlim ah a suek.
even the God who executes vengeance for me, who brings down peoples under me,
49 Anih mah ka misanawk khae hoiah ang loisak; ka misanawk nuiah nang thuengh tahang moe, hmawhsaeng kaminawk ban thung hoiah nang pahlong.
who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.
50 To pongah Aw Angraeng, Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk salakah, nang khaeah anghoehaih lok to ka thuih, na hmin pakoehhaih laa to ka sak han.
Therefore I will give thanks to you, LORD, amongst the nations, and will sing praises to your name.
51 Anih loe angmah ih siangpahrang hanah pahlonghaih imsang ah oh; situi hoi bawh ih David hoi anih ih caanawk khaeah, tahmenhaih dungzan khoek to amtuengsak, tiah laa a sak.
He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his offspring, forever more.”
