1 Tahmaa Elisha mah tahmaanawk thung ih kami maeto kawk moe, anih khaeah, Kazii angzaeng ah, hae ih situi tabu hae sin ah loe, Ramoth Gilead ah caeh ah, tiah a naa.
And Elisha the prophet has called to one of the sons of the prophets and says to him, “Gird up your loins, and take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-Gilead,
2 Na phak naah, Nimshi capa Jehosaphat, Jehosaphat capa Jehu to pakrong ah; anih khae caeh ah, angmah ih nawkamyanawk salak hoiah anih to pathawk loe, imkhaan thungah caeh haih ah.
and you have gone in there, and see Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, there, and you have gone in, and caused him to rise out of the midst of his brothers, and brought him into the inner part of an inner-chamber,
3 To pacoengah situi tabu to lah loe, a lu ah bawh pacoengah, Angraeng mah, Israel siangpahrang ah oh hanah situi kang bawh, tiah thui ah, to pacoengah thok to paongh loe anghak ai ah cawn ah, tiah a naa.
and taken the vial of oil, and poured [it] on his head, and said, Thus said YHWH: I have anointed you for king to Israel; and you have opened the door, and fled, and do not wait.”
4 To pongah tahmaa ih kami thendoeng loe Ramoth-Gilead ah caeh.
And the young man goes—the young man the prophet—to Ramoth-Gilead,
5 To ahmuen to a phak naah, nawnto anghnu misatuh angraengnawk to a hnuk; Aw misatuh angraeng, misatuh angraeng, nang khaeah thuih han koi hmuen ka tawnh, tiah a naa. To naah Jehu mah, kaicae thungah mi khaeah maw lokthuih han na tawnh? tiah a naa. To naah anih mah, Aw misatuh angraeng, nang khaeah lokthuih han ka tawnh, tiah a naa.
and comes in, and behold, chiefs of the force are sitting, and he says, “I have a word for you, O chief!” And Jehu says, “To which of all of us?” And he says, “To you, O chief.”
6 Anih loe angthawk moe, imthung ah caeh; tahmaa mah Jehu ih lu ah situi to bawh moe, anih khaeah, Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah, Angraeng ih Israel kaminawk nuiah siangpahrang ah oh hanah situi kang bawh boeh, tiah thuih.
And he rises and comes into the house, and he pours the oil on his head, and says to him, “Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: I have anointed you for king to the people of YHWH, to Israel,
7 Ka tamna tahmaanawk humhaih, Sithaw ih tahmaanawk athii palonghaih atho Jezebel khaeah lu ka lak thai hanah, na angraeng Ahab ih imthung takoh to na hum tih.
and you have struck the house of your lord Ahab, and I have required the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of YHWH, from the hand of Jezebel;
8 Ahab ih imthung takoh amrosak boih hanah, Israel prae thungah misong ah kaom kami maw, kaloih kami maw, Ahab ih acaeng nongpanawk to ka tamit boih han boeh;
and all the house of Ahab has perished, and I have cut off from Ahab those sitting on the wall, and restrained, and left, in Israel,
9 Nebat capa Jeroboam imthung takoh baktih toengah, Ahab imthung takoh to ka sak han;
and I have given up the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and as the house of Baasha son of Ahijah,
10 Jezebel aphum kami om mak ai, anih loe Jezreel ahmuen ah uinawk mah caa o tih, tiah thuih ih lok to thuih pacoengah, thok paongh moe, a cawnh.
and dogs eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there is none burying”; and he opens the door and flees.
11 To pacoengah Jehu loe angmah angraeng ih tamnanawk khaeah caeh, kami maeto mah anih khaeah, Tamthang hoih hmang maw? To kami kamthu loe nang khaeah timaw sak? tiah lokdueng. Jehu mah nihcae khaeah, To kami loe na panoek o moe, a thuih ih lok doeh na panoek o boeh to loe, tiah a naa.
And Jehu has gone out to the servants of his lord, and [one] says to him, “Is there peace? Why did this madman come to you?” And he says to them, “You have known the man and his talk.”
12 Nihcae mah, Ka panoek o ai, na thui ah, tiah a naa o. Jehu mah, Anih mah, Angraeng mah, Nang hae Israel siangpahrang ah situi kang bawh, tiah thuih, tiah ang naa, tiah a thuih pae.
And they say, “False! Declare to us now”; and he says, “He spoke thus and thus to me, saying, Thus said YHWH: I have anointed you for king to Israel.”
13 To pacoengah nihcae loe karangah angthawk o moe, angmacae ih khukbuen to lak o; Jehu tlim ih thlak nuiah baih pae o moe, Jehu loe siangpahrang ni! tiah mongkah ueng hoiah a hang o.
And they hurry—each [one]—and take his garment, and put [it] under him at the top of the stairs, and blow with a horn, and say, “Jehu has reigned!”
14 To pongah Nimshi capa Jehosaphat, Jehosaphat ih capa Jehu mah Joram nuiah kasae sak hanah pacaeng. Syria siangpahrang Hazael pongah, Joram hoi Israel kaminawk loe, Gilead prae ih Ramoth vangpui to toep o.
And Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspires against Joram. And Joram was keeping in Ramoth-Gilead, he and all Israel, from the presence of Hazael king of Aram,
15 Toe Syria siangpahrang Hazael hoi misa angtuk naah, Syria kaminawk mah Joram to ahmaa caak o sak pongah, anih loe ahmaa khetzawn hanah Jezreel ah amlaem let. Jehu mah, Siangpahrang ah ka oh hanah hae tiah poekhaih na tawnh o nahaeloe, tamthang thui kami maeto doeh vangpui thung hoi tacawt o sak hmah, Jezreel vangpui ah caeh o ueloe, tamthang to thui o moeng tih, tiah a naa.
and King Joram turns back to be healed in Jezreel, of the wounds with which the Arameans strike him in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram. And Jehu says, “If it is your mind, do not let an escaped one go out from the city, to go to declare [it] in Jezreel.”
16 To pacoengah Jehu loe angmah ih hrang lakok pongah angthueng moe, Jezreel ah caeh; Joram loe to vangpui ah oh pongah, Judah siangpahrang Ahaziah loe anih pahip hanah, to vangpui ah caeh tathuk.
And Jehu rides, and goes to Jezreel, for Joram is lying there, and Ahaziah king of Judah has gone down to see Joram.
17 Kangzo Jehu hoi anih ih misatuh kaminawk to, Jezreel vangpui ih misatoep kami hnuk o naah, paroeai pop misatuh kaminawk angzoh o, tiah hangh. To naah Joram mah, Nihcae to tongh moe, monghaih hoiah maw nang zoh o? tiah lokdueng hanah hrang angthueng kami maeto patoeh ah, tiah a naa.
And the watchman is standing on the tower in Jezreel, and sees the company of Jehu in his coming, and says, “I see a company”; and Joram says, “Take a rider and send [him] to meet them, and let him say, Is there peace?”
18 To pongah hrang angthueng kami maeto loe anih tongh hanah caeh, siangpahrang mah, Monghaih oh hmang maw? tiah lok ang duengsak, tiah a thuih a naa. Jehu mah, Monghaih oh hmang maw, tiah thuih hanah nang hoi timaw asaenghaih oh? Angqoi ah loe ka hnukah na bangah, tiah a naa. Misatoep kami mah, Tamthang thui laicaeh loe nihcae khaeah caeh, toe anih loe amlaem let ai boeh, tiah a naa.
And the rider on the horse goes to meet him and says, “Thus said the king: Is there peace?” And Jehu says, “And what is peace to you? Turn around behind me.” And the watchman declares, saying, “The messenger came to them, and he has not returned.”
19 To pacoengah siangpahrang mah vai hnetto haih hrang angthueng kami to patoeh let; nihcae khaeah a phak naah, siangpahrang mah, Misa monghaih oh hmang maw? tiah a thuih, tiah a naa. Jehu mah, Monghaih oh hmang maw, tiah thuih hanah nang hoi asaenghaih timaw oh? Angqoi ah loe ka hnukah na bangah, tiah a naa.
And he sends a second rider on a horse, and he comes to them and says, “Thus said the king: Is there peace?” And Jehu says, “And what is peace to you? Turn around behind me.”
20 Misatoep kami mah, Tamthang thui kami loe nihcae khaeah caeh, toe anih loe amlaem let ai boeh; hrang lakok mongh kami loe Nimshi capa Jehu hoiah anghmongh, anih loe kamthu baktiah a mongh, tiah a naa.
And the watchman declares, saying, “He came to them, and he has not returned, and the driving [is] like the driving of Jehu son of Nimshi, for he drives with madness.”
21 Joram mah kaimah ih hrang lakok to suem o coek ah, tiah lokpaek; to pongah anih ih hrang lakok to suek pae o coek. Israel siangpahrang Joram hoi Judah siangpahrang Ahaziah loe angma hnik ih hrang lakok to angthueng hoi moe, tasa bangah a caeh hoi; nihnik loe Jehu hnuk hanah a caeh hoi moe, anih to Jezreel acaeng Naboth ih lawk ahmuen ah a hnuk hoi.
And Jehoram says, “Harness”; and his chariot is harnessed, and Jehoram king of Israel goes out, and Ahaziah king of Judah, each in his chariot, and they go out to meet Jehu, and find him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
22 Joram mah Jehu to hnuk naah, Jehu, Monghaih oh hmang maw? tiah a naa. Jehu mah, Nam no Jezebel mah sak ih tangzat zawhhaih hoi paroeai pop miklet patohhaih thung hoiah kawbangmaw monghaih om thai tih? tiah a naa.
And it comes to pass, at Jehoram’s seeing Jehu, that he says, “Is there peace, Jehu?” And he says, “What [is] the peace, while the whoredoms of your mother Jezebel, and her witchcrafts, are many?”
23 Joram mah Ahaziah khaeah, Aw Ahaziah qumqaihaih oh, tiah thuih pacoengah, a ban angqoi moe, a cawnh ving.
And Jehoram turns his hands and flees, and says to Ahaziah, “Deceit, O Ahaziah!”
24 Jehu mah tha hoiah palaa to azuh moe, Joram to palaeng salakah kah, palaa mah palung to kah puet pongah, hrang lakok nui hoiah sangku tathuk hmawk.
And Jehu has filled his hand with a bow, and strikes Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow goes out from his heart, and he bows down in his chariot.
25 Jehu mah angmah ih misatuh angraeng Bidkar khaeah, Anih to ruet ah loe Jezreel kami Naboth ih lawk ah va sut ah, tiah a naa. Joram ampa Ahab hnukah hrang angthueng moe, a bang hoi naah, anih hanah Angraeng mah thuih ih lok to panoek ah;
And [Jehu] says to his captain Bidkar, “Lift up, cast him into the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite—for remember, you and I were riding together after his father Ahab, and YHWH lifted this burden on him:
26 Angraeng mah, Cangduem ah Naboth hoi a caanawk ih athii to ka hnuk, tiah thuih; Angraeng mah hae ih lawk hmuen ah lu la let tih, tiah thuih. To pongah Angraeng mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, vaihi anih ih qok to lah loe, hae ih lawk ahmuen ah va sut ah, tiah a naa.
Have I not seen the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons last night—a declaration of YHWH—indeed, I have repaid to you in this portion—a declaration of YHWH—and now, lift up, cast him into the portion, according to the word of YHWH.”
27 Toe Judah siangpahrang Ahaziah mah to tiah kaom hmuen to hnuk naah, takha loklam bang hoiah cawnh ving; Jehu mah anih to patom, anih doeh hrang lakok nuiah hum oh, tiah a naa. Ibleam taeng ih, Gur vangpui bang caehhaih loklam ah anih to ahmaa caak o sak; toe anih loe Meggiddo bangah cawnh moe, to ah duek.
And Ahaziah king of Judah has seen, and flees the way of the garden-house, and Jehu pursues after him, and says, “Strike him—also him—in the chariot,” in the going up to Gur, that [is] Ibleam, and he flees to Megiddo, and dies there,
28 A tamnanawk mah anih to hrang lakok hoiah Jerusalem ah caeh o haih moe, David vangpui angmah ih taprong ah aphum o.
and his servants carry him to Jerusalem in a chariot, and bury him in his burying-place with his fathers in the City of David.
29 Ahab capa Joram siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hatlaito haih naah, Ahaziah loe Judah siangpahrang ah oh.
And in the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab, Ahaziah reigned over Judah.
30 Jehu loe Jezereel ah caeh ti, tiah Jezebel mah thaih; anih loe amthoephaih tasi hoiah a mik to pathoep het, sam to kahoih ah a sok suidik pacoengah, thokbuem hoiah tasa bangah a danh.
And Jehu comes to Jezreel, and Jezebel has heard, and puts her eyes in paint and beautifies her head, and looks out through the window.
31 Jehu khongkha thungah akun naah, Jezebel mah, Angmah ih angraeng humkung, Zimri loe, ngantui hmang maw? tiah a naa.
And Jehu has come into the gate, and she says, “Was there peace [for] Zimri—slayer of his lord?”
32 Jehu loe thokbuem bangah khet tahang moe, Kai bangah kaom kami to ah oh maw? Mi maw kaom? tiah a hangh. To naah tangyat mii kadueh kami hnetto maw, to tih ai boeh loe thumto mah maw anih to khet o.
And he lifts up his face to the window and says, “Who [is] with me? Who?” And two [or] three eunuchs look out to him;
33 Jehu mah, To nongpata to na va o tathuk ah, tiah a naa. To pongah nihcae mah to nongpata to vah o tathuk. Anih ih athii loe sipae hoi hrang nuiah tacawn; Jehu mah to nongpata to long ah khok hoiah atit.
and he says, “Let her go”; and they let her go, and [some] of her blood is sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses, and he treads her down.
34 Jehu loe athung ah akun, anih mah naekcaak pacoengah, vaihi caeh oh loe, tangoeng ih nongpata to khen oh; anih loe siangpahrang canu ah oh pongah, aphum oh, tiah a naa.
And he comes in, and eats, and drinks, and says, “Now look after this cursed one and bury her, for she [is] a king’s daughter.”
35 Nihcae mah nongpata ih qok aphum hanah caeh o naah, anih ih luhuh, a khok hoi a banpadae khue ni a hnuk o.
And they go to bury her, and have not found [anything] of her except the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.
36 To pongah nihcae loe amlaem o let moe, Jehu khaeah thuih pae o. To naah Jehu mah, Jezereel kami ih lawk hmuen ah uinawk mah Jezebel ih qok to caa tih, tiah Angraeng mah a tamna Tishbeh acaeng Elijah khaeah thuih ih lok to akoep boeh:
And they turn back, and declare [it] to him, and he says, “It [is] the word of YHWH that He spoke by the hand of this servant, Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel the dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel,
37 to pongah, Hae loe Jezebel ih taprong ni, tiah mi mah doeh thui o mak ai; anih ih qok loe Jezreel kami ih lawkhmuen azawn ah aek baktih ni om sut tih, tiah a naa.
and the carcass of Jezebel has been as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, that they do not say, This [is] Jezebel.”
