< 2 Siangpahrang 7 >

1 Elisha mah, Angraeng ih lok hae tahngai oh. Angraeng mah, Khawnbang hae atue ah, Samaria khongkha taengah, takaw dip kahoih tahhaih maeto naah Shekel maeto hoi zaw o ueloe, barli cang tahhaih maeto naah Shekel hnetto hoiah zaw o tih, tiah thuih, tiah a naa.
Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time [shall] a measure of fine flour [be sold] for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
2 Siangpahrang mah oep ih angraeng maeto mah, Sithaw kami khaeah, Khenah, Angraeng mah van ih thoknawk to paong cadoeh, hae hmuen hae angcoeng thai tih maw? tiah a naa. Elisha mah, To hmuen to na mik hoi roe na hnu tih, toe na caa mak ai, tiah a naa.
Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, [if] the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see [it] with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
3 Vangpui akunhaih khongkha taengah, ngansae man kami palito oh o; to naah angmacae hoi angmacae tipongah duek khoek to hae ah anghnut han oh? tiah a thuih o.
And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
4 Aicae mah, Vangpui thungah caeh o si, tiah a thuih o nahaeloe, vangpui thungah khokhahaih to oh pongah a dueh o tih; hae ah anghnut o khing cadoeh a dueh o tih. To pongah angzo oh, Syria kaminawk ohhaih ahmuen ah caeh o si loe, takpum angpaek o halat si: nihcae mah na pathlung o nahaeloe, a hing o ueloe, na hum o boeh loe, a dueh o tih, tiah a thuih o.
If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine [is] in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
5 Nihcae loe khodai ai naah angthawk o moe, Syria kaminawk ataihaih ahmuen ah caeh o; Syria kaminawk iihhaih im um ah phak o naah loe, khenah, to ah kami maeto doeh om ai.
And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, [there was] no man there.
6 Angraeng mah Syria kaminawk ih hrang tuen, hrangleeng atuen, paroeai misatuh kaminawk ih atuen to thaisak; to pongah nihcae mah khen oh, Israel siangpahrang loe aicae tuk hanah, Hit hoi Izip siangpahrangnawk to tlai boeh, tiah maeto hoi maeto a thuih o.
For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, [even] the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
7 To pongah nihcae loe khawnthaw ah angthawk o moe, angmacae ih buk, hrangnawk hoi laa hrangnawk to cawnh o taak; ataihaih im doeh suek o sut moe, hinghaih loih thai hanah a cawnh o.
Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it [was], and fled for their life.
8 Ngansae man kaminawk loe ataihaih im taeng to phak o moe, iihhaih im maeto thungah akun o; a caak o, a naek o moe, sui hoi phoisanawk, khukbuennawk to lak o pacoengah, hawk o; nihcae loe amlaem o let moe, kalah maeto imthung ah doeh akun o, hmuenmaenawk to lak o moe, hawk o let bae.
And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid [it; ] and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence [also], and went and hid [it].
9 To pacoengah maeto hoi maeto, a sak o ih hmuen hae amsoem ai; vaihni loe tamthanglok kahoih thuihaih niah oh, toe aicae loe thui ai ah a oh o duem; thui ai ah khodai khoek to a oh o nahaeloe, aicae nuiah sethaih om moeng tih; to pongah caeh o si loe, siangpahrang imthung takohnawk khaeah thui pae si, tiah a thuih o.
Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day [is] a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.
10 To pongah caeh o moe, vangpui khongkha toep kami to kawk o, nihcae khaeah, Syria kaminawk ataihaih im ah ka caeh o naah, khenah, kami maeto doeh om o ai boeh; kami lok doeh om ai; toe hrang hoi laa hrangnawk ih lok khue to oh; ataihaih imnawk doeh caeh o taak, tiah a thuih pae o.
So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, [there was] no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they [were].
11 Sipae toep kaminawk loe angkawk o moe, to tamthang to siangpahrang imthung ah thuih o.
And he called the porters; and they told [it] to the king’s house within.
12 Siangpahrang loe khodai ai naah angthawk moe, a tamnanawk khaeah, Syria kaminawk mah aicae nuiah sak ih hmuen to kang thuih o han. Aicae loe zok amthlam boeh, tiah nihcae mah panoek o; nihcae mah, aicae vangpui thung hoi tasa bang tacawt naah kahing ah naeh si loe, vangpui thungah akun si, tiah a poek o pongah, nihcae loe taw thungah anghawk hanah angmacae ataihaih ahmuen hoiah tacawt o boeh, tiah a naa.
And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we [be] hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.
13 A tamna maeto mah, Thoemto kaminawk mah vangpui thungah kanghnat hrang pangato la o nasoe; khenah, to kaminawk doeh to ah kaom paroeai Israel kaminawk baktiah ni dueh o tih; to kaminawk to patoeh si loe, khen noek si, tiah pathim pae.
And one of his servants answered and said, Let [some] take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they [are] as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, [I say], they [are] even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed: ) and let us send and see.
14 To pongah nihcae mah hrang lakok hnetto lak o moe, Syria misatuh kaminawk ohhaih ahmuen ah patoeh o; hrang lakok mongh kaminawk khaeah, Caeh oh loe, hmuen ohhaih dan to khen oh, tiah a naa.
They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.
15 To kaminawk mah nihcae to Jordan vapui karoek to patom o, khenah, Syria kaminawk loe tawthaih hoiah cawnh o pongah, loklam loe nihcae mah vah o sut ih khukbuen hoi hmuenmaenawk hoiah koi. To pongah patoeh ih kaminawk loe amlaem o let moe, siangpahrang khaeah thuih pae o.
And they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way [was] full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.
16 Kaminawk loe caeh o moe, Syrianawk ataihaih im to muk pae o. To pongah angraeng mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, takaw dip tangsum maeto naah Shekel maeto hoiah zawh o.
And the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was [sold] for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.
17 Siangpahrang mah oep ih angraeng to siangpahrang khongkha toepkung ah suek; toe siangpahrang anih khaeah caeh naah, Sithaw kami mah thuicoek ih lok baktih toengah, khongkha toepkung loe kaminawk mah khongkha taengah atit o moe, duek.
And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came down to him.
18 Sithaw kami mah siangpahrang khaeah, Khawnbang hae atue phak naah, takaw dip kahoih tahhaih maeto naah shekel maeto hoiah zaw o ueloe, Samaria vangpui khongkha ah barli cang tahhaih hnetto naah shekel maeto hoiah zaw o tih, tiah thuih ih lok baktih toengah oh phaek.
And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:
19 To naah khongkha toepkung angraeng mah Sithaw kami khaeah, Khenah, Angraeng mah vaihi van ih thok to paong cadoeh, to hmuen to om thai tih maw? tiah thuih. Sithaw kami mah anih khaeah, Khenah, Na mik hoi roe na hnu tih, toe na caa mak ai, tiah a naa.
And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, [if] the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
20 To tiah thuih ih lok baktih toengah to angraeng khaeah phak, kaminawk mah anih to khongkha ah atit o pongah, anih loe duek.
And so it fell out unto him: for the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died.
