< 2 Siangpahrang 3 >

1 Judah siangpahrang Jehosaphat siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hatlaitazetto naah, Ahab capa Jehoram loe Samaria ah Israel siangpahrang ah oh. Anih mah Samaria to saning hatlaihnetto uk.
And Jehoram the son of Achab became king over Israel in Samaria in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, and he reigned twelve years.
2 Anih loe Angraeng mikhnukah kahoih ai hmuen to sak; anih loe ampa hoi amno mah sak ih kasae hmuen to sah ai; anih loe ampa mah sak ih Baal krang to phraek king.
And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord; but not like his father, and like his mother; and he removed the statue of Ba'al which his father had made.
3 Toe Israel kaminawk zaehaih sahsak, Nebat capa Jeroboam mah sak ih zaehaih to caehtaak ai ah, a sak toeng.
Nevertheless unto the sins of Jerobo'am the son of Nebat, who had induced Israel to sin, did he cleave: he departed not therefrom.
4 Moab siangpahrang Mesha loe tuu pacah kami ah oh, anih mah Israel siangpahrang hanah tuucaa sang cumvaito, tuumui hoi tuutae sang cumvaito paek poe han oh.
And Mesha' the king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered as tribute unto the king of Israel a hundred thousand lambs, and a hundred thousand rams, with the wool.
5 Toe Ahab duek pacoengah loe, Moab siangpahrang mah Israel siangpahrang to misa angthawk thuih.
And it came to pass, when Achab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.
6 To nathuem ah Jehoram siangpahrang loe Samaria hoiah caeh moe, Israel kaminawk to kroek.
And king Jehoram went out of Samaria at that time, and numbered all Israel.
7 Judah siangpahrang Jehosaphat khaeah kami to patoeh moe, Moab siangpahrang mah kai misa angthawk thuih boeh; Moab tuk hanah nang bomh han maw? tiah a naa. Anih mah, Kang bomh han, Kai doeh nang baktiah ka oh moe, kai ih kaminawk doeh nang ih kami, kai ih hrangnawk doeh, nang ih hrang baktiah ni oh, tiah a naa.
And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up, I as thyself, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.
8 Anih mah, na bang ih loklam hoiah maw a caeh o tahang han? tiah a naa. Jehoram mah Edom praezaek bang hoiah caeh si, tiah a naa.
And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he said, The way through the wilderness of Edom.
9 To pongah Israel siangpahrang, Judah siangpahrang hoi Edom siangpahrangnawk loe nawnto caeh o; ni sarihto caeh o pacoeng loe, misatuh kaminawk hoi a hoih o ih moinawk naek hanah tui to tawn o ai boeh.
So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they took a circuitous route, a seven days' journey; and there was no water for the camp, and for the cattle that followed in their train.
10 To naah Israel siangpahrang mah, Alas! Angraeng mah hae siangpahrang thumtonawk hae, Moab kaminawk ban ah paek boeh mue! tiah thuih.
And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the Lord hath called these three kings, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!
11 Toe Jehosaphat mah, Angraeng khaeah lokdueng hanah, hae ah Angraeng ih tahmaa maeto doeh om ai maw? tiah a naa. To naah Israel siangpahrang ih tamna maeto mah, Elijah ban amsaeh han tui bawhkung, Shaphat capa Elisha hae ah oh, tiah a naa.
But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may inquire of the Lord from him? And there answered one of the king of Israel's servants and said, Here is Elisha' the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.
12 Jehosaphat mah, Angraeng ih lok loe anih khaeah oh, tiah thuih pae. To pongah Israel siangpahrang, Jehosaphat hoi Edom siangpahrang to anih khaeah caeh o tathuk.
And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the Lord is with him. And there went down to him the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom.
13 Elisha mah Israel siangpahrang khaeah, Nang hoi timaw asaenghaih oh, nampa ih tahmaa hoi namno ih tahmaanawk khaeah caeh khae, tiah a naa. Israel siangpahrang mah, To tih na ai ni, hae siangpahrang thumtonawk loe Moab kaminawk ban ah paek hanah Angraeng mah nawnto pakhueng boeh, tiah a naa.
And Elisha' said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? go to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Not so; for the Lord hath called these three kings, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.
14 Elisha mah, Tok ka sak pae ih, Misatuh Angraeng loe hing pongah, Judah siangpahrang Jehosaphat ih mikhmai ka khen ai nahaeloe, nang hae hnuk hanah ka koeh ai, khet mataeng doeh kang khen mak ai.
And Elisha' said, As the Lord of hosts liveth, before whom I have stood, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.
15 Toe katoeng kruek kop kami maeto angzo o haih ah, tiah a naa. Katoeng kruek kop kami mah katoeng to kruek naah, Elisha nuiah Angraeng ih ban to oh.
But now bring me a musician. And it came to pass, when the musician played, that the inspiration of the Lord came upon him.
16 Angraeng mah, Hae vacong hae tui ka koisak han, tiah thuih.
And he said, Thus hath said the Lord, Make this valley full of ditches.
17 Angraeng mah, Takhi hoi khotui to na hnu o mak ai; toe to ih vacongnawk loe tui hoiah koi o boih tih; nangmah hoi nangmah ih moinawk mah naek o pacoengah, kalah taw ih moinawk boih mah doeh nae o tih, tiah thuih.
For thus hath said the Lord, Ye shall not perceive wind, nor shall ye see rain; yet this valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, yourselves, and your flocks, and your cattle.
18 Hae hmuen loe Angraeng mikhnukah zoidaek hmuen ah ni oh; Moab kaminawk doeh nangcae ban ah na paek tih.
And this is yet too light a thing in the eyes of the Lord; and he will also deliver the Moabites into your hand.
19 Sipae hoi thungh ih vangpuinawk hoi kahoih koek vangpuinawk to phrae o boih ah; kahoih thingnawk to pakhruh o boih ah loe, tuikhawnawk to taet o boih ah; kahoih longnawk doeh thlung hoiah aphum oh loe, paro o boih ah, tiah a naa.
And ye shall smite every fortified city, and every choice city, and every good tree shall ye fell, and all springs of water shall ye stop, and every good piece of land shall ye spoil with stones.
20 Khawnbang cang hoi angbawnhaih atue phak naah loe, khenah, Edom bang hoiah tui to long, prae loe tui hoiah koi.
And it came to pass in the morning, at the time when the meat-offering is offered, that, behold, there came water by the way from Edom, and the country was filled with the water.
21 Moab kaminawk boih mah nihcae tuk hanah siangpahrang thumto angzoh o boeh, tiah thaih o naah, nihcae loe nawkta mitong tih ai, maiphaw sin thaih kaminawk boih to kawk moe, ramri ah angangsak.
And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they were called together from every one who was girded with a sword, and upward, and they posted themselves on the border.
22 Khawnbang khawnthaw angthawk o naah, ni aengh mah tui to kah, to naah Moab kaminawk mah ho bang yaeh hoiah, athii baktiah kathim tui to a hnuk o.
And when they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, the Moabites saw the water at a distance as red as blood.
23 To naah nihcae mah, Hae loe athii boeh ni! Siangpahrangnawk loe angmacae hoi angmacae anghum o boeh; to pongah Moab kaminawk, vaihi nihcae ih hmuenmae to la o si, tiah thuih o.
And they said, This is blood; the kings have certainly had a contest among themselves, and they have smitten one another: and now, up to the spoil, Moab.
24 Israel kaminawk ataihaih ahmuen ah Moab kaminawk angzoh o naah, Israelnawk mah angang o moe, Moab kaminawk to takroek o; nihcae loe Israelnawk hmaa ah cawnh o; Israelnawk mah nihcae to Moab prae karoek to patom o moe, hum o.
But when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them; and they smote the Moabites completely, even in their own country.
25 Vangpui boih phraek pae o, lawk kahoih ahmuennawk boih to thlung koi mongah vah pae o; tuikhawnawk to patet pae o moe, kahoih thingnawk to pakruk pae o king; Kir-Haraseth vangpui ih sipae thlungnawk khue ni caeh o taak, toe ngazai sin kaminawk mah to vangpui to takui o moe, tuk o.
And the cities they pulled down, and into every good piece of land they cast every man his stone, and filled it up, and every spring of water they stopped, and every good tree they felled, until they left only its stones in Kir-chareseth, and this the slingers encompassed and smote it.
26 Moab siangpahrang mah, misa mah pazawk tih boeh, tiah panoek naah, Edom siangpahrang ataihaih ahmuen hoiah misatuk hanah, sumsen sin kami cumvai sarihtonawk to caeh haih, toe anih mah pazawk thai ai.
And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too strong for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew the sword, to break through unto the king of Edom; but they could not.
27 To pacoengah angmah zuengah siangpahrang ah kaom han koi calu to lak moe, vangpui sipae nuiah angbawnhaih to a sak; to tiah sakhaih to Israelnawk hanah paroeai panuet thok hmuen ah poek o pongah, angqoi o moe, angmacae prae ah amlaem o taak.
Then took he his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt-offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their land.
