And it cometh to pass, at Jehovah's taking up Elijah in a whirlwind to the heavens, that Elijah goeth, and Elisha, from Gilgal,
2 Elijah mah Elisha khaeah, Angraeng mah Bethel ah ang patoeh pongah, Nang loe hae ah om ah, tiah a naa. Toe Elisha mah, Angraeng loe hing moe, nang na hing pongah, nang hae kang caehtaak mak ai, tiah a naa. To pongah nihnik loe Bethel ah nawnto caeh hoi tathuk.
and Elijah saith unto Elisha, 'Abide, I pray thee, here, for Jehovah hath sent me unto Beth-El;' and Elisha saith, 'Jehovah liveth, and thy soul liveth, if I leave thee;' and they go down to Beth-El.
3 Bethel vangpui ah kaom tahmaa ih caanawk mah Elisha khaeah caeh o moe, anih khaeah, Vaihniah Angraeng mah nang khae hoiah na angraeng to la ving tih boeh, tito na panoek maw? tiah a naa o. Elisha mah, Ue, ka panoek; toe kamongah om oh, tiah a naa.
And sons of the prophets who [are] in Beth-El come out unto Elisha, and say unto him, 'Hast thou known that to-day Jehovah is taking thy lord from thy head?' and he saith, 'I also have known — keep silent.'
4 Elijah mah anih khaeah, Angraeng mah Jeriko vangpui ah ang patoeh pongah, nang loe hae ah om ah, tiah a naa. To naah anih mah, Angraeng loe hing moe, nang doeh na hing pongah, nang hae kang caehtaak mak ai, tiah a naa. To pongah nihnik loe Jeriko vangpui ah nawnto caeh hoi.
And Elijah saith to him, 'Elisha, abide, I pray thee, here, for Jehovah hath sent me to Jericho;' and he saith, 'Jehovah liveth, and thy soul liveth, if I leave thee;' and they come in to Jericho.
5 Jeriko vangpui ah kaom tahmaa ih caanawk loe Elisha khaeah caeh o moe, Vaihniah nang khae hoiah Angraeng mah na angraeng to la ving tih boeh, tito na panoek maw? tiah a naa o. Anih mah, Ue, ka panoek; toe kamongah om oh, tiah a naa.
And sons of the prophets who [are] in Jericho come nigh unto Elisha, and say unto him, 'Hast thou known that to-day Jehovah is taking thy lord from thy head?' and he saith, 'I also have known — keep silent.'
6 Elijah mah anih khaeah, Angraeng mah Jordan ah ang patoeh pongah, nang loe hae ah om ah, tiah a naa. Anih mah tahmaa khaeah, Angraeng loe hing moe, nang doeh na hing pongah, nang hae kang caehtaak mak ai, tiah a naa. Nihnik loe nawnto caeh hoi.
And Elijah saith to him, 'Abide, I pray thee, here, for Jehovah hath sent me to the Jordan;' and he saith, 'Jehovah liveth, and thy soul liveth, if I leave thee;' and they go on both of them,
7 Tahmaa ih caa quipangatonawk loe caeh o moe, kangthla hoiah khet hanah angdoet o; Elijah hoi Elisha loe Jordan vapui taengah angdoet hoi.
— and fifty men of the sons of the prophets have gone on, and stand over-against afar off — and both of them have stood by the Jordan.
8 Elijah mah kahni to lak moe, zaeng pacoengah, tui to a boh; to naah tui to banqoi bantang amkhoih; to pacoengah nihnik loe saoeng ah caeh baktiah caeh hoi.
And Elijah taketh his robe, and wrappeth [it] together, and smiteth the waters, and they are halved, hither and thither, and they pass over both of them on dry land.
9 Tui angkaat hoi pacoengah Elijah mah Elisha khaeah, Angraeng mah nang khae hoi kai na la ving ai naah, timaw kang sak pae han, tiah a dueng. To naah Elisha mah, na pakhra alet hnetto ka nuiah om nasoe, tiah a naa.
And it cometh to pass, at their passing over, that Elijah hath said unto Elisha, 'Ask, what do I do for thee before I am taken from thee?' and Elisha saith, 'Then let there be, I pray thee, a double portion of thy spirit unto me;'
10 Elijah mah, Nang loe karai parai hmuen ni nang hnik; toe nang khae hoi kai lak nathuem ah kai nang hnuk nahaeloe, na hak tih; nang hnuh ai nahaeloe na hak mak ai, tiah a naa.
and he saith, 'Thou hast asked a hard thing; if thou dost see me taken from thee, it is to thee so; and if not, it is not.'
11 Nihnik loe caeh hoi moe, lok apaeh hoi li naah, khenah, hmai hrang lakok hoi hmai hrang to poek ai pui hoiah amtueng moe, nihnik to tapraek ving; Elijah loe takhi kamhae hoiah van ah caeh tahang.
And it cometh to pass, they are going, going on and speaking, and lo, a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and they separate between them both, and Elijah goeth up in a whirlwind, to the heavens.
12 Elisha mah hnuk naah, Kampa, kampa, Israelnawk ih hrang lakok hoi hrang angthueng kaminawk, tiah a hangh. To pacoeng hoi loe Elijah to hnu let ai boeh; to naah angmah ih kahni to lak moe, hnetto ah asih.
And Elisha is seeing, and he is crying, 'My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and its horsemen;' and he hath not seen him again; and he taketh hold on his garments, and rendeth them into two pieces.
13 Elijah khae hoi kakrah kahni to anih mah lak moe, amlaem let pacoengah, Jordan vapui taengah angdoet;
And he taketh up the robe of Elijah, that fell from off him, and turneth back and standeth on the edge of the Jordan,
14 Elijah khae hoi kakrah kahni to anih mah lak moe, tui to a boh pacoengah, Elijah ih Angraeng Sithaw naa ah maw na oh? tiah thuih. Tui to a boh naah, banqoi bantang amkhoih, to pacoengah anih loe caeh.
and he taketh the robe of Elijah that fell from off him, and smiteth the waters, and saith, 'Where [is] Jehovah, God of Elijah — even He?' and he smiteth the waters, and they are halved, hither and thither, and Elisha passeth over.
15 Anih toepkung Jeriko vangpui ah kaom tahmaa caanawk mah anih to hnuk o naah, Elisha nuiah Elijah ih pakhra oh boeh, tiah thuih o. Nihcae loe anih to hnuk hanah caeh o moe, a hmaa ah long ah akuep o.
And they see him — the sons of the prophets who [are] in Jericho — over-against, and they say, 'Rested hath the spirit of Elijah on Elisha;' and they come to meet him, and bow themselves to him to the earth,
16 Nihcae mah Elisha khaeah, Khenah, na tamna kaicae loe thacak kami quipangato ka tawnh o; nihcae loe caeh o nasoe loe na angraeng to pakrong o nasoe; Angraeng ih Muithla mah anih to lak moe, mae nuiah maw, to tih ai boeh loe azawn ah maw suem khoe doeh om tih, tiah a naa o. Elisha mah, Patoeh o hmah, tiah a naa.
and say unto him, 'Lo, we pray thee, there are with thy servants fifty men, sons of valour: let them go, we pray thee, and they seek thy lord, lest the Spirit of Jehovah hath taken him up, and doth cast him on one of the hills, or into one of the valleys;' and he saith, 'Ye do not send.'

And they press upon him, till he is ashamed, and he saith, 'Send ye;' and they send fifty men, and they seek three days, and have not found him;
18 Nihcae Jeriko vangpui ah Elisha khaeah amlaem o let naah, anih mah nihcae khaeah, Caeh o hmah, tiah kang thuih o na ai maw, tiah a naa.
and they turn back unto him — and he is abiding in Jericho — and he saith unto them, 'Did I not say unto you, Do not go?'
19 Avang thung kaom kaminawk mah Elisha khaeah, Khenah, ka angraeng nang mah na hnuk baktih toengah, hae vangpui loe khosak hanah hoih parai; toe tui hoih ai pongah, long doeh hoih thai ai, tiah a naa o.
And the men of the city say unto Elisha, 'Lo, we pray thee, the site of the city [is] good, as my lord seeth, and the waters [are] bad, and the earth sterile.'
20 Anih mah, Boengloeng khangtha thungah paloi to thaeng oh loe, kai khaeah na sin oh, tiah a naa. To pongah nihcae mah anih hanah sinh pae o.
And he saith, 'Bring to me a new dish, and place there salt;' and they bring [it] unto him,
21 Anih loe vacong ohhaih bangah caeh moe, paloi to a haeh, to pacoengah loe Angraeng mah, Hae tui hae caak han ka hoisak boeh, vaihi hoi kamtong kami dueh mak ai ueloe, long doeh hoih ai ah om mak ai boeh, tiah a naa.
and he goeth out unto the source of the waters, and casteth there salt, and saith, 'Thus said Jehovah, I have given healing to these waters; there is not thence any more death and sterility.'
22 To pongah Elisha mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, vaihni ni khoek to tui to caak hanah hoih boeh.
And the waters are healed unto this day, according to the word of Elisha, that he spake.
23 Elisha loe to ahmuen hoi Bethel ah caeh tahang, loklam caeh li naah, thendoengnawk vangpui thung hoiah angzoh o moe, anih hanah, Lu angmuilum kami, caeh tahang ah, lu angmuilum kami, caeh tahang ah, tiah pahnui o thuih.
And he goeth up thence to Beth-El, and he is going up in the way, and little youths have come out from the city, and scoff at him, and say to him, 'Go up, bald-head! go up, bald-head!'
24 Anih loe hnukbangah angqoi moe, nihcae to khet pacoengah, Angraeng ih ahmin hoiah to kaminawk to tangoeng thuih; to naah taw ih taqom amno hnetto angzoh moe, thendoeng quipalito pacoeng, hnetto kaek boih.
And he looketh behind him, and seeth them, and declareth them vile in the name of Jehovah, and two bears come out of the forest, and rend of them forty and two lads.
25 Anih loe to ahmuen hoiah Karmel mae ah caeh tahang poe moe, to ahmuen hoiah Samaria vangpui ah amlaem let.
And he goeth thence unto the hill of Carmel, and thence he hath turned back to Samaria.
