< 2 Siangpahrang 19 >
1 To lok to Hezekiah siangpahrang mah thaih naah, a khukbuen to asih; buri kahni to angkhuk moe, Angraeng imthung ah a caeh.
And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard [it], that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
2 Siangpahrang im ukkung Eliakim, ca tarikkung Shebna hoi kacoehta qaimanawk to buri kahni angkhuksak moe, Amoz capa Isaiah khaeah patoeh.
And he sent Eliakim, which [was] over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
3 Nihcae mah Isaiah khaeah, Hezekiah mah, Vaihni loe raihaih, thuitaekhaih hoi kasae thuihaih niah oh boeh; nawkta zahhaih atue phak boeh, toe nawkta tapen hanah tha om ai boeh.
And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day [is] a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and [there is] not strength to bring forth.
4 Kahing Sithaw to kasae thuih hanah, Assyria siangpahrang mah patoeh ih RabShakeh mah thuih ih lok to na Angraeng Sithaw mah thaih boeh kalang mue; na Angraeng Sithaw mah thaih ih loknawk baktiah thuitaek nasoe, nang mah doeh kanghmat kaminawk hanah lawkthui paeh, tiah a thuih, tiah a naa o.
It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up [thy] prayer for the remnant that are left.
5 Hezekiah siangpahrang mah patoeh ih kaminawk loe Isaiah khaeah caeh o.
So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
6 Isaiah mah nihcae khaeah, Na angraeng khaeah hae tiah thui pae oh; Angraeng mah, Na thaih o ih to baktih lok to zii o hmah; Assyria siangpahrang mah patoeh ih kami loe kai kasae a thuih.
And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
7 Khenah, anih khaeah poekhaih kalah ka suek pae han, anih mah tamthang thaih naah, angmah prae ah amlaem ving tih; angmah prae ah anih to sumsen hoiah ka takroeksak han, tiah thuih, tiah thui pae oh, tiah a naa.
Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
8 RabShakeh mah Assyria siangpahrang loe Lakish vangpui to caehtaak boeh, tiah thaih naah amlaem let; to naah Assyria siangpahrang mah Libnah vangpui to tuk, tiah anih mah panoek.
So Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
9 Nang tuk hanah Ethiopia siangpahrang Tirhakah angzoh boeh, tiah Sennakerib mah thaih naah, Hezekiah khaeah laicaeh to patoeh moe, hae tiah lokpat pae.
And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,
10 Judah siangpahrang Hezekiah khaeah, Na oep ih Sithaw mah, Jerusalem vangpui loe Assyria siangpahrang ban ah ka paek mak ai, tiah thuih ih lok hoiah na ling o hmah nasoe.
Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11 Khenah, Assyria siangpahrang mah praenawk to phraek boih boeh, tiah na thaih o boeh; nang to pahlong tang tih maw?
Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?
12 Kam panawk mah phraek ih prae kaminawk, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph hoi Tel Assar vangpui ah kaom Eden acaengnawk to, nihcae ih sithawnawk mah pahlong vaih maw?
Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; [as] Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which [were] in Thelasar?
13 Hamath siangpahrang, Arpad siangpahrang, Sepharvaim siangpahrang, Hena hoi Ivvah siangpahrangnawk loe naa ah maw oh o boeh? tiah thui pae oh, tiah a naa.
Where [is] the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?
14 Hezekiah mah laicaehnawk taeng ih ca to hnuk naah a kroek; to pacoengah Angraeng ih im ah a caeh tahang moe, Angraeng hmaa ah ca to a khramh.
And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
15 Hezekiah mah Angraeng khaeah, Aw cherubim salakah kaom, Israel Angraeng, Sithaw, long prae boih ah kaom Sithaw loe, nang khue ni; nangmah ni long hoi van hae na sak.
And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest [between] the cherubims, thou art the God, [even] thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.
16 Angraeng, na naa to patuengh loe, tahngai ah; Angraeng, na mik to padaih loe, khenah; kahing Sithaw kasae thuih hanah, Sennakerib mah patoeh ih kami mah thuih ih lok to tahngai ah.
LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.
17 Angraeng, Assyria siangpahrangnawk mah praenawk hoi angmacae ih prae to paro o boih tangtang boeh.
Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,
18 Angmacae ih sithawnawk to hmai ah tik o; to sithawnawk loe Sithaw tangtang na ai ni; kami ban hoi sakcop ih thlung hoi thingnawk rumram ah ni oh o, to pongah nihcae mah paro o boeh.
And have cast their gods into the fire: for they [were] no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
19 To pongah vaihiah, Aw kaicae ih Angraeng Sithaw, anih ih ban thung hoiah kaicae hae pahlong ah, to tiah ni long ih praenawk boih mah, Angraeng, Sithaw loe, nang khue ni, tiah panoek o tih, tiah lawkthuih.
Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou [art] the LORD God, [even] thou only.
20 Amoz capa Isaiah mah Hezekiah khaeah, Israel Angraeng, Sithaw mah, Siangpahrang Sennakerib pongah kai khaeah lawk na thuih ih lok to ka thaih boeh, tiah thuih, tiah lokpaet pae.
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, [That] which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.
21 Anih kawng pongah Angraeng mah, Kacuem tangla Zion canu mah nang to patoek moe, ang pahnui thuih; Jerusalem canu mah lu ang haek thuih.
This [is] the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, [and] laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
22 Nang loe mi maw ka sae na thuih? Mi maw lok hoiah na hang thuih moe, mi maw amoekhaih mik na padai thuih? Ciimcai Israel Sithaw to to tiah na sak.
Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted [thy] voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? [even] against the Holy [One] of Israel.
23 Laicaehnawk pongah Angraeng kasae thuihaih to na tongh; nang mah, Pop parai hrang lakok hoiah maesom nui ah maw, kasang koek Lebanon mae nuiah maw ka dawh moe, kasang koek sidar thing hoi kahoih koek hmaica thing to ka pakhruk han; angthla koek ohhaih ahmuen, thingthai qumpo kahoih koek ohhaih tupui ahmuen doeh ka phak boeh.
By thy messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, [and] the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, [and into] the forest of his Carmel.
24 Minawk prae ah tui to ka takaeh moe, ka naek; ka khok hoiah Izip prae vacong ih tuinawk to ka kangsak boih boeh, tiah na thuih.
I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.
25 Kai mah to hmuen to canghniah kawbangmaw ka sak moe, ka ohsak, tiah na panoek ai maw? Vaihiah nangmah ih sipae thung ih vangpuinawk to nam rosak moe, thlung pakhuenghaih ahmuen ah omsakkung ah na oh hanah ka sak boeh.
Hast thou not heard long ago [how] I have done it, [and] of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities [into] ruinous heaps.
26 To pongah vangpui kaminawk loe thazok o; palungboeng o moe, dawnraihaih hoiah oh o; nihcae loe taw ih qam baktih, qam kahing baktih, imphu ih phroh baktih, qoeng tahang khuek ai naah kazaem kamtongkung baktiah ni oh o.
Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were [as] the grass of the field, and [as] the green herb, [as] the grass on the housetops, and [as corn] blasted before it be grown up.
27 Toe na ohhaih ahmuen, na tacawthaih hoi na kunhaih, ka nuiah palung na phuihaihnawk to ka panoek.
But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
29 Hae loe nang han angmathaih ah om tih; Hezekiah, nang loe angmah koehah amprawk thingthai to vaining saning thung na caa ueloe, amla ah loe, kamprawk patoeng hmuen to na caa tih; toe saning thumto haih naah loe, cang na tuh ueloe, na aat tih; misur takha to sah ah loe, athaih to caa ah.
And this [shall be] a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.
30 Kaloih Judah imthung takoh kaminawk loe, atlim bangah tangzuun to sah o ueloe, ranui bangah athaih to athai o tih.
And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
31 Kanghmat kaminawk loe Jerusalem vangpui thung hoiah angzo o tih, kaloih kaminawk loe Zion mae nui hoiah angzo o tih; misatuh Angraeng Sithaw loe thacak pongah, to hmuen to akoepsak tih.
For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD [ of hosts] shall do this.
32 To pongah Assyria siangpahrang kawng pongah Angraeng mah, Anih loe hae vangpui thungah akun mak ai, palaa maeto doeh kaat mak ai; aphawnawk hoi angzo mak ai ueloe, vangpui takuihaih loklam doeh takae mak ai.
Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.
33 Anih loe angmah angzohhaih loklam hoiah amlaem let tih; hae vangpui thungah akun mak ai, tiah Angraeng mah thuih boeh.
By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
34 Kaimah hoi ka tamna David pongah, hae vangpui hae ka pathlung moe, ka pahlong han, tiah a thuih.
For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
35 To na aqum ah Angraeng ih van kami to caeh moe, Assyria misatuh kami sang cumvai, sang quitazet, sang pangato a hum; khawnbang khawnthaw angthawkhaih tue phak naah loe, kami qok cing ah oh.
And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they [were] all dead corpses.
36 To pongah Assyria siangpahrang Sennakerib mah ataihaih ahmuen to caehtaak, im ah amlaem moe, Nineveh vangpui ah oh.
So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
37 Nito naah, tempul thung ah angmah ih sithaw Nisroch to a bok naah, a caa hnik Adramelek hoi Sharezer mah anih to sumsen hoiah takroek maat moe, Armenia prae ah cawnh hoi taak ving. To pacoengah anih zuengah a capa Esar-Haddon to siangpahrang ah oh.
And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esar-haddon his son reigned in his stead.
