1 Judah siangpahrang Ahaziah capa Joash siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning pumphae, thumto naah, Jehu capa Jehoahaz loe Samaria ah Israel siangpahrang ah oh; anih loe saning hatlaisarihto thung siangpahrang ah oh.
In the twenty and third year of Joash son of Ahaziah king of Judah, hath Jehoahaz son of Jehu reigned over Israel, in Samaria — seventeen years,
2 Anih loe Israel kaminawk zaehaih sahsak, Nebat capa Jeroboam ih loklam to pazui moe, Angraeng mikhnukah kahoih ai hmuen to a sak; to baktih zaehaih to caehtaak ai.
and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and goeth after the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he caused Israel to sin — he turned not aside from it,
3 Angraeng palungphuihaih loe Israel kaminawk nuiah hmai baktiah amngaeh; to pongah nihcae hing thung, Syria siangpahrang Hazael hoi anih ih capa Ben-Hadad ban ah paek.
and the anger of Jehovah burneth against Israel, and He giveth them into the hand of Hazael king of Aram, and into the hand of Ben-Hadad son of Hazael, all the days.
4 Syria siangpahrang mah Israel kaminawk paroeai pacaekthlaek boeh, tiah Anih mah panoek, to pongah Jehoahaz mah Angraeng koehhaih to pakrong naah, Angraeng mah anih ih lok to tahngaih pae.
And Jehoahaz appeaseth the face of Jehovah, and Jehovah hearkeneth unto him, for He hath seen the oppression of Israel, for oppressed them hath the king of Aram, —
5 Syria ukhaih ban thung hoi loih o thai hanah, Angraeng mah Israel caanawk pathlongkung to paek; Israel caanawk loe canghnii ih baktih toengah angmacae ih kahni imthung ah oh o.
and Jehovah giveth to Israel a saviour, and they go out from under the hand of Aram, and the sons of Israel dwell in their tents as heretofore;
6 Toe Israel kaminawk zaehaih sahsak, Jeroboam imthung takoh zaehaih to caeh o taak ai, zaehaih to a sak o toengtoeng moe, Asherah krangnawk doeh Samaria vangpui ah oh toengtoeng vop.
only, they have not turned aside from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, that he caused Israel to sin, therein they walked, and also, the shrine hath remained in Samaria, —
7 Jehoahaz loe hrang angthueng kami quipangato, hrang lakok hato, khok hoi misatuh kami sang hato khue ni tawnh boeh; Syria siangpahrang mah paro pae boih boeh; cang atit nathuem ih maiphu baktiah ni a suek sut boeh.
for he left not to Jehoahaz of the people except fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Aram hath destroyed them, and maketh them as dust for threshing.
8 Jehoahaz siangpahrang ah oh nathung kaom hmuennawk, a sak ih hmuennawk boih loe, Israel siangpahrangnawk ahmin pakuemhaih cabu thungah tarik o na ai maw?
And the rest of the matters of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
9 Jehoahaz loe ampanawk khaeah anghak moe, Samaria vangpui ah aphum o; anih zuengah a capa to siangpahrang ah oh.
And Jehoahaz lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in Samaria, and reign doth Joash his son in his stead.
10 Judah siangpahrang Joash siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning quithum, sarihto naah, Jehoahaz capa Jehoash loe Samaria ah Israel siangpahrang ah oh; anih loe saning hatlaitarukto thung siangpahrang ah oh.
In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah reigned hath Jehoash son of Jehoahaz over Israel, in Samaria — sixteen years,
11 Anih loe Angraeng mikhnukah kahoih ai hmuen to sak; Israel kaminawk zaesakkung, Nebat capa Jeroboam zaehaih loklam to caehtaak ai; to loklam to anih mah pazui.
and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, he hath not turned aside from all the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he caused Israel to sin, therein he walked.
12 Jehoash siangpahrang ah oh nathung kaom hmuennawk, a sak ih hmuennawk, Judah siangpahrang Amaziah misatukhaihnawk boih loe, Israel siangpahrangnawk ahmin pakuemhaih cabu thungah tarik o na ai maw?
And the rest of the matters of Joash, and all that he did, and his might with which he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
13 Jehoash loe ampanawk khaeah anghak; anih zuengah Jeroboam to siangpahrang ah oh. Joash loe Samaria vangpui ah, Israel siangpahrangnawk hoi nawnto aphum o.
And Joash lieth with his fathers, and Jeroboam hath sat on his throne, and Joash is buried in Samaria, with the kings of Israel.
14 Elisha loe duek han khoek to ngannat; to naah Israel siangpahrang Jehoash anih khaeah caeh moe, Kam pa, kam pa, Israel kaminawk ih hrang lakok hoi hrang angthueng kaminawk! tiah qah haih.
And Elisha hath been sick with his sickness in which he dieth, and come down unto him doth Joash king of Israel, and weepeth on his face, and saith, 'My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and its horsemen.'
15 Elisha mah anih khaeah, Kalii hoi palaa to la ah, tiah a naa. Anih mah kalii hoi pala to lak pae.
And Elisha saith to him, 'Take bow and arrows:' and he taketh unto him bow and arrows.
16 Anih mah Israel siangpahrang khaeah, Kalii nuiah na ban to koeng ah, tiah a naa. Siangpahrang mah kalii nuiah a ban to koeng, anih ih ban nuiah Elisha mah a ban to koeng thuih.
And he saith to the king of Israel, 'Place thy hand on the bow;' and he placeth his hand, and Elisha putteth his hands on the hands of the king,
17 Anih mah ni angyae bang ih thokbuem to paong ah, tiah a naa. Anih mah thokbuem to paongh pae. Elisha mah, Kaat ah, tiah a naa. To naah anih mah kah. Angraeng pahlonghaih palaa, Syria ban thung hoi pahlonghaih palaa, tiah Elisha mah thuih. Aphek, tiah kawk ih ahmuen ah Syria kaminawk to na tuh ueloe, na hum boih tih, tiah a naa.
and saith, 'Open the window eastward;' and he openeth, and Elisha saith, 'Shoot,' and he shooteth; and he saith, 'An arrow of salvation to Jehovah, and an arrow of salvation against Aram, and thou hast smitten Aram, in Aphek, till consuming.'
18 To pacoengah palaa to la ah, tiah a thuih pae pongah, siangpahrang mah palaa to lak pae. Elisha mah Israel siangpahrang khaeah, Na palaa to long ah bop ah, tiah a naa. Anih mah vai thumto boh pacoengah, anghak.
And he saith, 'Take the arrows,' and he taketh; and he saith to the king of Israel, 'Smite to the earth;' and he smiteth three times, and stayeth.
19 Sithaw ih kami loe palungphui moe, anih khaeah, Long to vai pangato maw, vai tarukto maw na boh han oh, to tiah na boh nahaeloe Syria kaminawk to na tamit boih tih; toe vaihi loe vaithumto khue ni na pazawk tih boeh, tiah a naa.
And the man of God is wroth against him, and saith, 'By smiting five or six times then thou hadst smitten Aram till consuming; and now, three times thou dost smite Aram.'
20 Elisha loe duek moe, nihcae mah anih to aphum o. Moab ih mingcahnawk loe nipui amtong kruek prae thungah akun o.
And Elisha dieth, and they bury him, and troops of Moab come in to the land, at the coming in of the year,
21 Israel kaminawk mah kadueh kami maeto aphum o naah, poek ai pui hoiah mingcah abu maeto a hnuk o, to naah kadueh qok to Elisha taprong ah vah o sut; to kami ih qok loe Elisha ih ahuhnawk hoiah angbet pongah, hing let moe, a khok hoiah angdoet tahang.
and it cometh to pass, they are burying a man, and lo, they have seen the troop, and cast the man into the grave of Elisha, and the man goeth and cometh against the bones of Elisha, and liveth, and riseth on his feet.
22 Jehoahaz siangpahrang ah oh nathung, Syria siangpahrang Hazael mah Israel kaminawk to pacaekthlaek.
And Hazael king of Aram hath oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz,
23 Toe Angraeng mah nihcae to tahmen; Abraham, Issak, Jakob hoi sak ih lokkamhaih pongah nihcae khaeah tahmenhaih amtuengsak, nihcae to tamit ai, a hmaa hoiah doeh haek ai.
and Jehovah doth favour them, and pity them, and turn unto them, for the sake of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and hath not been willing to destroy them, nor to cast them from His presence as yet.
24 Syria siangpahrang Hazael duek pacoengah loe, anih zuengah a capa Ben-Hadad to siangpahrang ah oh.
And Hazael king of Aram dieth, and reign doth Ben-Hadad his son in his stead,
25 Jehoahaz capa Jehoash mah ampa Jehoahaz mah lak ih vangpuinawk to Hazael capa Ben-Hadad khae hoiah lak let; Joash mah nihcae to vai thumto karoek to pazawk, to tiah Israel vangpuinawk to a lak let.
and Jehoash son of Jehoahaz turneth and taketh the cities out of the hand of Ben-Hadad son of Hazael that he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father in war; three times hath Joash smitten him, and he bringeth back the cities of Israel.
