1 Ahaziah amno Athaliah mah capa duek boeh, tiah panoek naah, angthawk moe, siangpahrang imthung takohnawk to hum boih.

And Athaliah [is] mother of Ahaziah, and she hath seen that her son [is] dead, and she riseth, and destroyeth all the seed of the kingdom;

2 Toe siangpahrang Joram canu, Ahaziah ih tanuh, Jehosheba mah Ahaziah capa Joash to lak moe, hum han kaom siangpahrang capanawk salak hoiah paquk ving; anih hoi anih khenzawnkung Athaliah khae hoi loih thai hanah, imthung ah a hawk ving; to pongah anih loe hum ih kaminawk thungah athum ai.

and Jehosheba daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, taketh Joash son of Ahaziah, and stealeth him out of the midst of the sons of the king who are put to death, him and his nurse, in the inner part of the bed-chambers, and they hide him from the presence of Athaliah, and he hath not been put to death,

3 Anih loe Athaliah mah prae uk nathung, angmah khenzawnkung hoiah nawnto saning tarukto thung anghawk.

and he is with her, in the house of Jehovah, hiding himself, six years, and Athaliah is reigning over the land.

4 Saning sarihto naah loe, Jehoiada mah misatuh kami cumvaito ukkungnawk, misatuh angraengnawk hoi misatoep kaminawk boih, angmah khaeah Angraeng ih tempul ah angzoh hanah kawk; nihcae hoi nawnto lokmaihaih to a sak moe, Angraeng im ah nihcae to lokkamhaih saksak. To pacoengah siangpahrang capa to nihcae khaeah patuek.

And in the seventh year hath Jehoiada sent and taketh the heads of the hundreds, of the executioners and of the runners, and bringeth them in unto him, to the house of Jehovah, and maketh with them a covenant, and causeth them to swear in the house of Jehovah, and sheweth them the son of the king,

and commandeth them, saying, 'This [is] the thing that ye do; The third of you [are] going in on the sabbath, and keepers of the charge of the house of the king,

6 thumto thungah maeto mah Sur khongkha to toep oh, kalah thumto thungah maeto bae mah misatoep kami ohhaih hnukbang ih khongkha to toep oh, tempul amro han ai ah to tiah toep oh.

and the third [is] at the gate of Sur, and the third at the gate behind the runners, and ye have kept the charge of the house pulled down;

7 Sabbath niah toksak han tacawt kami abu thumto thungah maeto mah siangpahrang taeng ih Angraeng im to toep oh.

and two parts of you, all going out on the sabbath — they have kept the charge of the house of Jehovah about the king,

8 Siangpahrang taengah om oh loe, kami boih ban ah maiphawmaica to sin oh; nangcae ohhaih ahmuen thungah akun kaminawk to hum o boih ah; siangpahrang caehhaih hoi akunhaih ahmuen to toep o boih ah, tiah a naa.

and ye have compassed the king round about, each with his weapons in his hand, and he who is coming unto the ranges is put to death; and be ye with the king in his going out and in his coming in.'

9 Qaima Jehoiada mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, cumvaito ukkung misatuh angraengnawk mah sak o; Sabbath niah angzo kami hoi tacawt kaminawk boih qaima Jehoida khaeah caeh o.

And the heads of the hundreds do according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded, and take each his men going in on the sabbath, with those going out on the sabbath, and come in unto Jehoiada the priest,

10 Qaima mah Angraeng imthung ah kaom, David ih tayae hoi aphawnawk to cumvaito ukkung misatuh angraengnawk khaeah paek.

and the priest giveth to the heads of the hundreds the spears and the shields that king David had, that [are] in the house of Jehovah.

11 Misatoep kaminawk loe ban ah maiphawmaica to sin o boih; siangpahrang taengah oh o moe, hmaicam hoi tempul taengah, tempul takii aluek aloih bangah oh o boih.

And the runners stand, each with his weapons in his hand, from the right shoulder of the house unto the left shoulder of the house, by the altar and by the house, by the king round about;

12 Jehoiada mah siangpahrang capa to angzoh haih; angraeng lumuek to angmueksak moe, anih to cabu hoiah lokkamhaih saksak; to pacoengah anih to siangpahrang ah taphong o. Anih to situi bawh o; kaminawk loe, Siangpahrang hinglung sawk nasoe, tiah ban tabaeng hoiah hangh o.

and he bringeth out the son of the king, and putteth on him the crown, and the testimony, and they make him king, and anoint him, and smite the hand, and say, 'Let the king live.'

13 Misatoep kaminawk hoi kaminawk hanghaih lok to Athaliah mah thaih naah, kaminawk ohhaih Angraeng im ah caeh.

And Athaliah heareth the voice of the runners [and] of the people, and she cometh in unto the people, to the house of Jehovah,

14 Anih mah doeng naah, khenah, Judah atawk baktiah siangpahrang loe homh maeto taengah angdoet, siangpahrang taengah angraengnawk hoi mongkah ueng kaminawk to oh o, prae kaminawk loe anghoe o moe, kaminawk mah mongkah to ueng o, tiah a hnuk naah, Athaliah mah angmah ih kahni to asih moe, Prae nuiah oep om ai kami, prae nuiah oep om ai kami, tiah a hangh.

and looketh, and lo, the king is standing by the pillar, according to the ordinance, and the heads, and the trumpets, [are] by the king, and all the people of the land are rejoicing, and blowing with trumpets, and Athaliah rendeth her garments, and calleth, 'Conspiracy! conspiracy!'

15 Qaima Jehoiada mah cumvaito misatuh zaehoikung angraengnawk, misatuh khenzawnkungnawk khaeah, Anih to Angraeng imthung ah hum o hmah, tasa bangah pathok oh, to nongpata hnukbang kami loe sumsen hoiah hum oh, tiah a naa.

And Jehoiada the priest commandeth the heads of the hundreds, inspectors of the force, and saith unto them, 'Bring her out unto the outside of the ranges, and him who is going after her, put to death by the sword:' for the priest had said, 'Let her not be put to death in the house of Jehovah.'

16 Athaliah to naeh o moe, siangpahrang im akunhaih hrang angthuenghaih loklam ah caeh o haih moe, to ah anih to hum o.

And they make for her sides, and she entereth the way of the entering in of the horses to the house of the king, and is put to death there.

17 Jehoiada mah siangpahrang hoi kaminawk boih Angraeng ih kami ah oh o hanah, Agraeng hoi lokmaihaih to saksak; siangpahrang hoi kaminawk salakah doeh lokmaihaih saksak let bae vop.

And Jehoiada maketh the covenant between Jehovah and the king and the people, to be for a people to Jehovah, and between the king and the people.

18 Prae thung ih kaminawk boih Baal tempul ah caeh o moe, tempul to phraek o; anih ih hmaicamnawk hoi krangnawk to vah o phaeng moe, Baal ih qaima Mattan to hmaicam hmaa ah hum o. Qaima Jehoiada mah Angraeng ih tempul khen kaminawk to suek.

And all the people of the land go in to the house of Baal, and break it down, its altars and its images they have thoroughly broken, and Mattan priest of Baal they have slain before the altars; and the priest setteth inspectors over the house of Jehovah,

19 Cumvaito ukkung angraengnawk, misatuh angraengnawk, misatoep kaminawk hoi prae thung ih kaminawk to kawk boih moe, singpahrang to Angraeng ih tempul hoi siangpahrang im ah, misatoep kaminawk ih khongkha caehhaih loklam bang hoiah caeh o haih tathuk pacoengah, angraeng tangkhang nuiah anghnut o sak.

and taketh the heads of the hundreds, and the executioners, and the runners, and all the people of the land, and they bring down the king from the house of Jehovah, and come by the way of the gate of the runners, to the house of the king, and he sitteth on the throne of the kings.

20 Prae thung ih kaminawk boih loe anghoe o; Athaliah to siangpahrang im taengah sumsen hoiah hum o boeh pongah, vangpui loe amding rue.

And all the people of the land rejoice, and the city [is] quiet, and Athaliah they have put to death by the sword in the house of the king;

21 Jehoash siangpahrang ah oh amtong naah, saning sarihto ni oh vop.

a son of seven years is Jehoash in his reigning.
