1 Ahab duek pacoengah, Moab mah Israel to tuk.
After the death of Ahab, Moab rebelled against Israel.
2 Ahaziah loe Samaria vangpui ah ranuih ih thokbuem hoiah krak moe, ngannat pongah, Hae nathaih hoi ngantui let tih maw tiah dueng hanah, Ekron vangpui ih sithaw Baal-Zebub khaeah laicaeh patoeh.
Now Ahaziah had fallen through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria and injured himself. So he sent messengers and instructed them: “Go inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I will recover from this injury.”
3 Toe Angraeng ih van kami mah Tishbeh acaeng Elijah khaeah, Angthawk loe, Samaria siangpahrang ih laicaehnawk to tongh hanah caeh tahang ah; nihcae khaeah, Israel prae ah Sithaw om ai pongah maw, Ekron sithaw Baal-Zebub khaeah lokdueng hanah na caeh?
But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are on your way to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?’
4 To pongah vaihi Angraeng mah, Nang songhaih ihkhun nui hoiah nang hum mak ai; na dueh tangtang tih boeh, tiah thuih, tiah a naa. To pongah Elijah loe caeh moe, anih mah thuih ih baktih toengah a thuih pae.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘You will not get up from the bed on which you are lying. You will surely die.’” So Elijah departed.
5 Laicaehnawk siangpahrang khaeah amlaem o let naah, siangpahrang mah nihcae khaeah, Tipongah nam laem o let loe? tiah a naa.
When the messengers returned to the king, he asked them, “Why have you returned?”
6 Nihcae mah siangpahrang khaeah, Kaicae tongh hanah kami maeto angzoh, anih mah kaicae khaeah, Nangcae patoehkung siangpahrang khaeah amlaem o let ah loe, Angraeng mah, Israel prae ah Sithaw om ai pongah maw Ekron sithaw, Baal-Zebub khaeah lokdueng hanah kami na patoeh? To pongah nang loe angsonghaih ihkhun nui hoiah nang hum mak ai, na dueh tangtang tih boeh, tiah thuih, tiah thui pae oh, tiah ang naa, tiah a thuih pae o.
They replied, “A man came up to meet us and said, ‘Go back to the king who sent you and tell him that this is what the LORD says: Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending these men to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not get up from the bed on which you are lying. You will surely die.’”
7 Siangpahrang mah nihcae khaeah, Hae loknawk thuih hanah nangcae tongh kami loe kawbaktih kami maw? tiah a naa.
The king asked them, “What sort of man came up to meet you and spoke these words to you?”
8 Nihcae mah siangpahrang khaeah, Anih loe nganmui pop kami, kaeng ah moihin qui angzaeng kami ah oh, tiah a naa o. To naah siangpahrang mah, Anih loe Tishbeh acaeng Elijah bae to, tiah a naa.
“He was a hairy man,” they answered, “with a leather belt around his waist.” “It was Elijah the Tishbite,” said the king.
9 To naah siangpahrang mah misatuh angraeng maeto hoiah anih ih kami quipangatonawk to Elijah khaeah patoeh. Khenah, misatuh angraeng loe mae nuiah kanghnu, Elijah khaeah caeh tahang moe, anih khaeah, Sithaw kami, siangpahrang mah, Angzo tathuk nasoe, tiah a thuih, tiah a naa.
Then King Ahaziah sent to Elijah a captain with his company of fifty men. So the captain went up to Elijah, who was sitting on top of a hill, and said to him, “Man of God, the king declares, ‘Come down!’”

Elijah answered the captain, “If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” And fire came down from heaven and consumed the captain and his fifty men.
11 To pacoengah siangpahrang mah misatuh angraeng maeto hoi anih ih kami quipangatonawk to patoeh let. Misatuh angraeng mah anih khaeah, Sithaw kami, siangpahrang mah, Karangah angzoh tathuk nasoe, tiah a thuih, tiah a naa.
So the king sent to Elijah another captain with his fifty men. And the captain said to Elijah, “Man of God, the king declares, ‘Come down at once!’”
12 Elijah mah nihcae khaeah, Sithaw kami ah ka oh nahaeloe, van hoiah hmai krah tathuk nasoe loe, nangmah hoi na taengah kaom kami quipangatonawk to kangh nasoe, tiah a naa. To naah van hoiah Sithaw ih hmai to krak tathuk moe, anih hoi anih ih kami quipangatonawk to kangh.
Again Elijah replied, “If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” And the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed the captain and his fifty men.
13 Anih mah thumto haih misatuh angraeng maeto hoi kami qui pangaonawk to patoeh let. Thumto haih misatuh angraeng loe caeh tahang moe, Elijah hmaa ah khokkhu cangkrawn hoi akuep moe, anih khaeah, Sithaw kami, ka hinghaih hoi na tamna quipangatonawk ih hinghaih to na pathlung pae hanah tahmenhaih kang hnik.
So the king sent a third captain with his fifty men. And the third captain went up, fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, “Man of God, may my life and the lives of these fifty servants please be precious in your sight.
14 Khenah, van hoiah hmai krak tathuk moe, hmaloe ih misatuh kaminawk hoi hnetto haih misatuh angraeng loe hmai mah kangh boih boeh, toe vaihi ka hinghaih na pathlung raeh, tiah a naa.
Behold, fire has come down from heaven and consumed the first two captains of fifty, with all their men. But now may my life be precious in your sight.”
15 Angraeng ih van kami mah Elijah khaeah, Anih hoi nawnto caeh tathuk ah; anih to zii hmah, tiah a naa. Elijah loe angthawk moe, siangpahrang khaeah anih hoi nawnto caeh tathuk.
Then the angel of the LORD said to Elijah, “Go down with him. Do not be afraid of him.” So Elijah got up and went down with him to the king.
16 Anih mah siangpahrang khaeah, Angraeng mah, Israel prae ah lokdueng hanah Sithaw om ai pongah maw, Ekron sithaw Baal-Zebub khaeah lokdueng hanah kami na patoeh? To pongah nang songhaih ihkhun nui hoiah natuek naah doeh nang hum tathuk mak ai, na dueh tangtang tih boeh, tiah a naa.
And Elijah said to King Ahaziah, “This is what the LORD says: Is there really no God in Israel for you to inquire of His word? Is that why you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not get up from the bed on which you are lying. You will surely die.”
17 To pongah Angraeng mah Elijah khaeah thuih pae ih lok baktih toengah, anih loe duek. Ahaziah loe capa tawn ai pongah, Judah siangpahrang Jehosaphat capa Jehoram siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hnetto naah, amnawk Jehoram mah siangpahrang tok to sak.
So Ahaziah died according to the word of the LORD that Elijah had spoken. And since he had no son, Jehoram succeeded him in the second year of the reign of Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat over Judah.
18 Ahaziah siangpahrang ah oh nathung, a sak ih kalah hmuennawk boih loe Israel siangpahrangnawk ahmin pakuemhaih cabu thungah tarik o na ai maw?
As for the rest of the acts of Ahaziah, along with his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
