< 2 Dungkrhoekhaih 21 >
1 To pacoengah, Jehosaphat loe ampanawk khaeah anghak moe, David vangpui ah ampanaw khaeah aphum o; anih zuengah a capa Jehoram to siangpahrang ah oh.
Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of David: and Jehoram his son reigned in his place.
2 Jehosaphat capa, Jehoram ih nawkamyanawk loe Azariah, Jehiel, Zekariah, Azariah, Mikael hoi Shephatiah; hae kaminawk loe Israel siangpahrang Jehosaphat ih caa ah oh o boih.
He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3 Ampa mah nihcae hanah paroeai kapop sui hoi sum kanglungnawk, atho kana hmuenmaenawk hoi sipae hoi thungh ih Judah vangpuinawk to tangqum ah paek; toe prae loe calu Jehoram hanah paek.
Their father gave them great gifts, of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fortified cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram, because he was the firstborn.
4 Jehoram loe ampa ih prae to toep moe, kacak siangpahrang ah oh, anih loe angmah ih nawkamyanawk to sumsen hoiah hum boih, thoemto Israel angraengnawk doeh a hum.
Now when Jehoram was risen up over the kingdom of his father, and had strengthened himself, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and various also of the princes of Israel.
5 Siangpahrang ah oh amtong naah, Jehoram loe saning quithum, hnetto oh, anih mah Jerusalem to saning tazetto thung uk.
Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6 Anih loe Ahab canu to lak moe, Ahab imthung takoh khosakhaih baktiah, Israel siangpahrangnawk caehhaih loklam to pazui; Angraeng mikhnukah hmuen kahoih to sak.
He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for he had the daughter of Ahab as wife: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah.
7 Toe Angraeng mah David hoiah lokmaihaih to sak pongah, David imthung to phrae mak ai; anih hoi a caanawk khaeah dungzan aanghaih to paek hanah loksuek boeh.
However Jehovah would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children always.
8 Jehoram dung naah, Edom loe Judah prae nuiah misa angthawk moe, angmacae koeh ah siangpahrang to suek o.
In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
9 To pongah Jehoram loe angmah ih angraengnawk hoi hrangleengnawk boih to kawk moe, anih hoi nawnto caeh; anih loe aqum ah angthawk moe, nihcae takui khoep Edom kaminawk hoi hrangleeng angthueng misatuh angraengnawk to tuk.
Then Jehoram passed over with his captains, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and struck the Edomites who surrounded him, along with the captains of the chariots.
10 To pongah vaihni ni khoek to Edom kaminawk loe Judahnawk ih misa ah oh o. Jehoram loe ampanawk ih Angraeng Sithaw to pahnawt ving pongah, to nathuem ah Libnah prae doeh misa angthawk toeng.
So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah to this day: then Libnah revolted at the same time from under his hand, because he had forsaken Jehovah, the God of his fathers.
11 Judah prae ah kaom maenawk nuiah hmuensangnawk to a sak, Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk to tangzat zawhsak moe, Judah to loklam amkhraengsak.
Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and made the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute, and led Judah astray.
12 To naah tahmaa Elijah khae ih capat to anih khaeah phak, capat pongah, nam pa David ih Angraeng Sithaw mah hae tiah thuih; nam pa Jehosaphat hoi Judah siangpahrang Asa caehhaih loklam ah na caeh ai boeh,
A letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, "Thus says Jehovah, the God of David your father, 'Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13 toe Israel siangpahrangnawk caehhaih loklam to na pazui, Ahab imthung takoh mah sak ih baktih toengah, Judah hoi Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk to tangzat zaw kami ah nang coengsak; nangmah pong kahoih kue, nam pa imthung takoh ih nam nawkamya khaeh mataeng doeh na hum boih;
but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute, like the house of Ahab did, and also have slain your brothers of your father's house, who were better than yourself:
14 to pongah khenah, vaihiah Angraeng mah nang ih kaminawk, na caanawk, na zunawk hoi na tawnh ih hmuenmaenawk boih nuiah kanung parai danpaekhaih phasak tih boeh.
look, Jehovah will strike with a great plague your people, and your children, and your wives, and all your substance;
15 Nangmah to doeh ni thokkruek na nathaih kasae mah, na zok thung ih tazae to tasa bangah tacawt ai karoek to, kanung parai nathaih mah pha thui tih, tiah tarik pae.
and you shall have great sickness by disease of your bowels, until your bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.'"
16 Jehoram tuk hanah Angraeng mah Philistin hoi Ethiopia kaminawk taengah kaom Arab kaminawk ih palungthin to pahruek pae.
Jehovah stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians who are beside the Ethiopians:
17 Nihcae loe Judah prae thungah angzoh o moe, misatuk o; siangpahrang imthung ah a hnuk o ih hmuennawk to lak pae o boih moe, a capa hoi a zunawk doeh hoih pae o king; a capa kanawk koek Jehoahaz ai ah loe capa maeto doeh tahmat o ai.
and they came up against Judah, and broke into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, except Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18 Hae tiah oh pacoengah, Angraeng mah kahoih thai ai tazae nathaih to phaksak.
After all this Jehovah struck him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19 Siangpahrang loe atue sawk ah ngannat, saning hnetto boenghaih bangah loe, a nathaih to nung parai pongah, tazae to tasa bangah tacawt pae, anih loe kana nung parai pongah duek. Prae kaminawk loe anih ampanawk han sak pae o ih hmaiqoenghaih baktiah anih hanah sah pae o ai.
It happened, in process of time, at the end of two years, that his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness, and he died of severe diseases. His people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
20 Jehoram siangpahrang ah oh tangsuek naah, saning quithum, hnetto oh moe, Jerusalem to saning tazetto thung uk; anih duek naah, mi doeh palungsae o ai. Anih loe David vangpui ah aphum o, siangpahrangnawk ih taprong ah aphum o ai.
Thirty-two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years: and he departed without being desired; and they buried him in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
