< 2 Dungkrhoekhaih 20 >

1 Hae pacoengah, Moab kaminawk hoi Amon kaminawk loe thoemto Syria kaminawk hoi angbomh o moe, Jehosaphat tuk hanah angzoh o.
And it came to pass, after this, that the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon, and, with them, some of the Meunim, came against Jehoshaphat, to battle.
2 Thoemto kaminawk Jehosaphat khaeah angzoh o moe, anih khaeah, Tuipui yaeh ih Syria prae thung hoiah nang tuk hanah paroeai misatuh kaminawk angzoh o; khenah, nihcae loe En-Gedi, tiah kawk ih Hazazon-tamar vangpui ah phak o boeh, tiah a naa o.
And there came [some] and told Jehoshaphat, saying, There is coming against thee, a great multitude from beyond the sea, from Syria, —and lo! they are in Hazazon-tamar, the same, is Engedi.
3 Jehosaphat loe zit moe, Angraeng khaeah lokdueng hanah poek; Judah prae boih ah buhzah hanah lok a paek.
And Jehoshaphat was afraid, and set his face to seek unto Yahweh, —and proclaimed a fast for all Judah.
4 Judah kaminawk loe Angraeng khaeah abomhaih hnik hanah nawnto amkhueng o; Angraeng pakrong hanah, Judah prae vangpui kruek ih kaminawk to angzoh o.
And Judah gathered themselves together, to enquire of Yahweh, —even, out of all the cities of Judah, came they in, to seek Yahweh.
5 Jehosaphat loe Angraeng im longhma kangtha, Judah hoi Jerusalem ih kaminawk salakah angdoet moe,
And Jehoshaphat stood, in the convocation of Judah and Jerusalem in the house of Yahweh, —before the new court;
and said, O Yahweh, God of our fathers, art not, thou, God in the heavens? and art, thou, not ruling throughout all the kingdoms of the nations? and, in thy hand, [are there not] strength and might? and is there any who, against thee, can stand?
7 Nang loe kaicae ih Sithaw ah na oh, nangmah ih kami Israelnawk hmaa ah, hae prae kaminawk hae na haek moe, nam pui Abraham ih caanawk khaeah dungzan khoek to na paek boeh na ai maw?
Art not, thou, our God, who didst dispossess the inhabitants of this land, from before thy people Israel, —and didst give it unto the seed of Abraham who loved thee, unto times age-abiding?
8 Nihcae loe hae prae thungah oh o moe, Nang ih ahmin hanah hmuenciim to sak o pacoengah,
and they have dwelt therein, —and have built for thee therein, a sanctuary for thy Name, saying:
9 kaicae nuiah sumsen maw, lokcaekhaih maw, to tih ai boeh loe kasae nathaih hoi khokhaahaih phak naah, to tih ai boeh loe patangkhanghaih ka tongh o naah, nang ih ahmin loe hae im thungah oh pongah, hae im thungah na hmaa ah kang doet o moe, nang kang kawk o naah, nang mah pathim ueloe, nang bomh tih.
If there come upon us calamity, the sword of judgment or pestilence or famine, we will stand before this house and before thee, for, thy Name, is in this house, —that we may make outcry unto thee out of our distress, that thou mayest hear and save.
10 Toe vaihiah khenah, Israel caanawk Izip prae thung hoi tacawt o naah, nihcae to na naehsak ai; nihcae to tuh ai ah, amlaem o taak; Amon, Moab hoi Seir mae ah kaom kaminawk loe,
Now, therefore, lo! the sons of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom thou didst not suffer Israel to invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, —but they turned away from them and destroyed them not,
11 kaicae han qawk ah nang paek ih prae thung hoiah kaicae hae ang haek o moe, lu pathok hanah angzoh o boeh.
yea lo! they, are requiting us, —by coming to drive us out, from thy possession, which thou didst cause us to possess.
12 Aw kaicae ih Sithaw, nihcae to lok na caek mak ai maw? Kaicae tuk han angzo paroeai pop misatuh kaminawk tuk thaihaih tha ka tawn o ai; timaw ka sak o han, ka panoek o ai boeh; kaicae loe nang khue ni kang khet o, tiah lawk a thuih.
O our God, wilt thou not bring judgment upon them, seeing that there is, in us, no strength, before this great multitude, that is coming against us, —we, therefore, know not what we shall do, but, unto thee, are our eyes.
13 Judah kaminawk loe caa nawktanawk, a zunawk hoi a caanawk boih hoiah Angraeng hmaa ah angdoet o.
And, all Judah, were standing before Yahweh, —also their little ones, their wives and their children.
14 To pacoengah minawk salakah kaom Jahaziel nuiah Angraeng ih Muithla to angzoh; anih loe Zekariah ih capa, anih loe Benaiah ih capa, anih loe Jeiel ih capa, anih loe Mattaniah capa, anih loe Levi acaeng, Asaph ih capa ah oh.
Now, as for Jahaziel son of Zechariah son of Benaiah son of Jeiel son of Mattaniah a Levite, of the sons of Asaph, there came upon him the spirit of Yahweh, in the midst of the convocation:
15 Anih mah, Siangpahrang Jehosaphat, Judah kaminawk hoi Jerusalem vangpui ah kaom kaminawk boih, tahngai oh; nangcae khaeah Angraeng mah hae tiah lokthuih; hae ih kapop parai misatuh kaminawk hae zii o hmah loe, thasae o sak hmah; misatukhaih loe nangcae ih tok na ai, Angraeng ih tok ni.
and he said, Give ye heed, all Judah and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat! Thus, saith Yahweh unto you. As for you, do not fear nor be dismayed, by reason of this great multitude, for, not yours, is the battle, but, God’s.
16 Khawnbangah nihcae tuk hanah caeh oh; khenah, nihcae loe Ziz vangpui caehhaih tahawt kathuk hoiah angzoh o tahang; nihcae to Jeruel praezaek pha ai naah kaom, tahawt boenghaih ahmuen ah na hnu o tih.
To-morrow, go ye down against them, for lo! there they are coming up by the ascent of Ziz, —and ye shall find them at the end of the ravine, facing the wilderness of Jeruel.
17 Aw Judah hoi Jerusalem kaminawk, hae misa hae na tuk o han angai ai; nang doethaih ahmuen ah kacakah angdoe oh loe, Angraeng pahlonghaih to khen oh; zii o hmah loe, thasae o sak hmah; nihcae tongh hanah khawnbangah caeh oh; Angraeng loe nangcae hoi nawnto om tih, tiah a naa.
It is not, for you, to fight in this matter, —take your station, stand still, and see the salvation of Yahweh with you, O Judah and Jerusalem, do not fear, nor be dismayed, to-morrow, go ye out to meet them, and, Yahweh, will be with you.
18 Jehosaphat loe long ah akuep; Judah hoi Jerusalem ih kaminawk boih, Angraeng hmaa ah akuep o moe, Angraeng to bok o.
And Jehoshaphat bowed his head, with his face to the ground, —and, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, fell down before Yahweh, prostrating themselves unto Yahweh.
19 Levi acaeng Kohat kaminawk hoi Korhit kaminawk loe angdoet o moe, Israel Angraeng Sithaw to tha hoi saphaw o.
And Levites—of the sons of the Kohathites and of the sons of the Korahites, stood up to offer praise unto Yahweh, God of Israel, with an exceedingly loud voice.
20 Khawnbang khawnthaw ah angthawk o moe, Tekoa praezaek ah caeh o; a caeh o li naah Jehosaphat mah angdoet moe, Judah hoi Jerusalem kaminawk, ka lok hae tahngai oh! Na Angraeng Sithaw to tang oh; to tiah nahaeloe kacakah na om o tih; anih ih tahmaanawk nuiah tanghaih tawn oh, to tiah nahaeloe na pazawk o tih, tiah a naa.
So they rose early in the morning, and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa, —and, as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, Trust ye in Yahweh your God, and ye shall be trusted, Trust ye in his prophets, and ye shall prosper.
21 Kaminawk khaeah lokdueng pacoeng, Angraeng amlunghaih loe dungzan khoek to kacak amlunghaih ah oh pongah, Angraeng saphawhaih om nasoe, tiah thuih hanah, misatuh kaminawk hmaa ah caeh o; kranghoih Angraeng ciimcaihaih to saphaw o hanah, laasah kaminawk to Angraeng hanah a suek.
And, when he had given counsel unto the people, he appointed such as should sing unto Yahweh, and offer praise with holy adorning, —as they should be going forth before the armed men, that they should be saying, O give thanks unto Yahweh, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.
22 Nihcae mah saphawhaih laasak amtong o naah, Judah prae tuk hanah angzo, Amon kaminawk, Moab kaminawk hoi Sier mae nui ah kaom kaminawk to Angraeng mah a ngangsak moe, nihcae to tuk pazawk o boih.
And, when they began to sing and to praise, Yahweh had set liers-in-wait against the sons of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, who were coming against Judah, and they were smitten.
23 Amon hoi Moab kaminawk loe Seir mae nui ih kaminawk to hum moe, tamit boih hanah angthawk o; Seir mae nui ah kaom kaminawk to hum o moe, tamit o boih pacoengah, angmacae hoi angmacae to anghum o.
Then rose up the sons of Ammon and Moab against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, to devote and to destroy, —and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to cut off, every man his neighbour.
24 Judah kaminawk loe praezaek ih misatoephaih imsang to phak o moe, pop parai misatuh kaminawk to khet o naah, to ih kaminawk loe mi doeh loih o ai; long ah angsong kami qok cing ni a hnuk o.
So when, Judah, came near the watch-tower of the wilderness, —they turned towards the multitude, and lo! there they were, dead bodies fallen to the earth, with none to escape.
25 To pongah Jehosaphat hoi angmah ih kaminawk loe, misanawk ih hmuenmae to lak hanah caeh o; kadueh kaminawk khae ih paroeai kapop hmuenmaenawk hoi atho kana thlungnawk to lak pae o; to ih hmuenmaenawk loe phaw thai ai khoek to pop; hmuenmae pop hmoek pongah ni thumto thung a lak o.
And, when Jehoshaphat and his people came near to plunder the spoil of them, they found among them, in abundance, both riches and dead bodies and precious jewels, and they stripped off for themselves, beyond what they could carry away, —and they were three days plundering the spoil, for great it was.
26 Ni palito naah loe Berakah azawn ah amkhueng o moe, Angraeng to tahamhoihaih paek o; to pongah to ahmuen to vaihni ni khoek to Berakah azawn, tiah kawk o.
And, on the fourth day, they assembled themselves in the vale of Beracah, for there they blessed Yahweh, —on this account, was the name of that place called The Vale of Beracah—unto this day.
27 Angraeng mah nihcae ih misa nuiah anghoehaih paek pongah, Jehosaphat mah Judah hoi Jerusalem ih kaminawk to hoih boih moe, anghoehaih hoiah Jerusalem ah amlaem o.
Then turned every man of Judah and Jerusalem, with, Jehoshaphat, at their head, to go again to Jerusalem with joy, —for Yahweh had caused them to rejoice over their enemies.
28 Jerusalem ah katoeng congca, aqui kapop katoeng hoi mongkah uenghaih hoiah Angraeng im thungah caeh o.
So they came to Jerusalem, with harps and with lyres, and with trumpets, —unto the house of Yahweh.
29 Angraeng mah Israel caanawk ih misa to tuk pae ti, tiah ataeng ih prae kaminawk mah thaih o naah, nihcae boih nuiah Sithaw zithaih to oh.
And it came to pass that, the dread of God, was upon all the kingdoms of the countries, -when they heard, that Yahweh had fought against the enemies of Israel.
30 Angmah ih Sithaw mah ataeng boih ah monghaih to paek pongah, Jehosaphat ih prae loe khosak nawmhaih hoiah koi.
So the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was quiet, —for his God, gave him rest, round about.
31 To tiah Jehosaphat loe Judah siangpahrang ah oh; Judah siangpahrang ah oh naah saning quithum, pangato oh moe, Jerusalem to saning pumphae pangato thung uk; amno ih ahmin loe Shilhi canu Azubah.
Thus Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah, —thirty-five years old, was he when he began to reign, and, twenty-five years, reigned he in Jerusalem, and the, name of his mother, was Azubah, daughter of Shilhi.
32 Anih loe ampa Asa caehhaih loklam ah caeh, loklam amkhraeng taak ai; Angraeng mikhnukah katoeng hmuen to sak.
And he walked in the way of his father Asa, and turned not from it, —doing that which was right, in the eyes of Yahweh.
33 Toe hmuensangnawk to va boih ai; kaminawk loe angmacae ampanawk ih Sithaw nuiah palungthin suem o ai toengtoeng vop.
Howbeit, the high places, were not taken away, —for as yet, the people, had not fixed their heart unto the God of their fathers.
34 Siangpahrang Jehosaphat mah amtonghaih hoi boeng khoek to sak ih hmuennawk loe, Hanani capa Jehu ih cabu pongah tarik o; to hmuennawk loe Israel siangpahrangnawk ih cabu pongah tarik o.
But, the rest of the story of Jehoshaphat, first and last, lo! there it is written in the story of Jehu son of Hanani, which hath been added to the book of the Kings of Israel.
35 Hnukkhuem ah Judah siangpahrang Jehosaphat loe, kasae hmuen sak koeh Israel siangpahrang Ahaziah hoiah angkom.
Yet, after this, did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, —he, was lawless in his doings;
36 Anih loe Tarshish vangpui ah kacaeh palongpui to sak hanah Israel siangpahrang hoiah angkom; nihnik loe Ezion-Gezer ah palongpui to a sak hoi.
and he joined with him, to make ships to go unto Tarshish, —and they made ships in Ezion-geber,
37 Mareshah ih kami Dodavah capa Eliezer mah, Jehosaphat koeh aihaih lok to thuih; Ahaziah hoiah nang kom pongah, Angraeng mah na sak ih hmuen to phrae tih, tiah a naa. Palongpuinawk loe amro moe, Tarshish vangpui ah doeh caeh hoi thai ai.
Then prophesied, Eliezer son of Dodavahu of Mareshah, against Jehoshaphat, saying, —Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, Yahweh hath broken in pieces thy works. So the ships were wrecked, and were not able to go unto Tarshish.
