< 2 Dungkrhoekhaih 2 >

1 Solomon loe Angraeng ih ahmin hanah im hoi siangpahrang ohhaih im to sak atim.
And Solomon determined to build an house for the name of the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.
2 Solomon mah toksah kami sing sarih, mae nuiah thing pakhruh kami sing tazet, toksah kami khenzawnkung sing thum, cumvai tarukto suek.
And Solomon told out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.
3 Solomon mah Tura siangpahrang Huram khaeah, Nang loe kam pa David mah siangpahrang im sak hanah sidar thing na paek baktih toengah, kai han doeh na paek toeng ah, tiah lokpat.
And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, [even so deal with me].
4 Khenah, Israel kaminawk mah dungzan ah sak ih baktih toengah, Sithaw hmaa ah hmuihoih thlaek moe, kaciim takaw tathlangh hanah, Sabbath ni hoi khrah kangtha ninawk ah, kaicae ih Angraeng Sithaw ni kruek ah, aduem akhawn, zae angbawnhaih paek hanah, ka Angraeng Sithaw ih ahmin hanah im to ka sak.
Behold, I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate [it] to him, [and] to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This [is an ordinance] for ever to Israel.
5 Kaicae ih Sithaw loe kalah sithawnawk pongah len baktih toengah, ka sak han ih im doeh paroeai len tih.
And the house which I build [is] great: for great [is] our God above all gods.
6 Toe mi mah maw anih han im to sah pae thai tih, kasang koek vannawk ih van mataeng doeh anih oh haih hanah acaeh ai! A hmaa ah angbawnhaih hmuen tathlang khue ai ah loe, kai loe kawbaktih kami ah maw ka oh moe, anih han im ka sah pae thai tih?
But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who [am] I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?
7 To pongah sui, sumkanglung, sumkamling sah kop kami, kahni kamling hup, kathim hoi kam-iing sah kop kaminawk, kam pa David mah Jerusalem hoi Judah vangpuinawk ah suek ih, kai khae kaom hmuenmae sah kop kaminawk hoi nawnto toksak hanah, to baktih hmuen sah kop kami to na patoeh ah.
Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that [are] with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.
8 Sidar thing, hmaica thing hoi algum thing doeh Lebanon ah pakhruh ah loe, na pat ah; na tamnanawk loe Lebanon ih thing pakruh kop kami ah oh o, tiah ka thaih; ka tamnanawk loe na tamnanawk hoi nawnto toksah o tih.
Send me also cedar trees, fir trees, and algum trees, out of Lebanon: for I know that thy servants can skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants [shall be] with thy servants,
9 Ka sak han ih im loe paroeai len ueloe, dawnrai koi im ah om tih, to pongah thing paroeai kang toeng.
Even to prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I am about to build [shall be] wonderful great.
10 Khenah, thing pakhruh na tamnanawk hanah cangni kor sing hnetto, barli cangni kor sing hnetto, misurtui bath sing hnetto hoi olive situi bath sing hnetto ka paek han, tiah a naa.
And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.
11 Tura siangpahrang Huram mah, Solomon khaeah, Angraeng mah angmah ih kaminawk to palung pongah, nang to nihcae ih siangpahrang ah ang suek boeh, tiah a naa.
Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because the LORD hath loved his people, he hath made thee king over them.
12 Huram mah, Long hoi van sahkung, Israel Angraeng Sithaw loe pakoehhaih om nasoe, anih mah, Angraeng hanah im to sak moe, siangpahrang im sak hanah, David khaeah palungha capa to paek boeh, anih hanah panoekhaih hoi khopoek thaihaih doeh a paek, tiah ca palaem pae.
Huram said moreover, Blessed [be] the LORD God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, that might build an house for the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.
13 Hmuenmae sakhaih bangah paroeai kop, Huram-Abi to nang khaeah kang patoeh,
And now I have sent a cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father’s,
14 anih ih amno loe Dan nongpata ah oh moe, ampa loe Tura kami ah oh; anih loe sui hoi sumkanglung, sumkamling, sum, thlung hoi thing tok sah thaih kami, kahni kamling hup, kathim, kam-iing hoi puu kahni sah kop kami ah oh: hmuenmae congca krang soihaih kop kami ah oh, kawbaktih hmuen doeh a sak thai boih. Anih loe sak han koi tok to na tamnanawk, ka angraeng nam pa David ih tamnanawk hoi nawnto toksah tih.
The son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father [was] a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord David thy father.
15 To pongah vaihiah ka angraeng nangmah na thuih ih lok baktih toengah, na tamnanawk hanah cangni, barli cangni, olive situi hoi misurtui to pat paeh.
Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants:
16 Lebanon ih thing to nang toeng zetto ka pakhruk o han; qophong ah ka sak o moe, tuipui lam hoiah Joppa khoek to kang thak o han; to ahmuen hoiah Jerusalem ah na phaw tih hmang, tiah a naa.
And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need: and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem.
17 Ampa David mah Israel prae thungah kaom prae kalah kaminawk ih ahmin to pakuem baktih toengah, Solomon mah doeh cazin to lak let; sangqum boih ah kami sang cumvai, sing panga, sang thumto pacoengah, cumvai tarukto oh o.
And Solomon numbered all the strangers that [were] in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred.
18 Hmuenmae phawh hanah kami sing sarihto kawk moe, mae nui ih thing to pakhruk hanah kami sing tazetto a suek; toksah kaminawk khenzawnkung ah kami sang thum, cumvai tarukto a suek.
And he set threescore and ten thousand of them [to be] bearers of burdens, and fourscore thousand [to be] hewers in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people a work.
