1 Angraeng ih Muithla loe Oded capa Azariah nuiah angzoh;
The Spirit of God came on Azariah the son of Oded.
2 Azariah loe Asa siangpahrang tongh hanah caeh, anih khaeah, Asa siangpahrang, Judahnawk hoi Benjamin kaminawk boih, ka lok hae tahngai oh; Angraeng khaeah na oh o nahaeloe, Angraeng doeh nangcae khaeah om tih; anih to na pakrong o nahaeloe, na hnu o tih; toe anih to na pahnawt o nahaeloe, anih mah doeh na pahnawt o toeng tih.
He went out to meet Asa, and said to him, “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin! Yahweh is with you while you are with him; and if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.
3 Atue paroeai thung Israel kaminawk loe Sithaw tangtang tawn o ai, patukkung qaima tawn o ai moe, daan doeh tawn ai ah khosak o.
Now for a long time Israel was without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law.
4 Toe patangkhang o naah loe, Israel Angraeng Sithaw khaeah amlaem o let; anih to pakrong o naah nihcae mah hnuk o.
But when in their distress they turned to Yahweh, the God of Israel, and sought him, he was found by them.
5 To nathuem ah kholong caeh kaminawk hanah, monghaih roe om ai; prae thung boih ah poek anghmanghaih to oh.
In those times there was no peace to him who went out, nor to him who came in; but great troubles were on all the inhabitants of the lands.
6 Sithaw mah congca patangkhanghaih hoi raihaih to paek pongah, prae maeto hoi maeto, vangpui maeto hoi maeto misa angthawk o.
They were broken in pieces, nation against nation, and city against city; for God troubled them with all adversity.
7 Toe nangcae mah tha pathok oh, bantha zok o sak hmah; na sak o ih tok baktih toengah tangqum na hnu o tih, tiah a naa.
But you be strong! Don’t let your hands be slack, for your work will be rewarded.”
8 Asa mah hae loknawk hoi tahmaa Oded mah thuih ih lok to thaih naah, tha ohsak moe, Judah prae, Benjamin prae hoi Ephraim mae nuiah lak ih vangpuinawk thung boih hoiah, panuet thok krangnawk to vah king; anih mah Angraeng im hmaa ah kaom, Angraeng ih hmaicam to pathoep let.
When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from the hill country of Ephraim; and he renewed Yahweh’s altar that was before Yahweh’s porch.
9 To pacoengah Judah kaminawk, Benjamin kaminawk, Ephraim kaminawk, Manaseh kaminawk hoi Simeon kaminawk to nawnto amkhuengsak boih; Asa khaeah Angraeng Sithaw oh, tiah Israel kaminawk boih mah panoek o naah, anih khaeah angzoh o.
He gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those who lived with them out of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon; for they came to him out of Israel in abundance when they saw that Yahweh his God was with him.
10 Asa siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hatlaipangato haih, khrah thumto naah, Jerusalem vangpui ah amkhueng o.
So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign.
11 Misa khae hoi lak o ih maitaw cumvai sarihto hoi tuu sang sarihto Angraeng khaeah angbawnhaih ah paek o.
They sacrificed to Yahweh in that day, of the plunder which they had brought, seven hundred head of cattle and seven thousand sheep.
12 Angmacae poekhaih palungthin boih hoiah ampanawk ih Angraeng Sithaw to pakrong hanah lokmaihaih thungah akun o;
They entered into the covenant to seek Yahweh, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul;
13 mi kawbaktih doeh Israel Angraeng Sithaw pakrong ai kami loe, kathoeng kalen tih ai, nongpa nongpata tih ai, paduek han oh tiah,
and that whoever would not seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
14 Angraeng khaeah tha hoi hanghaih, mongkah ueng moe, tuu taki bohhaih hoiah lokkamhaih a sak o.
They swore to Yahweh with a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets, and with cornets.
15 Nihcae loe palungthin boih hoi lokkam o pongah, Judah kaminawk boih anghoe o; koehhaih palungthin hoiah Angraeng to pakrong o pongah, Anih to hnuk o; Angraeng mah nihcae hanah ahmuen kruek hoi monghaih to paek.
All Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found by them. Then Yahweh gave them rest all around.
16 Siangpahrang Asa ih amsae nongpata Makaah mah Asherah thingkung tlim ah panuet thok krang to sak pongah, siangpahrang nongpata ah angdoethaih ahmuen hoiah takhoe ving; Asa mah krang to pakhoih pae boih, khok hoiah atit pae moe, Kidron ah hmai hoiah a thlaek.
Also Maacah, the mother of Asa the king, he removed from being queen mother, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; so Asa cut down her image, ground it into dust, and burned it at the brook Kidron.
17 Toe Israel prae thung hoiah hmuensangnawk to takhoe boih ai, toe Asa loe a hing thung Angraeng khaeah poekhaih to paek.
But the high places were not taken away out of Israel; nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
18 Angmah hoi ampa mah paek ih sui, sumkanglung hoi laom sabaenawk to Angraeng im thungah a sin boih.
He brought the things that his father had dedicated and that he himself had dedicated, silver, gold, and vessels into God’s house.
19 Asa singpahrang ah ohhaih saning quithum, pangato thung prae thungah misa angtukhaih om ai.
There was no more war to the thirty-fifth year of Asa’s reign.
