< 2 Dungkrhoekhaih 13 >
1 Jeroboam singpahrang ah ohhaih saning hatlaitazetto naah, Abijah Judah siangpahrang ah oh amtong.
In the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.
2 Anih mah Jerusalem to saning thumto thung uk. Anih ih amno loe Gibeah kami, Uriel ih canu, Mikhaiah. To naah Abijah hoi Jeroboem loe misa ah oh hoi.
Three years reigned he in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
3 Abijah loe a qoih ih misatuh kami sang cumvai palito hoiah misa tuk, Jeroboam doeh a qoih ih misatuh thaih kami sang cumvai tazetto hoiah misa tuk toeng.
And Abijah joined battle with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: and Jeroboam set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, who were mighty men of valour.
4 Abijah loe Ephraim mae ah kaom, Zemaraim mae nuiah angdoet moe, Jeroboam hoi Israel kaminawk boih, ka lok hae tahngai oh!
And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, Hear me, O Jeroboam and all Israel;
5 Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah paloi hoi lokkamhaih sak baktih toengah, Israel prae to David hoi a caanawk hanah dungzan khoek to paek boeh, tiah na panoek o ai maw?
Ought ye not to know that the LORD, the God of Israel, gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
6 Toe David capa Solomon ih tamna, Nebat capa Jeroboam loe angthawk moe, angmah ih angraeng to tuk.
Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up, and rebelled against his lord.
7 Solomon capa Rehoboam loe poekhaih nawkta moe, misatuh thai ai naah, tidoeh avang ai kami hnukbang kaminawk mah amkhueng o moe, Rehoboam to tuk o.
And there were gathered unto him vain men, sons of Belial, which strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tender-hearted, and could not withstand them.
8 Vaihi David ih caanawk ban ah kaom, Angraeng ih prae to tuk hanah nam sak o; misatuh kami paroeai na tawnh o, Jeroboam mah sithawnawk hanah, sui hoiah ang sak pae o ih, maitawnawk doeh na tawnh o.
And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made you for gods.
9 Angraeng ih qaimanawk, Aaron ih capanawk hoi Levinawk to na haek o moe, prae kalah kaminawk mah sak o ih hmuen baktih toengah, nangmacae hanah qaima na suek o na ai maw? Saning kanawk maitaw tae maeto, tuucaa sarihto hoiah angbawnhaih sak han angzo kami to, sithaw ah kaom ai hmuennawk khaeah qaima tok to na sak o sak.
Have ye not driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the peoples of [other] lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of [them that are] no gods.
10 Angraeng loe kaicae hanah Sithaw ah oh pongah, kaicae loe Anih to ka pahnawt o ai; Aaron ih capanawk loe Angraeng toksah qaima ah oh o, Levinawk doeh angmacae ih tok to sak o.
But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and [we have] priests ministering unto the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites in their work:
11 Aduem akhawn angbawnhaih sak o moe, Angraeng hmaa ah hmuihoih tui to a thlaek o; kaciim caboi nuiah takaw a suek o moe, aduem kruek hmai pa-aanghaih sui tung pongah hmai-im to paaang o; kaicae ih Angraeng Sithaw mah hnik ih hmuennawk to ka sak o boih; toe nangcae loe Angraeng to na pahnawt o ving boeh.
and they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt offerings and sweet incense: the shewbread also [set they] in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.
12 Khenah, kaicae khaeah Sithaw oh moe, anih loe kaicae zaehoikung ah oh; anih ih qaimanawk loe nangcae tuk hanah mongkah to ueng o tih; Aw Israel caanawk, nam panawk ih Angraeng Sithaw to tuh o hmah; na pazawk o mak ai, tiah a naa.
And, behold, God is with us at our head, and his priests with the trumpets of alarm to sound an alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD, the God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.
13 Toe Jeroboam mah Judah kaminawk to ahnukbang hoiah takui hanah angmah ih misatuh kaminawk to patoeh boeh; anih loe Judahnawk hmaa ah oh nathuem ah, nihcae to a hnuk bang hoiah ven o khoep boeh.
But Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambushment was behind them.
14 Judahnawk hnukbang angqoi o naah, khenah, misanawk mah ahnuk ahmaa takui khoep boeh, tiah panoek o; to naah Angraeng khaeah hang o, qaimanawk mah mongkah to uengh o.
And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind them: and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
15 Judah kaminawk hangh o; tha hoi a hangh o naah, Sithaw mah Jeroboam hoi Israelnawk to Abijah hoi Judahnawk hmaa hoiah cawnsak boih.
Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
16 Israelnawk loe Judahnawk hmaa ah cawnh o; Sithaw mah nihcae to Judahnawk ban ah paek.
And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.
17 Abijah hoi anih ih kaminawk mah nihcae to hum o moe, paroeai duek o; qoih ih Israelcaanawk sang cumvai pangato duek o.
And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.
18 Misa angtuk naah Israel kaminawk to sung o; Judahnawk loe angmacae ampanawk ih, Angraeng Sithaw nuiah amha o pongah misa pazawk o.
Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD, the God of their fathers.
19 Abijah mah Jeroboam to patom moe, Bethel, Jeshanah hoi Ephraim vangpuinawk to lak pae.
And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Beth-el with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephron with the towns thereof.
20 Jeroboam loe Abijah dung thungah thacak thai ai boeh; Angraeng mah anih to hum moe, duek.
Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD smote him, and he died.
21 Toe Abijah loe thacak aep aep; zu hatlai palito a lak moe, capa pumphae hnetto hoi canu hatlai tarukto sak.
But Abijah waxed mighty, and took unto himself fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
22 Abijah siangpahrang toksakhaihnawk, a sak ih hmuennawk hoi a thuih ih loknawk boih loe tahmaa Iddo ih ruici cabu thungah tarik o.
And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the commentary of the prophet Iddo.
