1 Thesalonika 5
1 Toe nawkamyanawk, atue hoi aninawk nangcae khaeah ka tarik han angai ai.
But concerning the times and seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write to you;
2 Angraeng ih ni loe aqum ah angzo kamqu baktiah angzo tih, tito kamtueng ah na panoek o boeh.
for you yourselves know well, that the day of the Lord is so coming like a thief in the night.
3 Nihcae mah misa amdinghaih hoi khosak hoihaih ka tawnh o boeh, tiah thuih o pongah, poek ai pui hoiah zokpomh nongpata nuiah kaom nathaih baktiah nihcae nuiah amrohaih to pha tih, nihcae loe loih o thai mak ai.
When they may say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes on them, as travail upon a woman in gestation; and they can not escape.
4 Toe nawkamyanawk, nangcae loe khoving thungah kaom kami ai pongah, hae tiah tamquta hoi kangzo Ani mah na kae o ma kai.
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day may overtake you like a thief:
5 Nangcae loe aanghaih caa, khodai ih caa ah ni na oh o boih: aicae loe khoving kami na ai ni, aqum ih kami ah doeh a om o ai.
for you are all the sons of light, and the sons of day: we are not of night, nor of darkness;
6 To pongah aicae loe minawk baktiah iip o hmah si; hakhaih hoiah zing o si.
then therefore let us not sleep like the rest, but watch and be sober.
7 Iip kaminawk loe khoving ah ni iih o; mu paqui kaminawk doeh khoving ah ni paqui o.
For those sleeping, sleep in the night; and those who are drunken, get drunk in the night:
8 Toe aicae loe khodai caa ah a oh o pongah, tanghaih hoi amlunghaih ah kaom saoek padaphaih aphaw to angkhuk o si loe, pahlong hanah oephaih ah kaom lumuek angmuekhaih hoiah pakaa o si.
but let us, who are of the day, be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and divine love; and the helmet, the hope of salvation:
9 Sithaw palungphuihaih aicae nuiah kraih hanah aicae to qoi ai, aicae Angraeng Jesu Kri rang hoiah pahlonghaih a hnuk o han ih ni ang qoih,
because God did not put us forth unto wrath, but unto the obtainment of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 aicae a hak o maw, to tih ai boeh loe a iih o maw, Angmah hoi nawnto a hingh o thai hanah, Anih loe aicae zuengah duek.
the one having died for us, in order that, whether we are awake or asleep, we shall at the same time live with him.
11 To pongah vaihi na sak o ih baktih toengah, maeto hoi maeto tha angpaek oh loe, hmacawn hanah maeto hoi maeto angbomh oh.
Therefore exhort one another, and edify either the other, as you indeed are doing.
12 Nawkamyanawk, nangcae salakah Angraeng toksah kami, nangcae zaehoikung hoi thuitaekkungnawk na pahnet o han ai ah kang pacae o;
But we intreat you, brethren, to know those who are laboring among you, and standing before you in the Lord, and admonishing you;
13 a sak o ih tok pongah amlunghaih hoi khingyahaih to paek oh. Maeto hoi maeto angdaehhaih hoiah khosah oh.
and that you yourselves esteem them exceedingly in divine love for the sake of their work. Live in peace among yourselves.
14 Nawkamyanawk, zaehhoihhaih daan baktiah khosah ai kaminawk to thuitaek oh, poek cak ai kaminawk to thapaek oh loe, thahnaem kaminawk to abomh oh, kami boih nuiah palungsawkhaih na tawnh o thai hanah tha kang paek o.
And we, exhort you, brethren, admonish the unruly, comfort the small-souled people, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.
15 Mi khaeah doeh zaehaih to zaehaih baktiah pathok o hmah; nangmacae hoi kaminawk boih salakah kahoih hmuen sak han patom oh.
See that no one may return evil for evil to any one; but always pursue good toward one another, and toward all.
16 Anghoe o poe ah.
Rejoice evermore;
17 Boeng ai ah lawkthui oh.
pray without ceasing;
18 Hmuen boih ah kawnhaih lawk to thui oh: hae loe nangcae han Kri Jesu ah Sithaw koehhaih ah oh.
in every thing give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus towards you.
19 Muithla to paduek o hmah.
Quench not the Spirit;
20 Lok taphonghaih to patoek o hmah.
despise not prophesying;
21 Tih boih tanoek oh loe, kahoih to kacakah tapom oh.
but prove all things; and hold fast to the beautiful;
22 Kahoih ai hmuennawk boih to ayae oh.
abstain from every evil sight.
23 Angdaehhaih Sithaw angmah roe na ciimcai o sak boih nasoe; aicae Angraeng Jesu Kri angzoh naah, nangcae ih muithla, poekhaih palungthin hoi takpum boih coek koi om ai ah suem nasoe.
And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless, in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Nangcae kawkkung Anih loe oepthoh, sah doeh sah tangtang tih.
Faithful is the one calling you, who indeed will do it.
25 Nawkamyanawk, kaicae han lawk na thui pae oh.
Brethren, pray for us.
26 Nawkamyanawk boih kaciim mokhaih hoiah ban angsin oh.
Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27 Hae ca hae kaciim nawkamyanawk boih khaeah kroek pae hanah Angraeng ih ahmin hoiah kang pacae o.
I adjure you in the name of the Lord, that this epistle shall be read to all the brethren.
28 Aicae Angraeng Jesu Kri tahmenhaih nangcae khaeah om nasoe. Amen.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
