< 1 Samuel 7 >
1 To pongah Kiriath Jearim vangpui ih kaminawk angzoh o tathuk moe, Angraeng ih thingkhong to lak o; Abinadab ih im ohhaih mae nuiah suek o moe, Angraeng ih thingkhong khetzawn hanah a capa Eleazar to ciimcai o sak.
The men of Kiriath Jearim came and took up the ark of the LORD and brought it into the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.
2 Angraeng ih thingkhong loe saning pumphae karoek to, Kiriath Jearim ah oh naah, Israel kaminawk boih, Angraeng to poek o moe, palungset o.
It happened, from the day that the ark stayed in Kiriath Jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
3 To naah Samuel mah Israel imthung takoh boih khaeah, Prae kalah kaminawk ih sithawnawk hoi Ashtaroth sithawnawk to na pahnawt o moe, palungthin boih hoi Angraeng khaeah nam laem o let pacoengah, Angraeng khaeah poekhaih nang paek o moe, anih ih tok khue to na sak o nahaeloe, Philistin kaminawk ban thung hoiah anih mah na loisak tih, tiah a naa.
Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you do return to the LORD with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts to the LORD, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."
4 To pongah Israel kaminawk mah Baal sithaw hoi Ashtaroth sithawnawk to pahnawt o moe, Angraeng ih tok khue to a sak o.
Then the children of Israel removed the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
5 To naah Samuel mah, Israel kaminawk boih Mizpah vangpui ah amkhueng oh, nangcae han Angraeng khaeah tahmenhaih kang hnik pae han, tiah a naa.
Samuel said, "Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray for you to the LORD."
6 To pongah kaminawk loe Mizpah vangpui ah amkhueng o, tui to dok o moe, Angraeng hmaa ah kraih o; to na niah buhzah o moe, Angraeng hmaa ah ka zae o moeng boeh, tiah zaehaih to taphong o. Samuel loe Mizpah vangpui ah Israel kaminawk zaehoikung ah oh.
They gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said, "We have sinned against the LORD." Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.
7 Israel kaminawk Mizpah ah amkhueng o, tiah Philistinnawk mah thaih o naah, Philistin ukkungnawk loe Israel kaminawk tuk hanah caeh o. To lok to Israel kaminawk mah thaih o naah, Philistinnawk to zit o.
When the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. When the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
8 To pongah Israel kaminawk mah Samuel khaeah, Angraeng Sithaw mah kaicae hae Philtinnawk ban thung hoiah pahlong thai hanah, apet ai ah kaicae han lawkthui paeh, tiah a naa o.
The children of Israel said to Samuel, "Do not cease to cry to the LORD your God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines."
9 To naah Samuel mah tahnu nae li tuucaa to lak moe, Angraeng khaeah a takpum boih hmai angbawnhaih ah paek; Israel kaminawk hanah, Samuel mah Angraeng khaeah lawkthuih naah, anih lawkthuihaih lok to Angraeng mah tahngai pae.
Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered it for a whole burnt offering to the LORD: and Samuel cried to the LORD for Israel; and the LORD answered him.
10 Samuel mah angbawnhaih sak li naah, Philistinnawk loe Israel kaminawk tuk hanah anghnaih o aep aep boeh; toe to na niah Angraeng mah Philistinnawk to khopazih tuen hoiah kah, to naah nihcae to ampraek o phang moe, Israel kaminawk hmaa ah sung o.
As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel; but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day on the Philistines, and confused them; and they were struck down before Israel.
11 Israel kaminawk loe Mizpah vangpui hoiah tacawt o moe, Philistinnawk to hum o; nihcae to Beth-Kar karoek to patom o.
The men of Israel went out of Mizpah, and pursued the Philistines, and struck them, as far as below Beth Kar.
12 Angraeng mah vaihi khoek to aicae ang bomh, tiah a thuih o pongah, Samuel mah thlung maeto lak moe, Mizpah hoi Shen salakah tlingh; to ahmuen to Ebenezer, tiah ahmin sak.
Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpah and Jashan, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, "The LORD helped us until now."
13 Philistinnawk pazawk o pacoengah loe Israel prae thungah angzo o let ai boeh. Samuel hing thung, Angraeng ih ban mah Philistin kaminawk to tuk.
So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more within the territory of Israel. The hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14 Philistinnawk mah Israel kaminawk khae hoiah lak o ih vangpuinawk to Ekkron hoi Gath karoek to paek o let; vangpui taeng ih praenawk doeh Israelnawk mah Philistinnawk khae hoiah lak o let. Israel kaminawk hoi Ammor kaminawk salakah doeh angdaehhaih to oh.
The cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and Israel recovered its territory out of the hand of the Philistines. There was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15 Samuel loe hing thung Israel kaminawk ukkung ah oh.
Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16 Anih loe saning kruek, Bethel vangpui, Gilgal vangpui, Mizpah vangpui karoek to caeh moe, to ahmuennawk boih ah Israel kaminawk ih lokcaekkung ah oh.
He went from year to year in circuit to Bethel and Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.
17 Toe anih loe a ohhaih ahmuen, Ramah ah amlaem let moe, to ahmuen ah doeh Israel kaminawk ih lokcaekkung ah oh; to ahmuen ah Angraeng han hmaicam to a sak.
His return was to Ramah, for there was his house; and there he judged Israel: and he built there an altar to the LORD.
