< 1 Samuel 6 >

1 Angraeng ih thingkhong loe Philistin prae thungah khrah sarihto oh.
And the ark of the Lord was in the fields of the Philistines seven months.
2 To naah Philistinnawk loe qaimanawk hoi hmabang angzo han koi hmuen khen kop kaminawk to kawk o moe, Angraeng ih thingkhong to kawbangmaw ka sak o han? Angmah ohhaih ahmuen ah maw ka thak o let han, na thui oh, tiah a naa o.
And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do with the ark of the Lord? let us know wherewith we shall send off it to its place.
3 Nihcae mah, Israael kaminawk ih Sithaw thingkhong na thak o let nahaeloe, bangkrai ah thak o hmah; zae angbawnhaih sak hanah hmuen paekhaih hoiah thak oh; to tiah ni ngan na tui o thai ueloe, tipongah maw anih ih ban nangcae khae hoi azuk ai, tiah na panoek o tih, tiah a naa o.
And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not away empty; but ye must to a certainty return him a trespass-offering: then will ye be healed, and it will be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.
4 Philistinnawk mah, Kawbaktih zae angbawnhaih hmuen paekhaih maw ka pat pae o han? tiah a naa o. Nihcae mah, Philistin ukkung angraeng zetto, sui hoi sak ih krang pangato, sui hoi sak ih pazu krang pangato paek oh; nangcae hoi nangcae ukkungnawk mah na tongh o ih nathaih loe maeto ah ni oh.
And they said, What shall be the trespass-offering that we shall return to him? And they answered, According to the number of the lords of the Philistines, five golden hemorrhoids, and five golden mice; for one plague affected them all, and your lords.
5 Ahlut krang hoi na prae paro pazu krangnawk to sah oh loe, Israel Sithaw lensawkhaih to pakoeh oh; to tiah nahaeloe nangcae, na sithawnawk hoi na prae thung hoiah anih ih ban to azuk let khoe doeh om tih.
Therefore make images of your hemorrhoids, and images of your mice that devastate the land; and give glory unto the God of Israel: perhaps he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
6 Tipongah Izip kaminawk hoi Faro baktiah palung na thah o loe? Israel Angraeng mah nihcae to kana parai ah thuitaek naah, Egypt kaminawk mah Israel kaminawk a prae thung hoiah tacawt o sak moe, a caeh o sak talai na ai maw?
And why will ye harden your heart, just as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their heart? Did not they, when he had wrought wonderful deeds among them, dismiss them, and they departed?
7 Vaihi maitaw leeng kangtha to sah oh loe, a caa tahnu paek li mawitaw amno hnetto to hoi o ah; a nuiah hmuen phawhhaih thing koeng o hmah; maitaw amno to maitaw leeng pongah pathlet oh loe, maitaw caa to loe im ah hoi o ving ah.
And now make a new wagon, and take two milch-cows, on which there hath come no yoke, and harness the cows to the wagon, and bring their calves home away from them:
8 Angraeng ih thingkhong to la oh loe, maitaw leeng nuiah suem oh; zae angbawnhaih sak han paek ih hmuen baktih toengah, sui hoi sak ih ahlut krang hoi pazu krangnawk to Sithaw thingkhong taengah suem oh loe, thak oh.
And take the ark of the Lord, and place it into the wagon; and the articles of gold, which ye return him as a trespass-offering, ye must put in a casket alongside of it; and then send it away, that it may go.
9 Angmah prae caehhaih Beth-Shemesh bangah Sithaw ih thingkhong to caeh nahaeloe, a tongh o ih hae baktih kasae loe Angraeng mah ni ohsak; toe to bangah ni caeh ai nahaeloe, anih ih ban hoiah aicae hae hum ai, hae raihaih loe a tongh o han ih aimacae taham raihaih ah ni om tih, tiah a naa o.
And then see, if it go up by the way to its own boundary, to Beth-shemesh, then hath he done us this great evil; but if not, then shall we know that not his hand hath smitten us; it is a chance which hath happened to us.
10 To pongah kaminawk mah to tiah sak o; a thuih o ih baktih toengah a caa tahnu panae li maitaw amno hnetto a lak o moe, maitaw leeng pongah pathlet o; a caa hnik loe im ah paung o caeng.
And the men did so; and they took two milch-cows, and harnessed them to the wagon, and their calves they shut up at home:
11 Angraeng ih thingkhong to maitaw leeng nuiah suek o; a taeng ih thingkhong thungah loe sui hoiah sak ih pazu krang hoi ahlut krangnawk to suek o.
And they placed the ark of the Lord in the wagon, and the casket with the mice of gold and images of their hemorrhoids.
12 To naah maitaw hnik loe Beth-Shemesh vangpui bangah katoeng ah caeh hoi poe; banqoi bantang amkhraeng ai ah, lampui ah caeh o poe; Philistin ukkungnawk loe Beth-Shemesh vangpui khoek to bang o.
And the cows went straight forward on the way on the road to Beth-shemesh: on one highway they did go along, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them as far as the border of Beth-shemesh.
13 To naah Beth-Shemeseh vangpui ih kaminawk loe, azawn ah cang aah o li vop; a khet o tahang naah, Sithaw thingkhong to hnuk o; a hnuk o ih hmuen pongah anghoe o.
And they of Beth-shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley; and when they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, they rejoiced to see it.
14 Maitaw leeng loe Beth-Shemesh vangpui kami, Joshua ih lawk ah angzoh moe, kalen parai lungsong taengah anghak; kaminawk mah maitaw leeng thingnawk to boeng o moe, maitaw to Angraeng khaeah angbawnhaih ah sak o.
And the wagon came to the field of Joshua, the Beth-shemite, and stood still there; and there was a great stone; and they split the wood of the wagon, and the cows they offered as a burnt-offering unto the Lord.
15 Levinawk mah Angraeng ih thingkhong to lak o, kalah thingkhong thungah kaom sui hoi sak ih hmuennawk doeh a lak o pacoengah, lungsong nuiah koeng o; to na niah Beth-Shemesh vangpui kaminawk mah, angbawnhaih to sak o moe, Angraeng khaeah angbawnhaih hmuen to tathlang o.
And the Levites took down the ark of the Lord, and the casket that was with it, wherein were the articles of gold, and put them on the great stone; and the men of Beth-shemesh offered bunt-offerings and sacrificed sacrifices on the same day unto the Lord.
16 Philistin ukkung pangatonawk mah to tiah angbawnhaih to hnuk o pacoeng, to na niah Ekron vangpui ah amlaem o let.
And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to 'Ekron on the same day.
17 Philistin kaminawk mah Angraeng khaeah pat pae o let ih, zae angbawnhaih hmuen ah kaom, sui hoiah sak ih ahlut baktiah kacong kuk krangnawk to Ashdod vangpui ah maeto, Gaza vangpui ah maeto, Ashkelon vangpui ah maeto, Gath vangpui ah maeto, Ekron vangpui ah maeto, a pat pae o boih.
And these are the golden hemorrhoids which the Philistines returned as a trespass-offering unto the Lord: For Ashdod one, for Gazzah one, for Ashkelon one, for Gath one, for 'Ekron one.
18 Philistin kaminawk ih avang, ukkung angraeng pangatonawk ohhaih ahmuen, sipae hoi thungh ih vangpuinawk zetto ah sui hoi sak ih pazu krangnawk to pat pae o. Angraeng ih thingkhong suekhaih kalen parai Abel ih thlung loe, Beth-Shemesh vangpui kami, Joshua lawk ah vaihni ni khoek to hnukung ah oh.
And the golden mice were according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines under the five lords, from the fortified city, down to the open village, even unto the great stone whereon they had set down the ark of the Lord, and which is unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Beth-shemite.
19 Toe nihcae mah Angraeng ih thingkhong athung bang to khet o pongah, Sithaw mah Beth-Shemesh vangpui ih kami sing panga, quisarihto dueksak; Angraeng mah nihcae nuiah kana parai ah danpaek moe, kami paroeai hum pongah, kaminawk loe palungset o.
And he smote among the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, namely, he smote among the people seventy men and fifty thousand men: and the people mourned because the Lord had caused among the people a great slaughter.
20 To pongah Beth-Shemesh ih kaminawk mah, Hae ih ciimcai Angraeng Sithaw hmaa ah mi maw angdoe thai tih? Hae thingkhong loe aicae khae hoi mi khaeah maw caeh tih? tiah a thuih o.
And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before the Lord, this holy God? and to whom shall it go up away from us?
21 To naah Kiriath Jearim vangpui ih kaminawk khaeah laicaeh to patoeh o moe, Philistinnawk mah Angraeng ih thingkhong to thak o let; angzo o tathuk loe, na ohhaih ahmuen ah sin oh, tiah thuih pae o.
And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kiryath-ye'arim, saying, The Philistines have brought back the ark of the Lord: come ye down, and fetch it up to you.
