< 1 Samuel 29 >
1 Philistin misatuh kaminawk boih, Aphek ah amkhueng o; Israel kaminawk loe Jezreel taeng ih tui ohhaih ahmuen ah atai o.
Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek; and the Israelites encamped by the spring which is in Jezreel.
2 Philistin ukkungnawk loe misatuh kami cumvaito, sangto ah tapraek o moe, caeh o; toe David hoi anih ih kaminawk loe Akhish siangpahrang hoi nawnto hnukah bang o.
The lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds and by thousands; and David and his men passed on in the rear with Achish.
3 Philistin misatuh angraengnawk mah, Hae ih Hebrunawk loe kawbangmaw oh o? tiah lokdueng o. Akhish mah, Philistin angraengnawk khaeah, David loe Israel siangpahrang Saul ih tamna ah oh, anih loe kai khaeah saningto pacoeng, vaihni ni khoek to oh boeh; kai khaeah ang cawnh pacoeng hoi vaihni ni khoek to a zaehaih tidoeh ka hnu ai vop, tiah a naa.
Then the princes of the Philistines said, “What about these Hebrews?” Achish said to the princes of the Philistines, “Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me these days, or rather these years? I have found no fault in him since he fell away until today.”
4 Toe Philistin misatuh angraengnawk loe anih nuiah palungphui o moe, To kami loe amlaem let nasoe; na paek ih a ohhaih ahmuen ah amlaem let nasoe; misatuk naah kaicae hoi nawnto caeh hmah nasoe; to tih ai nahaeloe misatuk naah kaicae hae na tuh lat tih; anih mah angmah ih angraeng palung tongsak hanah, aicae ih lu takroek lat mak ai maw?
But the princes of the Philistines were angry with him; and the princes of the Philistines said to him, “Make the man return, that he may go back to his place where you have appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he become an adversary to us. For with what should this fellow reconcile himself to his lord? Should it not be with the heads of these men?
5 Saul mah sangto hum moe, David mah sang hato hum, tiah kaminawk mah hnawhhaih hoiah laasak o thuih ih kami loe, hae David na ai maw? tiah a naa o.
Is not this David, of whom people sang to one another in dances, saying, ‘Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”
6 To pongah Akhish mah David to kawk moe, anih khaeah, Angraeng loe hing baktih toengah, nang loe katoeng ah kho na sak; kai hoi nawnto misatuk nathung na toksakhaih paroeai hoih; kai khaeah nang zoh tangsuek nathuem hoi kamtong vaihni ni khoek to na zaehaih tidoeh ka hnu ai; toe ukkungnawk mah nang to koeh o ai.
Then Achish called David and said to him, “As the LORD lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords do not favor you.
7 To pongah vaihi lunghoihta hoiah amlaem let ah; Philistin ukkungnawk koeh ai ih hmuen to sah hmah, tiah a naa.
Therefore now return, and go in peace, that you not displease the lords of the Philistines.”
David said to Achish, “But what have I done? What have you found in your servant so long as I have been before you to this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?”
9 Akhish mah David khaeah, Ka mikhnukah Sithaw ih van kami baktiah, ka hmaa ah na hoih, tiah ka panoek; toe Philistin misatuh angraengnawk mah, Anih loe misatuk naah kaicae hoi nawnto angzo hmah nasoe, tiah thuih o.
Achish answered David, “I know that you are good in my sight, as an angel of God. Notwithstanding, the princes of the Philistines have said, ‘He shall not go up with us to the battle.’
10 To pongah khawnbang khawnthaw ah angthawk loe, Nang hoi nawnto angzo na angraeng ih tamnanawk hoiah khawnbang khodai naah tacawt oh, tiah a naa.
Therefore now rise up early in the morning with the servants of your lord who have come with you; and as soon as you are up early in the morning and have light, depart.”
11 To pongah David hoi anih ih kaminawk loe khawnbang khawnthaw ah angthawk o moe, Philistin prae ah amlaem o let. Philisitinnawk loe Jezreel vangpui ah caeh o.
So David rose up early, he and his men, to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines; and the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
