1 Ampa David ih angraeng tangkhang pong anghnut hanah Solomon to situi bawh o boeh, tiah Tura siangpahrang Hiram mah thaih naah, anih loe David hoi ampui ah oh hoi pongah, Solomon khaeah a tamnanawk to patoeh.
And Chiram king of Tyre sent his servants to anoint Solomon in the room of David his father, because Chiram always loved David.
2 Solomon mah Hiram khaeah hae tiah lokpat;
And Solomon sent to Chiram, saying,
3 kampa David loe a taengah kaom misanawk to tuk tuektuek pongah, Angraeng mah a misanawk to a khok tlim ah suem boih ai karoek to, Angraeng ih ahmin oh hanah im to sah thai ai.
You knew my father David, that he could not build a house to the name of the Lord my God because of the wars that compassed him about, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.
4 Toe vaihi loe ka Angraeng Sithaw mah ahmuen kruek hoiah misa amdinghaih to ang paek boeh, misa hoi amro han koi om ai boeh.
And now the Lord my God has given me rest round about; there is no one plotting against [me], and there is no evil trespass [against me].
5 Angraeng mah kampa David khaeah, Nang zuengah na angraeng tangkhang pongah anghnut han ka suek ih, na capa mah ni ka hmin oh haih im to sah tih, tiah thuih baktih toengah, ka Angraeng Sithaw ih ahmin oh hanah im sak ka tim, tiah a naa.
And, behold, I intend to build a house to the name of the Lord my God, as the Lord God spoke to my father David, saying, Your son whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build a house to my name.
6 To pongah Lebanon ih sidar thing ang pakhruk pae o hanah thui paeh; ka tamnanawk loe na tamnanawk hoiah nawnto toksah o nasoe, na tamannawk hanah kangaih atho to ka paek han hmang; Sidon kaminawk baktiah thing pakhruh thaih kami kaicae thungah om o ai, tiah na panoek, tiah a naa.
And now command, and let [men] cut wood for me out of Libanus: and, behold, my servants [shall be] with your servants, and I will give you the wages of your service, according to all that you shall say, because you know that we have no one skilled in cutting timber like the Sidonians.
7 Solomon ih lok to Hiram mah thaih naah, paroeai palung anghoe moe, Vaihniah Sithaw khae tahamhoihaih om nasoe; hae ih kalen parai kaminawk uk hanah Anih mah David hanah palungha capa maeto paek boeh, tiah thuih.
And it came to pass, as soon as Chiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed [be] God today, who has given to David a wise son over this numerous people.
8 Hiram mah Solomon hanah lok palaem pae; nang pat ih lok to ka thaih boeh; nang toeng zetto sidar thing hoi hmaica thing to kang paek han hmang.
And he sent to Solomon, saying, I have listened concerning all that you have sent to me for: I will do all your will: [as for] timber of cedar and fir,
9 Ka tamnanawk mah thing to Lebanon hoi tuipui lam ah na thak o tih, to thing to qophong ah ka saksak moe, na koeh ih ahmuen ah tuipui lam hoiah kang zunsak han hmang; to ah phak naah nang mah la ah; toe ka imthung takoh kaminawk to buh pacah ah, tiah a naa.
my servants shall bring them down from Libanus to the sea: I will form them [into] rafts, [and bring them] to the place which you shall send to me [about]; and I will land them there, and you shall take [them] up: and you shall do my will, in giving bread to my household.
10 To tiah Solomon mah angtoeng ih sidar thing hoi hmaica thing to Hiram mah thak pae.
So Chiram gave to Solomon cedars, and fir trees, and all his desire.
11 Solomon mah saningto naah, Hiram imthung takoh caak hanah takaw dip noekhaih kor sing hnetto, situi tabu kor pumphaeto paek.
And Solomon gave to Chiram twenty thousand measures of wheat as food for his house, and twenty thousand baths of beaten oil thus Solomon gave to Chiram yearly.
12 Anih mah Solomon khaeah lokkamhaih sak baktih toengah, Angraeng mah Solomon to palunghahaih paek; Hiram hoi Solomon salakah angdaehhaih oh pongah, ampui ah oh hoi.
And the Lord gave wisdom to Solomon as he promised him; and there was peace between Chiram and Solomon, and they made a covenant between them.
13 Solomon loe Israel prae boih ah toksah kami to kok, sangqum boih ah kami sang quithumto oh o.
And the king raised a levy out of all Israel, and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14 Khrah thumto thungah Lebanon ah kami sang hato patoeh; nihcae loe Lebanon ah khrahto thung oh o, im ah khrah hnetto oh o; Adoniram loe to ih toksah khawngkung ah oh.
And he sent them to Libanus, ten thousand taking turn every month: they were a month in Libanus and two months at home: and Adoniram [was] over the levy.
15 Solomon mah hmuenmae puen kaminawk sang quisarihto, mae nuiah thing pakhruh kaminawk sing tazetto suek;
And Solomon had seventy thousand bearers of burdens, and eighty thousand hewers of stone in the mountain;
16 Solomon ih toksah angraengnawk pacoengah, toksah khenzawnkung sang thum, cumvai thumto a suek.
besides the rulers that were appointed over the works of Solomon, [there were] three thousand six hundred masters who wrought in the works.
17 Siangpahrang mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, im angdoethaih ahmuen sak hanah, kalen parai thlung, atho kanaa thlung hoi aah tangcae thlungnawk to a phawh o.
[And the king commanded and they ] [brought great stones, precious stones for the foundation of the house, and unhewn stones. ]
18 Solomon hoi Hiram ih bantok sah kop kaminawk loe, im sak hanah, Gebal kaminawk hoi nawnto thing hoi thlungnawk to a lak o.
And they prepared the stones and the timber [during] three years.
