1 Siangpahrang 19
1 Ahab mah Jezebel khaeah Elijah mah sak ih hmuennawk boih, tahmaanawk sumsen hoi hum boihhaih kawng to thuih pae.
And Ahab declareth to Jezebel all that Elijah did, and all how he slew all the prophets by the sword,
2 To pacoengah Jezebel mah, Khawnbang vaihi tue thuem ah na hum ih tahmaanawk baktih toengah, nang hae kang hum ai nahaeloe, sithawnawk mah ka nuiah kanung parai ah sah nasoe, tiah thuihsak hanah, Elijah khaeah laicaeh kami maeto patoeh.
and Jezebel sendeth a messenger unto Elijah, saying, 'Thus doth the gods, and thus do they add, surely about this time to-morrow, I make thy life as the life of one of them.'
3 Elijah loe zit pongah, angthawk moe, a hinghaih loih thai hanah, Judah prae Beersheba vangpui ah caeh; a tamna loe to ah caeh taak.
And he feareth, and riseth, and goeth for his life, and cometh in to Beer-Sheba, that [is] Judah's, and leaveth his young man there,
4 Angmah to loe nito lamcaeh haih praezaek ah caeh; imphokkung ohhaih ahmuen to phak naah, atlim ah anghnut; Aw Angraeng, khawt boeh; ka hinghaih hae la halat ah; kai loe kampanawk pongah ka hoih kue ai, tiah duek hanah lawk a thuih.
and he himself hath gone into the wilderness a day's Journey, and cometh and sitteth under a certain retem-tree, and desireth his soul to die, and saith, 'Enough, now, O Jehovah, take my soul, for I [am] not better than my fathers.'
5 To pacoengah thing tatlip ah angsong moe, a iih; khenah, van kami mah anih to sui; anih khaeah angthawk loe, caa ah, tiah a naa.
And he lieth down and sleepeth under a certain retem-tree, and lo, a messenger cometh against him, and saith to him, 'Rise, eat;'
6 A khet naah, hmai kamngaeh pongah paaem ih, takaw kae hoi naek hanah tuitabu maeto, a lu nuiah a hnuk. Anih loe caak moe, naek pacoengah angsong let.
and he looketh attentively, and lo, at his bolster a cake [baken on] burning stones, and a dish of water, and he eateth, and drinketh, and turneth, and lieth down.
7 Van kami to angzoh let, anih to sui moe, anih khaeah, Angthawk loe, caa ah, na caeh han koi loklam loe angthla parai, tiah a naa.
And the messenger of Jehovah turneth back a second time, and cometh against him, and saith, 'Rise, eat, for the way is too great for thee;'
8 Anih loe angthawk moe, a caak a naek let; to buhcaakhaih mah tha ohsak pongah, aqum athun ni quipalito thung, Sithaw mae, Horeb pha ai karoek to lamcaeh.
and he riseth, and eateth, and drinketh, and goeth in the power of that food forty days and forty nights, unto the mount of God — Horeb.
9 To ahmuen to a phak naah, thlungkhaw thungah akun moe, to ah a iih. Khenah, Angraeng ih lok Elijah khaeah angzoh; anih khaeah, Elijah, hae ah timaw na sak? tiah a naa.
And he cometh in there, unto the cave, and lodgeth there, and lo, the word of Jehovah [is] unto him, and saith to him, 'What — to thee, here, Elijah?'
10 Anih mah, Kai loe misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw hanah paroeai tha ka pathok; Israel kaminawk mah na lokkamhaih to pahnawt o moe, na hmaicamnawk to phraek o boih boeh; nangmah ih tahmaanawk to sumsen hoiah hum o, kai khue ni anghmat boeh; vaihi doeh kai hum hanah patoem o vop, tiah a naa.
And he saith, 'I have been very zealous for Jehovah, God of Hosts, for the sons of Israel have forsaken Thy covenant — Thine altars they have thrown down, and Thy prophets they have slain by the sword, and I am left, I, by myself, and they seek my life — to take it.'
11 Angraeng mah anih khaeah, Caeh loe, Angraeng hmaa ah mae nuiah angdoe ah; khenah, Angraeng loe to ah caeh tih, tiah a naa. To naah thacak parai takhi mah mae to hmuh moe, Angraeng hmaa ah thlungnawk to koisak boih; toe Angraeng loe takhi nuiah om ai; takhi song pacoengah talih hnawh; toe Angraeng loe talih hnawhaih nuiah om ai;
And He saith, 'Go out, and thou hast stood in the mount before Jehovah.' And lo, Jehovah is passing by, and a wind — great and strong — is rending mountains, and shivering rocks before Jehovah: — not in the wind [is] Jehovah; and after the wind a shaking: — not in the shaking [is] Jehovah;
12 talih hnawh pacoengah hmai to oh; toe Angraeng loe hmai thungah om ai; hmai angzoh pacoengah kanaem lok to oh.
and after the shaking a fire: — not in the fire [is] Jehovah; and after the fire a voice still small;
13 To lok to Elijah mah thaih naah, a mikhmai to kahni hoiah khuk khoep, a caeh moe, thlungkhaw hmaa ah angdoet. Khenah, anih khaeah lok angzoh, Elijah, hae ah timaw na sak? tiah a naa.
and it cometh to pass, at Elijah's hearing [it], that he wrappeth his face in his robe, and goeth out, and standeth at the opening of the cave, and lo, unto him [is] a voice, and it saith, 'What — to thee, here, Elijah?'
14 Anih mah, Kai loe misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw hanah paroeai tha ka pathok; Israel kaminawk loe na lokkamhaih to pahnawt o moe, na hmaicamnawk to phraek o boih boeh; nangmah ih tahmaaanawk to sumsen hoiah hum o; kai khue ni anghmat boeh; vaihi kai hum hanah ang patoem o, tiah a naa.

15 Angraeng mah anih khaeah, Nang zohhaih ahmuen ah caeh let loe, Damaska praezaek ah caeh ah; to ahmuen na phak naah, Syria ukkung ah Hazel to siangpahrang ah suem ah.
And Jehovah saith unto him, 'Go turn back on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus, and thou hast gone in, and anointed Hazael for king over Aram,
16 Nimshi capa Jehu doeh Israel ukkung siangpahrang ah caksak ah; to pacoengah Abel Meholah vangpui ah kaom, Shaphat capa Elishato nangmah zuengah tahmaaa ah suem ah.
and Jehu son of Nimshi thou dost anoint for king over Israel, and Elisha son of Shaphat, of Abel-Meholah, thou dost anoint for prophet in thy stead.
17 Hazel ih sumsen hoiah loih kaminawk to, Jehu mah hum ueloe, Jehu ih sumsen hoiah loih kaminawk to, Elisha mah hum tih.
'And it hath been, him who is escaped from the sword of Hazael, put to death doth Jehu, and him who is escaped from the sword of Jehu put to death doth Elisha;
18 Toe Baal hmaa ah khokkhu cangkrawn ai, anih to pahni hoiah mok vai ai kami, Israel prae ah kami sang sarihto kaimah hanah ka suek vop, tiah a naa.
and I have left in Israel seven thousand, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that hath not kissed him.'
19 To pongah Elijah loe to ahmuen hoiah caeh moe, Maitaw tae hatlaihnetto hoi laikok atok, Shaphat capa Elishato a hnuk. Maitaw tae hatlaihnetto hoiah laikok atok nathuem ah, Elijah mah anih khaeah caeh moe, angmah ih kahni to a nuiah vah pae.
And he goeth thence, and findeth Elisha son of Shaphat, and he is plowing; twelve yoke [are] before him, and he [is] with the twelfth; and Elijah passeth over unto him, and casteth his robe upon him,
20 To naah Elisha mah maitawnawk to caeh taak, Elijah hnukah patom moe, anih khaeah, Kamno hoi kampa to ka mok moe, ban ka sin pacoengah, na hnukah ka bang han, tiah a naa. Elijah mah, Amlaem let ah, na nuiah timaw ka sak? tiah a naa.
and he forsaketh the oxen, and runneth after Elijah, and saith, 'Let me give a kiss, I pray thee, to my father and to my mother, and I go after thee.' And he saith to him, 'Go, turn back, for what have I done to thee?'
21 To pongah Elisha loe amlaem let. A toksakhaih maitaw taenawk to lak moe, a boh, laikok atokhaih thingnawk to moi thonghhaih thing ah patoh pacoengah, kaminawk hanah a paek, kaminawk mah caak o. To pacoengah angthawk, Elijah hnukah bang moe, anih ih tok to a sak pae.
And he turneth back from after him, and taketh the yoke of oxen, and sacrificeth it, and with instruments of the oxen he hath boiled their flesh, and giveth to the people, and they eat, and he riseth, and goeth after Elijah, and serveth him.
