< 1 Korin 3 >
1 Nawkamyanawk, Muithla kaminawk khaeah thuih ih lok baktiah nangcae khaeah lok ka thui thai ai, toe taksa ah kaom kaminawk, Kri ah tahnu nae nawktanawk khaeah thuih ih lok baktiah ni kang thuih o.
My brothers and sisters, I couldn't talk with you as spiritual believers, but as worldly people—like baby Christians.
2 Buh kaham na caa o thai ai pongah, buh ai ah tahnutui hoiah ni kang com o: vaihi doeh na caa o thai ai vop.
I gave you milk—I couldn't give you solid food to eat, because you weren't ready for it.
3 Vaihi doeh taksa ah ni na oh o vop: nangcae salakah uthaih, angzoehhaih, ampraekhaihnawk to oh, taksa kami ah na oh o pongah na ai maw, taksa kaminawk baktiah kho na sak o?
Even now you're not ready for it, because you're still worldly. Since you're still jealous and argumentative, doesn't that show you're worldly, behaving just like ordinary people do?
4 Maeto mah, Kai loe Pawl ih kami ni, kalah maeto mah, kai loe Apollo ih kami ni, tiah na thuih o nathung long taksa ah kaom kami ah na ai maw na oh o vop?
When one of you says, “I follow Paul,” while another says, “I follow Apollos,” doesn't that show you're being so very human?
5 Pawl loe mi aa, Apollo loe mi aa, nihnik loe Angraeng mah paek ih baktih toengah, tanghaih na tawnh o hanah toksah kami ah na ai maw a oh hoi?
Who is Apollos, anyway? And who is Paul? We're just servants through whom you believed. Each of us does the work God gave us to do.
6 Kai mah patit, Apollo mah tui bawh; toe qoengsakkung loe Sithaw ni.
I did the planting, Apollos did the watering—but it was God who made you grow!
7 To pongah qoengsakkung Sithaw ai ah loe, patii kami hoi tui bawh kami loe tidoeh na ai ni.
So the one who does the planting doesn't count for anything, any more than the one who does the watering. The only one who matters is God who is growing you!
8 Patii kami hoi tuipaek kami loe maeto ni: mi kawbaktih doeh a sak ih tok baktih toengah toksakhaih atho to hnu tih.
The one planting and the one watering have the same goal, and both will be rewarded according to what they've done.
9 Aicae loe Sithaw hoi nawnto toksah kami ah a oh o: nangcae loe Sithaw toksakhaih ahmuen ah na oh o moe, Sithaw im ah ni na oh o.
We are workers together with God—and you are God's field, his building.
10 Kai khaeah paek ih Sithaw tahmenhaih baktih toengah, palungha im sahkung baktiah kai mah imhmuen to ka raemh, kalah kami mah to ahmuen ah im to sak. Toe to imhmuen nuiah kawbangmaw im a sak, tito kami boih mah acoe nasoe.
Through the grace of God that he gave to me, I laid down the foundation like a skilled building supervisor. Now someone else is building on it. Whoever does the building needs to watch what they're doing.
11 Raemh tangcae imhmuen baktiah mi mah doeh kalah imhmuen to raemh thai mak ai boeh, to imhmuen loe Jesu Kri ni.
For no one can lay any other foundation than what's already laid—that is Jesus Christ.
12 Kami mah raemh tangcae imhmuen nuiah sui maw, sum kanglung maw, atho kana thlung maw, thing maw, caphaeh maw, phroh hoiah maw im to sah nahaeloe,
Those who build on that foundation may use gold, silver, precious stone, wood, hay, or straw—
13 amtuenghaih niah loe, kami boih mah sak ih tok to hmai hoiah amtuengsak tih; kami boih mah sak ih tok loe kawbaktih tok maw, tito hmai hoiah tanoekhaih to om tih.
but whatever is used to build with will be exposed. For on the Day of Judgment fire will reveal it and test it. Everyone's work will be shown for what it is.
14 Mi kawbaktih doeh Anih mah raemh tangcae imhmuen nuiah im sah nahaeloe, cak poe tih, to kami loe tangqum to hnu tih.
Those whose building survives will be rewarded.
15 Mi kawbaktih mah doeh a sak ih tok to hmai mah kangh pae ving nahaeloe, anih loe sung tih: toe hmai thung hoi loih baktih toengah, angmah to loe pahlonghaih hnu tih.
Those whose building is burned up will lose out. They will still be saved, but it will be like passing through fire!
16 Nangcae loe Sithaw ih tempul ah na oh o, nangcae thungah Sithaw ih Muithla oh, tito na panoek o ai maw?
Don't you know you are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?
17 Mi kawbaktih doeh Sithaw ih tempul amhnongsak kami loe, Sithaw mah paro tih; Sithaw ih tempul loe ciimcai, to tempul loe nangcae ni.
Anyone who destroys God's temple will be destroyed by God, for God's temple is holy, and you are the temple.
18 Mi kawbaktih doeh angmah hoi angmah angling hmah nasoe. Nangcae thungah kami maeto mah angmah hoi angmah kai loe hae long nuiah palungha kami ah ka oh, tiah poek nahaeloe, palungha kami ah a oh thai hanah, kamthu baktiah om nasoe. (aiōn )
Don't deceive yourselves. If there's anyone of you who thinks they're worldly wise, they should become fools so they can become truly wise! (aiōn )
19 Hae long nui palunghahaih loe Sithaw hmaa ah amthuhaih ah ni oh. Anih mah palungha kaminawk to angmacae palunghahaih hoiah naeh, tiah cabu thungah tarik ih oh.
This world's wisdom is plain foolishness to God. As Scripture says, “He uses the cleverness of the wise to catch them out,”
20 Angraeng mah, Palungha kaminawk ih poekhaih loe azom pui ni, tito panoek, tiah tarik ih o let bae vop.
and “The Lord knows the arguments of the wise are pointless.”
21 To pongah mi kawbaktih doeh kaminawk nuiah amoek hmah nasoe. Hmuen boih loe nangcae ih ni.
So don't boast about people. For you have everything,
22 Paul maw, to tih ai boeh loe Apollo maw, to tih ai boeh loe Kipha maw, to tih ai boeh loe hae long maw, to tih ai boeh loe hinghaih maw, to tih ai boeh loe duekhaih maw, to tih ai boeh loe vaihi ah kaom hmuennawk maw, to tih ai boeh loe kaom han koi hmuennawk maw, hmuennawk boih loe nangcae ih ni;
whether it's Paul or Apollos or Peter—or the world, or life, or death, or the present, or the future. You have everything—
23 nangcae loe Kri kami ah na oh o, Kri loe Sithaw ih ni.
and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.
