David consulted with the captains of thousands and of hundreds, even with every leader.
2 David mah, Israel kaminawk boih khaeah, Hae hmuen hae nangcae mah hoi tih, tiah na poek o moe, aicae Angraeng Sithaw koehhaih ah om tih, tiah na poek o nahaeloe, Israel prae thung boih ah kaom aimacae nawkamyanawk boih, vangpui hoi a taengah kaom qaimanawk hoi Levinawk boih aicae hoi nawnto amkhuenghaih ahmuen ah athum o thai hanah lok pat si;
David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if it is of the LORD our God, let’s send word everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have pasture lands, that they may gather themselves to us.

So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor River of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring God’s ark from Kiriath Jearim.
6 Cherubim salakah kaom, Angraeng Sithaw ih ahmin hoi kasaeng Sithaw ih thingkhong to angzawnh hanah, David hoi Israel kaminawk loe Keriath-Jearim, tiah kawk ih Judah prae Baalah ah caeh o boih.
David went up with all Israel to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there God the LORD’s ark that sits above the cherubim, that is called by the Name.
7 Abinadab ih imthung hoiah Sithaw ih thingkhong to maitaw leeng kangtha pongah suek o moe, Uzzah hoi Ahio mah ruet.
They carried God’s ark on a new cart, and brought it out of Abinadab’s house; and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
8 David hoi Israel kaminawk boih loe, aqui kapop katoeng, cingceng, satuem hoi mongkahnawk to sin o moe, Angraeng hmaa ah tha hoi laasak o.
David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, with harps, with stringed instruments, with tambourines, with cymbals, and with trumpets.
9 Kidon ih cang atithaih ahmuen ah phak o naah loe, maitaw tae to amthaek pongah, Uzzah mah krak han ai ah Sithaw ih thingkhong to ban hoiah patawnh.
When they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled.

The LORD’s anger burnt against Uzza, and he struck him because he put his hand on the ark; and he died there before God.
11 Uzzah nuiah Angraeng palungphui pongah, David loe poeknawm ai; to ahmuen loe vaihni ni khoek to Perez Uzzah, tiah kawk o.
David was displeased, because the LORD had broken out against Uzza. He called that place Perez Uzza, to this day.
12 To na niah loe David mah Sithaw to zit pongah, Kawbangmaw Sithaw ih thingkhong to im ah kaimah khaeah ka sin thai han? tiah a thuih.
David was afraid of God that day, saying, “How can I bring God’s ark home to me?”
13 To pongah David mah Sithaw ih thingkhong to angmah khaeah David ih vangpui thungah sin ai; ayae ving moe, Gitti kami Obed-Edom im ah sinh o lat.
So David didn’t move the ark with him into David’s city, but carried it aside into Obed-Edom the Gittite’s house.
14 Sithaw ih thingkhong loe Obed-Edom imthung takoh hoi nawnto khrah thumto thung oh. To naah Angraeng mah Obed-Edom imthung takoh hoi a tawnh ih hmuennawk boih nuiah tahamhoihaih to paek.
God’s ark remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months; and the LORD blessed Obed-Edom’s house and all that he had.
