1 Philistin kaminawk mah Israel caanawk to tuk o; Israel caanawk loe nihcae hmaa ah cawnh o moe, Gilboa mae nuiah kami paroeai duek o.
And [the] Philistines they fought against Israel and he fled [the] man of Israel from before [the] Philistines and they fell slain on [the] mountain of Gilboa.
2 Philistinnawk loe Saul hoi anih ih capanawk to patom o moe, Saul ih capa Jonathan, Abinadab hoi Malki-Shua to hum pae o.
And they pursued closely [the] Philistines after Saul and after sons his and they struck down [the] Philistines Jonathan and Abinadab and Malki-Shua [the] sons of Saul.
3 Saul to kanung aep ah tuk o, kalii kaat kop kaminawk mah Saul to kah o moe, ahmaa caak o sak.
And it was heavy the battle on Saul and they found him the archers with the bow and he was in severe pain from the archers.
4 Saul mah angmah ih maiphawmaica sinkung khaeah, Na sumsen to aphongh loe na thun ah; to tih ai nahaeloe tangzat hin aat ai kaminawk mah kai hae na pacaekthlaek o tih, tiah a naa. Toe anih ih maiphawmaica sin kami loe zit pongah, anih to thun ai. To pongah Saul mah angmah ih sumsen to lak moe, a sumsen pongah angthunh.
And he said Saul to [the] bearer of weapons his draw out sword your - and pierce through me with it lest they should come the uncircumcised [men] these and they will deal wantonly with me and not he was willing [the] bearer of weapons his for he was afraid exceedingly. And he took Saul the sword and he fell on it.
5 Saul loe duek boeh, tiah maiphaw sin kami mah hnuk naah, anih doeh angmah ih sumsen hoiah angthunh moe, duek toeng.
And he saw [the] bearer of weapons his that he had died Saul and he fell also he on the sword and he died.
6 Saul loe angmah ih imthung takoh ah kaom, a capa thumtonawk hoi nawnto duek.
And he died Saul and three of sons his and all household his together they died.
7 Azawn ah kaom Israelnawk mah, nihcae ih misatuh kaminawk loe cawnh o ving boeh, Saul hoi anih ih caanawk doeh duek o boeh ti, tiah panoek o naah, avang to cawnh o taak boih; to pacoengah Philistinnawk angzoh o moe, avang ah khosak o.
And they saw every man of Israel who [was] in the valley that they had fled and that they had died Saul and sons his and they abandoned cities their and they fled and they came [the] Philistines and they dwelt in them.
8 Khawnbangah loe Philistinnawk mah kadueh kaminawk ih khukbuen to khring hanah angzoh o, to naah Gilboa mae ah kadueh Saul hoi anih ih capanawk to hnuk o.
And it was from [the] next day and they came [the] Philistines to strip the [ones] slain and they found Saul and sons his fallen on [the] mountain of Gilboa.
9 Nihcae mah Saul ih khukbuen to khringh pae o, anih ih lu hoi maiphaw to a lak o moe, angmacae kaminawk hoi sakcop ih krangnawk khaeah tamthang thuih o hanah, Philistin prae boih ah kami to patoeh o.
And they stripped him and they took head his and weapons his and they sent in [the] land of [the] Philistines all around to bear [the] news to idols their and the people.
10 Anih ih maiphaw to angmacae sithawnawk suekhaih im ah a suek o; anih ih lu to Dagon tempul thungah bangh o.
And they put weapons his [the] house of gods their and skull his they fixed [the] house of Dagon.
11 Philistinawk mah Saul nuiah sak o ih hmuen boih to Gilead prae Jabesh vangpui ah kaom kaminawk mah thaih o naah,
And they heard all Jabesh Gilead all that they had done [the] Philistines to Saul.
12 misahoih kaminawk boih caeh o moe, Saul hoi anih capanawk ih qok to lak o pacoengah, Jabesh ah amlaem o haih; nihcae ih ahuhnawk to Jabesh avang ih Oak thing tlim ah aphum o, nihcae mah ni sarihto thung buhzah o haih.
And they arose every man of strength and they took [the] corpse of Saul and [the] corpses of sons his and they brought them Jabesh towards and they buried bones their under the oak in Jabesh and they fasted seven days.
13 Saul loe Angraeng ih lok tahngai ai, Angraeng hmaa ah zaehaih to sak moe, Angraeng khaeah hni ai ah, taqawk oephaih hoiah pakhra kawk thaih kaminawk khaeah lokdueng lat pongah,
And he died Saul in unfaithfulness his which he had acted unfaithfully against Yahweh on [the] word of Yahweh which not he kept and also to consult by necromancy to consult.
14 Angraeng mah anih to paduek moe, Jesse capa David khaeah prae to paek ving.
And not he consulted Yahweh and he put to death him and he turned over the kingship to David [the] son of Jesse.
