< Johan 4 >

1 Jesuh naw Johana kthaka Baptican jah pe lü, axüisaw hea jah pyangki tia mawng, Pharisee naw ngjakie.
But when Jeshu knew that the Pharishee had heard that he had made many disciples, and baptized more than Juchanon,
2 (Akcanga ta, Jesuh amät naw baptican am jah pe, axüisaw he naw ami jah peta kyaki),
(though it was not Jeshu himself baptized, but his disciples, )
3 Ami pyena mawng Jesuh naw a ngjak ja Judah khaw ceh ta lü, Kalile khaw da,
he left Jihuda, and came again into Galila.
4 Samarih khaw sunpah lü cit yahki.
AND he needed that in going he should pass through among the Shomroyee;
5 Jakop naw a capa Josep üng a peta khaw pei, Samarih khaw hne Sukhar mlüha pha lawki.
and he came to a city of the Shomroyee which is called Shokar, nigh to the field which Jakub gave unto Jauseph his son.
6 Acuia Jakopa tuikhui veki. Jesuh lam a lawnak bawngbai lü, tuikhui peia ngawki. Acun cun mhnüp ngsunga kyaki.
And the fountain of water of Jakub was there. But Jeshu was wearied with the labour of the way, and sat by the fountain; and it was six hours.
7 Samarih nghnumi tui than khaia law se Jesuh naw, “Ka awk vai tui na pea,” a ti.
There came a woman from Shomreen to draw waters, and Jeshu said to her, Give me waters to drink.
8 (Acun k'um üng, axüisaw he cun mlüh k’uma ei vai khyäi acun hea citkie.)
Now his disciples had gone into the city to buy for them meat.
9 Samarih nghnumi naw, “Ihawkba, nang Judah khyang naw, kei Samarih nghnumia veia tui na awk vai na täeiki ni?” ti lü, a kthäh be. (Judah khyang mjüe cun Samarih khyangea eiawknak tuikhawt üng eiawk am thum na u.)
The woman, the Shomroytha, saith to him, How (canst) thou who art a Jihudoya ask drink of me who am a woman, a Shomroytha? For the Jihudoyee have no accommodation with the Shomroyee.
10 Jesuh naw, “Pamhnam naw nang üng i ning pet hlüki ti am ksingki, u naw tui ning täeiki ti pi am ksingki. Na ksinga ta, angsäia xünnak tui ning pet vaia na na täei khai sü,” a ti.
Jeshu answered and said to her, If thou hadst known the gift of Aloha, and who He is who hath said to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldst have asked of him, and he had given thee living waters.
11 Nghnumi naw, “Saja aw, tuikhui thuki, vähnak vai tuipung pi am na taki. Hawia kaa xünnak tui na taki ni?
That woman saith to him, My Lord, thou hast no vessel, and the well is deep; whence hast thou living waters?
12 “Hina tuikhui, amät naw aw khawi lü, a cae ja, a khyüngseie naw pi ami awk khawi, kami pu Jakop naw a jah pet, nang ania kthaka kyäp bawk aih lü,” a ti.
Art thou greater than our father Jakub, he who gave us this well, and himself drank of it, and his children, and his flocks?
13 Jesuh naw msang lü, “Hina tui awki naküt ta, tui cawi be ham khai.
Jeshu answered and said to her, Every one who shall drink of these waters again will thirst;
14 Acunsepi, kei naw ka pet vaia tui awki naküt ta, tui am cawi ti. Kei naw ka pet vaia tui cun a puk k'uma hna lü, angsäi xünnak tuia kya se, anglät xünnak pi yah khai,” a ti. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
but every one who shall drink of the waters that I will give him shall never thirst; but those waters that I shall give him shall be in him a fountain of waters, that shall spring forth to the life of eternity. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
15 Nghnumi naw, “Saja aw, tui am cawi ti lü, tui than khaia hia käh ka law be ti vaia, acuna tui na pea,” a ti.
That woman saith to him, My Lord, give me of those waters, that I thirst not again, nor come to draw from hence.
16 Jesuh naw, “Cita, na cei va khü lü, law bea,” a ti.
Jeshu saith to her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 Nghnumi naw, “Ka cei am ve,” ti se, Jesuh naw, “Ka cei am ve na ti cang veki,
She saith to him, I have no husband. Jeshu saith to her, Well hast thou said, I have no husband;
18 Na cei mhma ve pängki, tuh na vepüi pi na ceia am kya; acen üng akcang pyen veki,” a ti.
for five husbands hast thou had, and this whom thou now hast is not thy husband; this hast thou said truly.
19 Nghnumi naw, “Saja aw, sahma mata na kya khaia ning ksing veng.
That woman saith to him, My Lord, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 “Kami pupae naw hina mcung üng Pamhnam a na hjawkhah khawikie. Nangmi Judahe naw, ‘Jerusalema ni Pamhnam hjawkhahnak’ nami tiki” a ti.
Our fathers in this mountain worshipped, and you say that in Urishlem is the place where it behoves to worship.
21 Jesuh naw, “Nghnumi aw, ka pyen hin juma. Khyang he naw Pa cun ahina mcung ja Jerusalem mlüha am ami hjawkhahnak tia kcün pha law khai.
Jeshu saith to her, Woman, believe me that the hour cometh when neither in this mountain, nor at Urishlem, you shall worship the Father:
22 “Nangmi Samarihe naw nami hjawkhah am ksing uki. Cunüngpi, keimi Judahe naw ta u kami hjawkhahki ti kami ksingki. Isetiakyaküng, küikyannak cun Judahe üngka naw lawkia kyaki.
you worship something you know not; but we worship whom we know; for salvation is from the Jihudoyee.
23 “Acunsepi, akcün pha law khai, hjawkhahkie naw Ngmüimkhya ja akcanga ami hjawkhah vai cun tukbäih yea kya ve. Pa naw acukba hjawkhah khaie jah hlüeiki.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father also requireth worshippers such as these.
24 “Mhnam cun Ngmüimkhyaa kyaki. Hjawkhahki naküt naw Ngmüimkhya ja ngthungtak am hjawkhah yah vai,” a ti.
For Aloha is a Spirit; and they who worship him, in spirit and in truth must worship.
25 Nghnumi naw, “Mesijah law khai ti ka ksingki. Ani a law üng, ani naw ahmäi naküt jah mtheh law khai,” a ti.
That woman saith to him, I know that the Meshicha cometh; and when he hath come, he will teach us all things.
26 Jesuh naw, “Nang ning ngthuheipüiki hin ani ni,” a ti.
Jeshu saith to her, I am (he), I who speak with thee.
And as he spoke, his disciples came, and they wondered that with the woman he spoke; but no man said, What inquirest thou? or, Why speakest thou with her?
28 Nghnumi naw a tui um hawih hüt lü, a lawnak khaw da citki naw khyange üng jah mtheh lü,
The woman left her water-pot, and went into the city, and saith,
29 “Law ua, ka awmih khawi naküt ksingkia khyang mat ve ve, teng law u. Mesijah am niki aw?” a ti.
Come, see a man who hath told me every thing that I have done: is not this the Meshicha?
30 Mlüh ceh ta u lü, Jesuha veia citkie.
And the men went out of the city, and came with her.
31 Acun k'um üng axüisaw he naw, “Rabbi, na ei eia” ti lü, ami mtheh.
Between these things his disciples entreated of him, saying to him, Raban, eat.
32 Acunsepi Jesuh naw, “Nangmi naw am nami ksing ka ei vai ta veng,” a ti.
But he said to them, I have food to eat of which you know not.
33 Axüisawe amimät üng, “A ei vai tha lawki veki aw” ti lü, ngthähkie.
The disciples say among themselves, Has any man brought him somewhat to eat?
34 Jesuh naw, “Na tüih lawkia a ngjak hlü bilawh ja, a khut kpäng vai cun keia eiawka kyaki ni.
Jeshu saith to them, My meat is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.
35 “‘Khya kphyü ve hamki, acun käna cang ahnaka kcün pha law khai’ am nami ti khawiki aw? Teng u, ka ning jah mthehki, mang hü u lü, loe jah teng süm ua, hmin päng lü, ah vai kcün ve u.
Say you not, that after four moons cometh harvest? Behold, I tell you, Lift up your eyes, and see the lands which have become white for the harvest already.
36 “Atki naw ngkhyengnak yah lü anglät xünnak vaia a ktheipai mcun ve, sawki ja atki ani nghngih atänga je yüm khai xawi. (aiōnios g166)
And he who reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal; and the sower and the reaper shall rejoice together. (aiōnios g166)
37 “Ahin üng, ‘mat naw saw se, mat naw atki’ tia khuisui cun cang ve.
For in this is the proverb true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38 “Am nami khüinak khawia loa cang at khaia ka ning jah tüihki. Acuia akce he naw khüi u se, ami khüinak kce cun nangmia ngmangnak ni,” a ti.
I sent you to reap that (for) which you did not toil; for others toiled, and you have entered upon their labour.
39 Acunüng, “Ka awmih naküt ksingki ve ve,” tia, ngthu, nghnumi naw a pyena phäha Samarih khyang khawhah naw Jesuh jum lawkie.
Now of that city many Shomroyee believed in him, because of the saying of that woman, who testified, He told me every thing that I have done.
40 Samarih khyange Jesuh veia ami law üng ami veia a ve vaia nghui na u se, acuia Jesuh cun mhnüp nghngih awmki.
And when those Shomroyee came to him, they besought him to be with them. And he was with them two days,
41 Jesuh a ngthu pyena phäh khyang khawkän naw jum lawkie.
and many believed through his word.
42 Acunakyase, nghnumia veia, “Tuh ta, nanga pyena phäha am kya lü, kamimät naw kami ngjak ja akcanga hin hin khawmdeka Küikyan Bawia kyaki ti, kami ksinga phäha kami jumki,” ami ti.
And they said to the woman, Now not through thy word believe we in him; for we have heard and known that this is truly the Meshicha, the Saviour of the world.
43 Amhnüp nghngih käna, acun üngka naw Kalile hne da citki.
AND after two days Jeshu went forth from thence, and came into Galila;
44 Isetiakyaküng, Jesuh amät naw, “Sahma cun amäta hminaka khawa mhlünmtainak am yah khawi naw,” a ti.
for he himself testified, that a prophet in his own city is not honoured.
45 Jerusalem Lätnak Pawia cit u lü Pawi k’um üng Jesuh naw a jah pawhmsah naküt jah hmukie naw ta, Kalile khawa Jesuh a law üng, Kalile khyange naw dokhamkie.
But when he came to Galila, the Galiloyee received him, because they had seen all the signs which he had done in Urishlem at the feast; for they also went to the feast.
46 Acun käna Jesuh Kalile khaw Kana, tui cun capyituia a nglatnak sak hnüna law beki. Acuia khyang ngvai mat a capa Kapenawm mlüha a mhnatei veki.
So Jeshu came again into Kotna of Galila, where he had made the waters wine. And there was at Kapher-nachum the servant of a certain king, whose son was ill.
47 Ani naw Jesuh Judah khaw üngka naw Kalile khawa lawki ti a ngjak üng, a capa thih law hlüki, law lü a mdaw law be vaia cit lü a va nghuinak.
This (man) heard that Jeshu had come from Jihuda into Galila; and he came to him, and besought him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was near to die.
48 Jesuh naw, “U naw pi müncanksee ja cäiletnake am nami hmuh üng amdanga am jum hlü uki,” a ti.
Jeshu saith to him, If signs and wonders you do not SEE, you will not believe.
49 Khyang ngvai naw, “Saja aw, ka ca am a thih ham üng akjanga lawa,” a ti.
The servant of the king saith to him, My lord, come down ere my child die!
50 Jesuh naw, “Cit bea, na capa daw be khai ni,” a ti. Khyang ngvai cun Jesuha pyen jum lü nghlat beki.
Jeshu saith to him, Go, thy son liveth. And the man believed in the word which Jeshu had spoken to him, and went.
51 A nghlat be lama a mpyae naw a na khyum u lü, “Na capa dawei law be ve,” ti lü, ami mtheh.
But as he was going down, his servants met him, and gave him good news, saying to him, Thy son liveth.
52 Ngvai naw iti üng a capa a daw law bea mawng jah kthäh se, amimi naw, “Müta, mü lam naji mat üng mhnat naw khyah ve,” ti lü, ami mtheh.
And he asked at what time he was healed. They say to him, Yesterday, at seven hours, the fever left him.
53 Jesuh naw, “Na capa daw be khai ni,” a tinaka kcüna kyaki ti a ksing. Acunakyase, amät ja a khuiim kyawnglawng ami van naw jumkie.
And his father knew that in that hour it was in which Jeshu said to him, Thy son liveth; and he believed, and all his house.
54 Ahin cun Jesuh Judah khaw üngka naw Kalile khawa a law käna anghngihnak müncankse a pawha kyaki.
This is again the second sign (which) Jeshu did when he had come from Jihuda into Galila.
