< Jakuk 4 >

1 Hawn üngkhyüh ni ngtunnak ja ngvawknak naküt hin nangmi üngkhyüh a law ta. Nangmi üng angläta ngtunnak hin mlümlawknak ja nami hlükaweinak üngkhyüh lawki he ni.
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2 Nami hlüei am nami taeikia kyase khyang nami hnimki. Akdena nami hlüei am nami yaheikia kyase ngtun ngvawk nami pawhkie. Nami hlüei am nami yah khawh hin acuna phäh Pamhnam am nami kthäha phäh ni.
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Nami ktaiyü üngpi am yah uki, isetiakyaküng, nami cungaih se lü nami mäta mlümlawknaka na sumei vaia nami kthäha phäh ni.
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Am sitihkia khyange! Khawmdek püiei hlünaki hin Pamhnama ye ni tia am nami ksingki aw. Khawmdeka püia nami thawn hlü üngta Pamhnama yea namimät nami thawnsaki ni.
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 Cangcim üng ngthungtak am ve tia käh ngaia, “Pamhnam naw a jah tak peta Ngmüimkhya cun naw akdena hlükaweinak am beki ni,” tia pyenki.
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 Lüpi Pamhnam naw a jah peta bäkhäknak hin kthamah bawki ni. Cangcim naw, “Camcahki Pamhnam naw jah mah lü mlung mhnemkie üng bäkhäknak jah peki ni.
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Acuna kyase, namimät Pamhnam üng cuapa. Khawyai cän nami mah üng nang ning dawn ta khai ni.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Pamhnama vei nami cäh üng ani cun pi nami veia cäh law khai ni. Nangmi mkhyeki he, nami kut mthi ua! Limmakie nami mlung ngcimsak ua!
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Pukse u, ngpyang lü kyap u: nami yaihnak cän kyahnaka nglatsak lü nami jenak pi helatnaka nglatsak ua!
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Bawipa maa mlung nami mhnem üng ani naw ning jah jäksawn khai ni.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
11 Ka püie, khyangkce käh khinyaiei u. Nang naw Khritjan kce khinyaiei lü ngthu nami khyah üngta nangmi naw Thum cän ngthumkhyah lü nami khinyaieikie ni. Thum cän ngthu nami mkhyah üng Thum cän nami läklamkia am kya lü Thum ngthumkhyahkia ni nami kya ve.
Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 Pamhnam däk ni Thum jah pe lü ngthumkhyahkia a kya ve. Ani naw jah küikyan lü jah mkhyüh khawhki ni. Khyangkce ngthumkhyah pet khai ta namimät ia nami ngaieikie ni.
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
13 “Tuhngawi am ani üng khawngawi mlüh mata cit lü kum mat bang ve vai lü kunpan pawh lü ngui khawhah mi sui vai u,” tikie naw tuha na ngai ua.
Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Khawngawi nami sak ia thawn khai ti cun am ksing uki! Nangmi cun asäng po law lü khyük bekia mei khua mäi ni a law ta.
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 “Bawipa naw hlüei lü mi xün u ta cun mi pawh kawm u” ti lü nami pyen vaia ni a kya ve.
For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16 Lüpi atuha camcah lü nami awhcahki, awhcahnak avan cun khyeki ni.
But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17 Acuna kyase, akdaw pawh vai ksing lü am mi pawh cän mi pawh vai u, mimi cun mi mkhyeki hea kyaki ni.
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
